I see another problem, not with bitcoin itself but with this stupid in-app/game purchases model - it will disappear, sooner or later..

That's how the game developers make there most money through InApp purchases take Candy Crush for example they built an empire with just that game.

I see this way will work too,

Familiar with mol.com? It's an online game reloading site. It supports most of the online game but adding game credits there are not yet possible thru bitcoin payment. If mol.com will adopt bitcoin then purchasing in-game items in all of its supported games are possible.

But how about those that not supported by this reloading site like COC?

One way is, if Google will allow us to reload our Google wallet thru bitcoin. This is much better than direct payment in-game to avoid confirmation time. This is already discussed in the past but I don't know the current status of it now.

I Think this is a good idea, but if mol.com and google play will collaborate with bitcoin? well atleast their transactions will be safe to government issues or maybe taxes too hehe well I have heard certain issues with paypal before, and I think paypal need to learn something from bitcoin.

I wish to see those discussion but maybe it has been 120 days old now and they never bother to post on there anymore so I think maybe we can recreate a new one. Tongue

Even if it is implemented i think that it will not be useful.
Because the merchant needs at lest to have 1 confirmation then release the game credit/powerups to the user.
Even though it can be done instantly without any confirmation but that would be risky.

Oh I see. We do not want to take that risk. We love bitcoin because of security in transactions.

The transaction are secure only after 1 confirmation at least.
Some require 3 confirmation and some other up to 6 confirmation.
And for a gamer the waiting time is a lot, which is not preferred in general.

There is one company that I am aware of that have created a few games that allow you to play against others and gain some bitcoin as a reward, when you download the pro version from their site you can also deposit BTC and use that to gamble on your game.  Play store does not allow a 'gambling' app so it needs to be downloaded from their site in order to play using your BTC the games are pretty cool and addictive.

Yes there are apps that offers rewards in Bitcoin. But what I meant here is apps that let us make our in game purchases (like gems in COC) in BTC.

I doubt there is, if the app is from the playstore and or appstore, the only option you got there is to use telecom and or creditcard, also paypal.
I've seen an app here that is being develop by a guy named BitTaky (I'm not sure). It's an appstore where you can use bitcoin to purchase an app, I don't know if in-app purchase is also included but I think it is.

But I think that there are few, I know there are android application that can gain bitcoins why does there isn't any game that could buy game necessities it will be great, and it will be a secure transaction for both parties.

You can find plenty of apps that could earn you some coins but the inapp purchasing is based on googles policy and not the application developer. You could look maybe for an app outside google or apple but I doubt there is much as there is really not much of bitcoin applications that requires purchasing.

Then there is nothing we can do. Unless Google change their policy, we have to stick to using paypal or cards in making inapp purchases. The most we could hope is that demand gets high enough that google or apple are forced to adopt in using cryptocurrencies.

I just noticed that when making in-game purchases on Android devices, the only payment method is using telecom or credit card. Is there a way that purchases can be made through Bitcoin?

I think this is a great opportunity to make Bitcoin even more popular. Gamers will be introduced to using Bitcoin as a currency.

What do you think of this? Or is it already being implemented, and I am not just aware of it?

I think there are other games accepting bitcoin as payments but I think just a few in numbers

well introducing bitcoin in games as payment well curious players that doesn't have knowledge about bitcoin will research about it and use it for purchases in that game. Grin

Then I guess it would be up to google or apple if they will recognize Bitcoin and accept it as payments. But if Bitcoin continues its track, it will not be long before they accept bitcoins.

It is possible to have in game purchases in mobile games, but those apps are either not published or are taken down from Google play and the appstore because alternative payment methods violate the terms and conditions.

Like I posted in other thread. Smiley

What do you wish you could buy with btc ?

I like an instant game credits and ingame purchase of what I want in an online game. Im an online game enthusiast and I found it hassle to such any other payment method. With the help of bitcoin it will make an easy purchase.

Im not sure if some online games implemented this.
