I am worried more so about the look of the board and it's future, especially now being detached from the official site. I mean, honestly, these forums are about dead now with no 'official' home (bitcointalk.org who?) , so I guess the theory of "fuck it, deal with it yourself" is a decent attitude. I dig.

Well, technically, insults are considered trolling, and trolling (on more than a few occasions) is a bannable offense.
If there's someone you'd like to be reviewed for banning, Theymos has the only and final call on that. PM him. Us mods have no ban power, and ban requests can come from anybody.
That is a logical way of thinking, these are Bitcoin forums, insults would be meant to distract from such discussions, thus is in fact trolling. No, I prefer the current policy of not banning someone over a single post (unless they are a newbie), only if the problem becomes a pattern.
If not one post, then how many occurrences? Things like this are easily tracked with post history. I can probably sit for five minutes and think of one or two people, that I enjoy a good portion of their posts, could easily and happily see gone because of retarded insults.
