"Ban Bitcoin" what does it actually mean?
Bitcoin is not a user, not a site or kinda web service.
If to ban network ports and domains, people widely use VPNs.
Please share your guess, how to ban Crypto from technical point of view.

Exactly, what does that mean. I mean people that have internet can still use a wallet, right?

I'm so sorry to all who have a bitcoin in indonesia. I feel you brother, it's not easy to accept that they prohibit bitcoin in your own country. I hope they will accept in the near future.

Why would you feel sorry for them? They are still able to hold it, sell it in foreign exchanges, they can wait for their government attitude to change or leave the country with their money and pay taxes somewhere else. They aren't being oppressed in any way. Borders are open, when your country does something that you don't approve of change the country.
It's not as simple as just walking across a border and then starting a new life in a different country. There's a lot of things that can tie someone down; employment, family, business, assets, just to say the least. I would have to assume that you live in Europe if you think that crossing borders is that simple all around the world, and I can assure you that there can be a lot of unwanted effort to try and do something like that.

They're also a bunch of islands, which requires either a boat ride or a plane ticket to change to another country if you don't live on one of the main islands. The typical wage is relatively low. Do you think they're going to be able to just go to another country and walk away with most of their assets at the same time?

I don’t know if that’s true dude. These guys look like they could swim pretty well if they had to.

They seem to be happy just like they are. Maybe they don’t need bitcoin anyway. LOL

Man oh man, thus sure is such a bad news for all the Indonesian crypto currency users/lovers there in Indonesia. I sure cannot imagine how sad and devastated all Indonesians are with this news. I hope this decision of the government of indonesia gets revoked because clearly, a lot of people there are very dependent it crypto currencies for extra income for their daily needs. This will certainly effect their people. Might even cause lots of people getting out of country just to be able to use and earn cryptos.

I’m beginning to see a pattern here. Brown people don’t trust bitcoin because it fails to use curry powder and rice on a daily basis.

It might take a long time but I think governments will eventually realize that it's impossible to try to ban bitcoin. You are just pushing people to do business off the grid, and you are not taxing that amount and losing money. It's not an ideal situation for a government.

I do not think any country can stop us from using Bitcoin because everything becomes anonymous when it comes to Bitcoin. Besides, if they do, they just forbid us to use it or hoard it and not ban it

The government states, the ban is in accordance with the provisions in Law no. 7 of 2011 concerning Currencies stating that the currency is money issued by the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and any transactions that have the purpose of payment, or other obligations to be met with money, or other financial transactions conducted in the Territory of NKRI shall use rupiah.

Feel so sad to those who are affected by this changes but i think it would not be a big loss for the communuty and surely the government are planning great thing in exchange for that action. I guess government just rely on a bad thing about bitcoins and not seeing those useful effects.

What I see is most of this countries coming out to make a statement about banning bitcoin, they are only doing it because they don't have the technological capacity to enforce a regulation and if they go that way it would be too costly on their part so they want to go the cheap way out which is banning. But unfortunately for them, what make them not to enforce a regulation, they can't force a ban as people will.always find a way to ensure that they carry out their business.

Bank Indonesia (BI) stressed that virtual currency including bitcoin is not recognized as a valid payment instrument, so it is prohibited to be used as a means of payment in Indonesia.

The translations say "Bank Indonesia affirms that virtual currency including bitcoin is not recognized as a valid payment instrument, so it is prohibited to be used as a means of payment in Indonesia."

now, I don't think the authority totally banned the cryptos, rather the authority doesn't want crypto to be used as transaction methods for now. I hope, authority will rethink about it soon.

Vietnam also gave bitcoin a time but it did not affect the crypto, because simply no or not can not resist this revolution, as the internet also, it keeps growing and now can not lack them. if you want social development.
