Indonesia does not prohibit containing bitcoin. I think Indonesia only prohibits transactions using bitcoin means sales transactions and purchase of products or other. This is to keep people using the rupiah as a valid means of exchange in Indonesia.

Yes . It is a sad news for the bitcoin community. The ban on the use of bitcoin has affected a small fraction of the value of bitcoin. The ban has made many big bosses about bitcoin in the country rushing to sell the bitcoin, have discounted a bit. I hope this ban will soon be removed

Yes Bank Indonesia prohibits the use of Bitcoin one of them to prevent the occurrence of many crimes. Because, during this Bitcoin transactions are often used for criminal activities, such as the alleged terrorism, money laundering, or immoral actions. the most important bitcoin mining can still be done.

Great!! A lot of shitposters would get the heck out of this forum? Even if not, its not going to affect the markets much because Indonesian traders don't affect the markets by much margin. People will talk about for like what,2 days at the maximum? Its only the people from Indonesia who'll be affected by this move made by the Indonesian government. Some people who might have been depending upon bitcoin as their main income ,would be affected the most. Feel sorry for them but then who cares. Wonder if people go abroad just so that they can use bitcoin Shocked. That would be fascinating and astounding to a greater extent. But can they survive there, for they can't speak English for shit.

I think indonesia does not banned bitcoin, it's just prohibiting transactions using bitcoin and not forbid to own or collect bitcoin..
That's right, from the news that I read Indonesia is not Ban Bitcoin, Indonesia only forbids Bitcoin serve as a means of exchange / payment in Indonesia ..

Their government simply need to shield their citizen from fraudulent activity. On the other hand, I think there are authorities there that will purchase bitcoins and restricting it will diminish its value hence the ideal time to purchase then when all are set, they will in the end lift the prohibited, and the individuals who purchase could be a moment mogul. In the event that that is the situation, well I let you know, they fizzled. Since restricting bitcoin in Indonesia have no extraordinary impact in the worldwide value market of bitcoin. Indeed, even the cost is low at this point, it is because of the current issues in two south east asian countries.

if we look at the statements contained in the article is that the government is very concerned about the risks offered by digital currencies and explains what are the adverse effects that could result if cryptocurrency transactions persisted in their country. Because indeed, it is the duty of the government, to maintain the stability of the economy in a country, and to prevent and follow up any threats that may affect it.

No, its not true. Indonesia Central bank has warned against the crypto but not banned it. They may seize trading in future but currently its not affected.

It's not a warned.

"Bank Indonesia affirms that as a payment system authority, Bank Indonesia prohibits all payment system service providers (principals, switching organizers, clearing organizers, final settlement providers, issuers, acquirers, payment gateways, electronic wallet operators, fund transfer providers) and Financial Technology providers in Indonesia both Banks and Non-Bank Institutions to process payment transactions with virtual currency..."

Sooner or later, they will rethink their attitude towards bitcoin. Together with the adoption of the cryptocurrency by other states, everything will change exactly and they will have no choice.

Yes and i think majority of the Indonesian people already know about bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies. In fact, there are so many indonesian people who are here in this forum and i know some of them are already earning millions. Sooner or later, they might raise the ban and would eventually embrace the blockchain technology.

I still dont get how countries can straight up ban bitcoin lol. I mean all it requires is the fucking internet. All these governments are just scared shitless about people cashing out and hurting the national treasury maybe

I also have no correct information about it , but recently when South Korea announced to ban the bitcoin in his country, but also recently South Korea announced they are not doing it, but this incident effect on bitcoin price and bitcoin price was suddenly down, but again bitcoin is going to up. So let see it is true news or not about Indonesia bans bitcoin.

Looking from the translation it seems like it is only illegal right now for indonesians to trade(aka buy/sell) bitcoin and send bitcoin to other people.

It's still legal as far as i can tell to be holding bitcoin.

Plus, it is impossible to enforce entirely. If you trade bitcoins with another person without an exchange, how is the government going to be able to tell that you have been using bitcoin at all? It's more of a statement of their attitude towards bitcoin rather than an actual regulation imo.

Don't panic because these things are to be expected. Governments don't like bitcoin, and it's been known for ages.

True. Majority of the governments in our world are afraid of the crypto currency world and bitcoin which is why they will never stop trying to regulate this market and will always fail at the end of the day because bitcoin is not something that any government can ever regulate. The funny thing is that most of these governments have separate motives like personal profit etc behind these moves and many people fail to see this and blindly fall for their scare tactics. All these governments need to realize that bitcoin is the future and must embrace since they cannot stop it.

Everything goes according to plan, all of Asia for some reason does not much prefer crypto-currencies and prohibits transactions and exchange in Fiat. I wonder how this will affect ordinary people, or rather their decision in the future for such an event.

For Indonesia, it's doesn't affect to much since they have forbid bitcoin usage since beginning.
They decide to ban bitcoin because they want to protect their civilian especially for terrorism funding

~They Ban because they care !
