Not for me, won't be pulling any bad eggs or old Fords anytime soon. Good luck to those seeking them. Smiley

I'm seeking them because they look cool and make me smile.   Who knows where the prices will go but, I wouldn't be at all surprised seeing them break the six figure mark this year for some of the rare ones.  Just a humble opinion Smiley Smiley Smiley

Hey my fellow collectors

Looks like for the 2019 A&G cards Harrison Ford and the Egg look to be the front runners for highest auction prices.  I give it the next 30 days and this egg will start rolling in my humble opinion.  If anyone pulls any of the rare egg cards I am a buyer for them.   Best to all Cool Cool Cool

What's backing the value of the egg card? Just rarity? Not disliking it by any means but Honus has value because the T206 ushered in the 'first' baseball cards whereas before the 19th century cards were more advertisements. Honus was also one of the first five ever inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The look of the card set it apart. So since X, regular, etc. was produced before the crypto card and will be after, it brings up the notion of what will make the crypto card so valuable beyond the possibility it simply isn't ever printed again (which would be nice).

The crypto rookie card is positioned to take advantage of the new wave of regular consumers being able to own pieces of very valuable assets. I think it won't be before long where owners of crypto rookie cards offer the ability through regulated companies for consumers to own a piece of a crypto rookie card as an index store of value for exposure to the crypto and bridge asset class without security or complicated access issues.

Two good articles:

Good reads for sure. Gotta get some zion cards. Or a sealed case.

I still think 2019 rookie class is without Parallel. usually one or two big ones but this year many seem to have bright futures.

I recall the Honus Wagner T206 became so valuable because he wouldn't allow his image to be associated with smoking so there were only a few of his cards that made it into the tobacco packs.  Extremely rare.  As far as the egg goes it will purely be about the rarity of the rare ones and there isn't anything to dislike about the egg in my opinion.  Whem someone figures out why the magic black lotus card recently sold for 65,000.00  please let me know.   I know it was a high grade but, it isn't like it's the only one out there.

Did anyone here grab the brooklyn back egg #5.   I missed seeing it completely. Someone got a really good deal around 350.00.  The crypto brooklyn started out selling for 19.00 and 26.00 dollars for the first few and we know today's price for one.   The egg brooklyn backs are starting out of the gate around 300.00. It could just be a fluke and this is it or we might see the next black lotus.  Who knows for sure Cool Cool Cool Cool  Have fun and enjoy collecting your favorites.

There are han solo autographs all over the place, or even Harrison Ford autos too from when Star Wars was the thing, cheaper too. Gotta be because it's Topps. That's a very good sign for us. I guess what I'm saying is, the collectors who want the egg and Harrison Fords autograph cards are welcome to them. I personally think they're over paying for them, and they will lose their value once the "novelty" wears off. A fad if you will. BUT the Crypto Rookie card....well, that's another story all together. Just my 2 Satoshi's.

Agree the crypto card is so unique and special there will never be anything like it.  It stands alone as the crown jewel.   However, these faberge want to be's in my opinion(only the rare ones) will far surpass the costs of the rare crypto's in the short run.  Just my opinion and always buy what makes you smile, investing for profit is very risky.

My two pennies worth...

Before the 2018 release (with the famous #83 Cryptocurrency card), the non-player / non-celebrity cards would be lucky to sell for more than $5 on auction. They're fun cards due to their obscurity in a baseball card release, but they're never worth more than a few bucks (and that's including the rare red or silver Ginter X minis).

However, that all changed with the #83 Cryptocurrency card. The #83 card was selling for less than $5 everywhere (including the rarer minis)...UNTIL this forum and all of its crypto-crazy collectors got wind of the card. In fact, I believe it was out for at least a month before we, here at BitcoinTalk, discovered it. That's when the #83 prices started to rise. Until that moment, you could barely GIVE the card away at the commonly listed $.99 Buy It Now price tag. It was all of us in the crypto community that forced the 2018 Topps A&G / Ginter X releases into such a ridiculously high premium.

As for the follow-up 2019 Topps A&G / Ginter X releases (with the Egg card), those high prices on non-player / non-celebrity cards are nothing more than a dead cat bounce. People saw the ridiculously high premiums on the 2018 releases (due almost exclusively to the #83 card), and they hope to repeat it with a similar (Egg) card. The Egg card will never match the #83 Cryptocurrency card in terms of resale value. I doubt any future card will (unless it's crypto-themed too).

Collect whatever cards you like at whatever price makes you smile, but always be a bit more cautious when investing for profit.

Again...just my two pennies worth.

Regards,
Chris

2019 A&G has some exciting rookies: tatis, Guerrero jr. Jimenez,  Alonso.   Plus their's Harrison Ford autos!

2019 could exceed 2018 price

It just may, don't forget the egg #213 but, what do I know Smiley Smiley I fell down and broke my crown lol Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Hmm. I am seeing some high 2019 prices. Star wars fans paying 1500 plus for Harrison Ford autos.

And that egg card showing strength too. Good luck on an auto though

Getting 30 million likes on social media surpassing a photo of a baby does not guarantee eggceptance as a coveted collectable. IMO

True true Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley I kinda think it is pretty cool looking though

The crypto rookie has cemented the future legacy of the 2018 X. These other Reds are special in turn as well.

Agree, just like the 1952 Topps, Mickey Mantle cemented that set, and the 1986 fleer was cemented by Michael Jordan.  I wonder if the 2019 Allen and ginter x will have a future legacy or will it be eggnored.   Only time will tell.   Good luck fellow card collectors Shocked Shocked
