I just don’t get the hype over those other cards some of you covet.  I can maybe understand the eclipse, maybe, but not the rest.  To each his/her own.  Wink

AM is just trying to fool us.  i'm beginning to see how this forum works.  talk the price down, get others disinterested and then buy low.

I dont genuinely think they are trying to throw fud out there on a non crypto card to buy them lower.  I just think it was a general comment.  TBF the crypto one is cool I'm not a big fan of the others as well.

I only see one rare card on ebay for 749.00 a ginter x black mini ungraded which might not be too bad of a buy.  I have purchased from the seller before without any issues.  I would first check with the fellow members here first to see if anyone has one they want to sell.

Best of luck with your treasure hunt. Smiley

If I wanted to buy a couple more BTC cards as keepsakes, is Ebay typically the best avenue to go?

If you want ungraded cards (or the more common cards), then yes, eBay is a good place to score a deal. If you're looking for graded cards (or the rarer cards), then I'm sure you'll get the best deal from a member on this forum.

Good luck on the hunt!

Regards,
Chris

I agree with this.  Ebay has most volume by far.

How would you rank the historical 6 Chris?  Seems that our opinions vary on the "value" line-up. I agree that the rarity factor matters, and until we get a definitive on that, we're all just speculating. Still....kinda fun to know that we're all over the map here... Cheesy

I do not collect the "historical" six, so I'll refrain from offering my opinion on those cards. Wink

Hmm...If I were to list them in order, the order would be based on my subjective aesthetic value. If we want the list to be of a more objective value based on rarity, then we'd have to find know how rare a few of the cards may be. For instance, are the gold border minis rarer than the black border minis, and are the full size silver glossy cards rarer than the full size Ginter X cards? I have no idea.

However, based on a combination of my personal aesthetic preferences and my gut instinct for rarity, I'd rank them like this:

Lowest first:

Full size base
Silver glossy
Base mini
A & G mini
Gold border
Black border
Full size black x
Black x mini
Nno
Glow in the dark / Brooklyn back (Same odds, but I prefer Brooklyn back more.)
Red x mini
Silver x mini

But who really knows?

Dolfriends, make a line up list for us would you? Could look back and see who got it right....anyone's call right now...I bet we come close  Smiley
Here's mine again.  Grin

 Lowest first:

Full size base
Base mini
A & G mini
Black border
Silver glossy
Full size all black x
Gold border
Black x mini
Nno
Brooklyn back
Glow in the dark
Red x mini

Does this sound about right?
Also, what would be the line up for the History-6?

18
204
222
259 strictly on eye appeal
84 historical significance
83 historical significance

As far as the 6 inserts go I would place in this order

18
84
259
204
222
83

As far as your other list, not counting 1/1's here is my list

Regular size base
Silver glossy
black and gold border (tied)
base mini  A&G back
base mini ( My opinion there are less of these than the A&G back)
ginter x base
NNO
ginter x mini
glow in the dark
brooklyn back
ginter x red mini

Okay, fair enough  Smiley....here's a black border that ended about 20 minutes ago, ungraded. $46. The last ungraded Gold went for $71 and $4 shipping on Jan 10th...I know because I bought it.

*Does anyone know what the odds of getting a gold border is? One in ten for the black, I think.... I just think the gold border is of greater value and I was trying to make a point...definitely not trying to upset anyone or be confrontational. Just make my point, and give opinion is all. Very interested in seeing where Becketts would stage these cards in order of value.

I would give the black border and the gold border even odds so it comes down to personal taste.  I still rank the blank back as the most valuable card of all and the printing plates just behind it.   The mini wood above the mini silver if they are ever found and the question comes up as to which one is more valuable.  I put the red mini's above the 1/1 glossys mainly for eye appeal.   Cool

I think the gold has always been worth a bit more, but now I forget where the golds are even found.... are they from Hot Boxes? Tongue

C'mon, Fattcatt. Those links are comparing apples to oranges. The gold mini is a BUY IT NOW (which is effectively an ending price). The black mini is an auction (with almost 2 days left for bidding). Plus, the gold mini is PSA-graded (and a stunning 10 grade, at that). The black mini is ungraded. The gold mini has a wildly unfair advantage in the comparison.

Chris
