Whoa! that is some expensive piece of cardboard.  I wonder how many people that it was a run-of-the-mill card and tossed theirs aside when it first came out.  I'll have to look up how many of that specific one were printed.  Has to be a 1/1 i'm thinking.

This card is going to sell for over $50,000, so if that card can bring the wealth...imagine what 2018 Topps Ginter #83 rare versions will bring. Does anyone know what these originally sold for?

Of course these cards are 26 years old, hope we don't have to wait that long to see returns.

I can't even imagine how high the rainbow (crypto 4 printing plates ) will go but, a million dollars would not surprise me at all.  Six figures for the ginter x red mini is certainly on the table.  Patience and time will be the key.  Good luck to all my fellow card holders.

Can anyone briefly summarise which relatively rare cards are still 'in the wild' & what was production numbers like for Ginter X?

In the wild ginter x

Three red mini's 1/5 2/5 3/5 but, who knows if they might have been tossed before mainstreet caught on.

One silver mini   1/1

That's it for the ginter x

A bit of trivia.  When you own all four color printing plates, that is known as the rainbow.  We all know what is at the end of the rainbow.  Cool Cool To amass the rainbow of just a common player would be a monumental task but, to achieve that of a star player or any highly sought after card would be nearing the impossible.  I am still opening boxes from time to time in hopes of finding the silver mini #83.  Fingers crossed Smiley

I viewed the PSA site today and it looks like the ginter x red mini's are having a tough time getting a score of 10 overall.  I don't think it's too important since there are only five of them but, a red #83 psa 10 would be a beautiful thing to see.   Smiley

Well, managed to get an 8 pack value box, nothing too crazy in there.  Debating whether to buy some 2018/19 hobby boxes or just a few variants of the cryptocurrency card as that's all I'm mostly interested in.  Difficult buying in the UK when the market is so US based.

I saw this, and was wondering, is there a way to find out who they are in advance?

There are also Framed Mini Printing Plates (1/1) and Hobby-only Cloth (#/10) cards. The Mini Metal (3 copies - Hobby only) and new Mini Stained Glass (25 copies) options cap the list at 150 subjects.

Amazing how much these have gone up since last year, due to your crypto card, in my opinion:

What a shame...isn't this the 10 year anniversary of Cryptocurrency, I think I read that in here someplace. It would have been nice if they stuck a card in there for that. Undecided

I have a NNO #83 at PSA. Hoping to pull a 10, obviously. Might make a little coin on the sale. Fingers cross'd.

Checklist for the 2019 A&G set:       the stained glass mini's # to 25 will be nice  Shocked   ... but no Crypto in there it looks like  Sad

https://www.beckett.com/news/2019-topps-allen-ginter-baseball-cards/

So, some of you guys will have some really rare collectables I take it?

That is the upside to this, now those 2018 #83's especially the more rare ones become priceless.  Whoever made a point of collecting the high end cryptocurrency cards will reap the future appreciation in value since these are the only ones.

Just getting into these cards, will there be an Allen & Ginter X 2019 release or too early to tell? Hopefully some crypto related cards in this years series!

100% there'll be a ginter x line. There has been the last few years at least.  Selling a box of cardboard for 70 bucks each must be profitable,  right?
