R&D PROGRESS
Current Progress

1. Continuous technical perfection of INT main chain

  • By the end of last week, preparation work related to test net V3.0 has been basically completed. The R&D team is currently rushing to the final test mission. (85%)
  • The testing of adding rpc interface in the main chain is still in progress. At present, the related functions of the intjs corresponding to the middleware have been completed. The implementation form and parameter return of the rpc interface will be examined and debugged for a second round based on the optimization of the previous round. (85%)
  • At the beginning of November, preliminary improvements have been made in the improvement of the main chain compression performance. For the problems and performance fluctuations caused by the extreme cases, the R&D team will troubleshoot and improve one by one. Conducted one by one investigation and improvement, the synchronous pressure testing is also being conducted. (75%)
  • A second round of testing the full-node wallet has launched. During the testing developers have identified and resolved several bugs. At present, the full-node wallet MAC version is almost completed, and the relevant debugging work of the Windows version is progressing in an orderly manner. (80%)

  • For the problems found in the transaction pool testing process, the R&D team improved the related functions. 2. INT wallet and blockchain explorer improvement

  • The testing of the full-node wallet of the web version has begun, the developers have discovered and fixed several bugs.
  • The new explorer (explorer.intchain.io) has entered the final round of testing, during which the R&D team added pending transaction records and completed the deep optimization of the explorer homepage performance.

Current Progress

1. Pre-sale of INT Esurfing Blockchain Router on China Double-Eleven Shopping Festival

  • The second round of operation test on the IOS version of APP has been successfully passed, and relevant product description materials have been finalized. INT Esurfing Blockchain Router pre-sale was officially launched on China Double-Eleven Shopping Festival. More than 400 units had been ordered in just 20 minutes after 00:00 on the first day of pre-sale. At present, the pre-sale is still ongoing, and the operation team is stepping up negotiations with the distributor's general agent and sub-agents on the sales plan.

2. Leaders from Hubei Industrial Construction Group inspect the smart town

  • The first pilot project of the smart site cooperated by INT and Hubei Industrial Construction Group has been completed with the joint efforts of both teams and was successful to be accepted. In order to further promote the deep cooperation between the two parties in INT smart site project and the actual implementation of blockchain technology in the field of Internet of Things, the INT team is continuously optimizing and strengthening the integration of the two parties in aspects of technical cooperation. Recently, the leaders of the Hubei Industrial Construction Group are conducting in-depth inspections in the smart town and having related technical discussions with the INT team. In addition, after the previous round of negotiations, both parties have reached a preliminary agreement on the technical feasibility of the Dangyang project. Next, in-depth consultation on the details of the technical plan will be carried out.

3. Equipment installation testing for the prison project in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • At the beginning of November, INT team and the prison in Lishui, Zhejiang finalized the technical implementation rules. Relevant smart information management equipment has also been installed. In the actual process of equipment commissioning, technicians have found a number of problems and proposed corresponding solutions. At present, the technical staff of both sides are discussing and analyzing the problems in the field. In the next step, the actual commissioning will be fully carried out, and the operation test of the equipment will be promoted simultaneously.

4. Advancing the bidding for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • Last week, INT participated in the bidding of the smart electronic control system in classroom of a primary school in Quzhou, submitted the bidding documents and proposed various feasible technical solutions for the project. In the process of further communication between the two parties, the school put forward some adjustment requirements according to the actual teaching scene and system controllability. In response to the fine-tuning of the project framework, the INT team carried out technical research and discussion, proposed technical solutions for the new framework adjustment, and quickly submitted additional solutions. Currently, the INT technical team is conducting in-depth communication with the school on the technical implementation of the additional solutions.

Next Step Plan

1. Continue to promote the sales of INT Esurfing Blockchain Router

  • INT Esurfing Blockchain Router jointly developed by INT and Zhejiang Telecom realized the sales figures breakthrough in the pre-sale on the Double-Eleven Shopping Festival, and the pre-sale will continue until December 12. At present, the production plan has been basically finalized, and the specific quantity of production and delivery plan will be closely adjusted based on the pre-sale status. INT team is launching a comprehensive sales promotion and channel layout, and having the communications with all levels of agents online and offline.

2. Improving the bidding documents for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • Regarding the changes in the technical framework of the smart electronic control system in classroom of a primary school in Quzhou, the INT team is actively conducting an in-depth discussion on the technical implementation and supplementing the technical proposals for the campaign bids according to the actual factors proposed by the school. At present, more detailed communication on the technology technical implementation is in progress, and the team will continue to follow up the project and the results of the bidding.

1. INT Esurfing Blockchain Routers Pre-sale on Nov, 11th

INT and Zhejiang Telecom jointly started the pre-sale of the Esurfing Blockchain Router on Taobao online store on 11th November, also known as “Double Eleven”, the biggest online shopping day of the year in China. As the first attempt of INT's applications, the Router combines blockchain and CDN technology, which not only has a cutting-edge architecture, software management functions, but also can obtain benefits by sharing idle bandwidth and storage. INT’s Esurfing Blockchain Router has been attracting broader attention around the world since news of pre-sale was released. Only 20 minutes after 0:00 on “Double Eleven”, over 400 units were ordered online. In addition, the pre-sale has also received support and aroused much attention from many blockchain media platforms such as Cointime, Bishijie. At present, pre-sale continues and INT welcome fans to share the activity with more technology enthusiasts.

On November 19-20, 2018, the 2018 Blockchain New Economy Hangzhou Summit, hosted by the Hangzhou Municipal Government and organized by the Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Municipal Finance, the Xiaoshan District Municipal Government, and the Hangzhou Daily Press Group (Zhejiang Huamei Holding), will be held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. The event is the first and the only blockchain conference hosted by Hangzhou government. The government hopes to build a highland for Hangzhou blockchain innovation, use cases and talents, create new application scenarios and new application models, making efforts to consolidate the status of Hangzhou blockchain capital.
As a high-quality project in the blockchain Internet of Things field, INT received the invitation from the organizing committee. At that time, INT representatives will discuss the future of the “blockchain+” industry that helps the economic development of the blockchain industry with guests from the government, business and academic fields.


2. INT will attend the 2018 China Blockchain Conference

Over 500 INT Esurfing Blockchain Routers Ordered in the Pre-sale

As INT Chain’s first use case application in IoT, INT’s Esurfing Blockchain Router has been attracting broader attention around the world since news of pre-sale was released. Starting from 12 am on 11th November the pre-sale was launched on the Taobao online store. As of time of writing, over 500 units were ordered online. Ordered pre-sale routers are scheduled to be sent out by 31st December 2018.


The success of the pilot pre-sale opens up a market for INT’s use cases, as well as increasing awareness and understand of INT Chain, especially with a strong partner such as Zhejiang Telecom. In future, INT’s technology will be applied to more market segments in the IoT field and will make more things connected via INT Chain.

Why did INT Create the Router?

Network and storage resource allocation, today, is still not as efficient as it can be. Home routers still have the following cases:

l Always online

l Low network resource utilization

l Unused idle computing power

Currently, enterprises have filled this gap to an extent by leasing large amounts of network bandwidth and storage space in order to provide resource sharing to better user experiences. However, there is still a huge untapped market in network and storage resource sharing with home routers.

INT co-created the Router with Zhejiang Telecom to establish a resource sharing platform for users to share idle bandwidth and storage space, which can act as edge storage and edge computing, and be aggregated into a resource pool. INT’s aim is to optimally call the recourses in the pool and export them to companies in the field of content, video, games, etc. via various capabilities such as CDN and P2P storage.

How is the INT Esurfing Blockchain Router Different?

Compared to traditional routers, the Esurfing Blockchain Router has a cutting-edge architecture and a more user-friendly experience, pre-installing with a customized operating system.
 
There are three prominent features for the Router: smart routing, CDN sharing rewards and personal private cloud.

Smart Routing

● User-friendly network settings: With a unique setup wizard and quick setup, users can simply set up a few parameters and begin surfing online.
● Powerful bandwidth management: Automatically and manually allocate bandwidth, manage download bandwidth, manage network speed and traffic of each device, and minimum bandwidth guarantee functionality.
● Equipped with an APP: The APP can remotely set up a wireless network, view the status of networked devices, and manage networked devices. Remote parental network control to add or remove access to the network for devices in the household.

CDN Sharing Rewards

Based on a traditional CDN, INT Chain have created a resource sharing system where users can earn money by sharing idle bandwidth and storage. INT developed a PoW of network resources sharing, based on INT Chain blockchain technology. The smart hardware of the router, shared CDN, edge storage, and edge computing, along with INT blockchain and the network ecosystem, all work together to fairly measure, generate and distribute incentive credits between users and businesses.

Personal Private Cloud

The private cloud system installed in the router is a network storage device suitable for a home environment with the functionality of backup and disaster recovery of family data. It is more private than a cloud disk and smarter than a mobile hard disk. You can save, view and share all the files anytime and anywhere through the app, automatically back up your mobile phone photo album without the concerns of loss of photos or lack of memory on your phone. It completely solves the inconvenience of digital data storage, and complicity of data transmission. Storage security is ensured by adopting RSA encryption.

The router has 32GB TF card storage, which is different to other similar devices, and is helpful for smooth access to the private cloud. In practice, this will mean smoother and lag free loading for movies and large photos which are cached in memory. In addition, the router has a USB 3.0 interface to support extension of storage.

What is the Reward Mechanism?

An enterprise can submit a resource rental request and pay rental charges with INT tokens. Users who share their resources are granted the INT tokens as a reward based on their resource sharing record (which can be indicated in the app we created).
 
In future, the router combined with our application scenario will be used as one of the important use cases of INT Chain as we plan to develop dApps in connection with the router. The resource sharing record of users and the resource demand of enterprises will be recorded on the chain. Through smart contracts, the settlement process will be triggered automatically, and INT token rewards will be granted to users.
 
As part of the INT main chain, the router will utilize two steps:
1. User data recorded on chain, centralized settlement;
2. Deploy smart contracts, decentralized automatic settlement.

On November 1st, the winning entries of the INT Gaia Article Competition, which has been drawing much attention, has been announced. The INT Gaia Project has now concluded. We would like to thank the INT global community for the positive response and enthusiastic participation. Although the Gaia project has come to an end, it is worthwhile for us to pay attention to the designs and articles by the creative and talented participants. We are honored to have had the chance to interview three of the winners.

Inspired by science fiction and believe the virtual world is approaching


“I have always loved science fiction especially those about a future just beyond our time where I can still relate to what goes on in the world but be amazed by what people within it think is commonplace. I don’t think we are far off from a future of one network maintaining large swaths of data, connecting to all networks while having artificially intelligent computers be our daily companions that interact with those networks on our behalf. They are the owners of our private keys and exist to make decision making in our lives seamless. We are almost there with our smartphones. And the implications of this are both fascinating and frightening.”

Know INT because of a heterogeneous multi-chain framework

“I remember reading the Polkadot white paper and being consumed with the possibilities of the heterogeneous multi-chain framework. While I loved what they were doing, I saw the more short-term power in this design by applying it to a more specific field that interacted with many networks and different data types. I went looking for other projects citing this framework or Polkadot as inspiration and came across INT. Its use in IoT is one of the best possible uses for this technology.”

“Well, I thought of what INT has accomplished and the tone they have set currently and tried to extrapolate that 60 years into the future. INT has proven they are not interested in overstating their plans or overinflating their accomplishments. They are building the foundation for a strong network with the ability to adapt. With that attitude and foundation, and after many years of progress, an open-source and cryptographically secure network that accomplishes everything you need would be the needed breath of fresh air after such an event.”

Interoperability — the most competitive advantage of INT

“In my mind, interoperation is going to be the hot topic of the decades to come. I don’t think anyone network can satisfy all needs. A network that can successfully tie the other leading networks together will, therefore, be king. What is often seen in the crypto-project space are projects that set a foundation with scaling or future functionality as a planned bridge to be crossed on the “roadmap” and just create another clone of an overcooked blockchain. INT developed a foundation from the genesis block that will scale and meet the future needs of the IoT ecosystem without accomplishing unrealistic developments. I think that alone will make them competitive.”

1. Continuous technical perfection of INT main chain

  • After the first round of mainnet testing related to token business, the R&D team has discovered and solved several bugs in the distribution of information. At the same time, in order to launch the mainnet as scheduled, the team is stepping up preparations for related work of launching the testnet V3.0.(40%)
  • The test on interface performance of rpc in the main chain is progressing. At present, INT is focusing on the optimization of rpc interface and the return of parameters and corresponding related functions of the middleware intjs. (70%)
  • The overall improvement of the main chain performance has been initially completed. Due to safety and load bearing capacity, especially in extreme cases, the R&D team will continue the improvement of INT Chain performance and the stress testing.(75%)
  • The development of the full-node wallet including the improvement of UI interface has been completed. The first-round wallet performance and interface testing has come to an end. At present, the second round of testing has been conducted. Fixing of bugs is moving forward.(85%)

1. Start sales work on INT Esurfing Blockchain Router developed with Zhejiang Telecom

  • In October, the smart gateway project on INT and Zhejiang Telecom has been substantially promoted, and many tasks have been completed. After all the functions of the APP are developed, the first round of operation testing has been passed. The second round of testing of the IOS version has started, and the relevant documents such as the product manual and product technology introduction have also been drafted. The operation team has also completed the first round of media and community advertising, and is working on a collaborative model with other regional operator channels.

2. Leaders from Hubei Industrial Construction Group will inspect the smart town at the end of this month

  • In order to further promote the INT smart site project, and fulfil the industrial layout needs of high-tech projects, the INT team assisted in arranging a series of project inspections. At the end of this month, the leaders from Hubei Industrial Construction Group will inspect the smart town, and the initial communication of the Dangyang project is also underway.

3. Continuous cooperation with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • After signing the contract of smart information management system establishment project with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang, INT has finalized the technical implementation rules. At present, all relevant technical equipment has been fully installed, and the debugging of related technical program has also started.

4. Promoting the bidding for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • At the beginning of October, INT participated in the bidding of the smart electronic control system in classroom of a primary school in Quzhou, submitted the bidding documents and proposed various feasible technical solutions for the project. After an in-depth communication, the project party recognized it and showed a strong interest in INT technology. At present, the bidding selection process is in progress, and the INT technical team continues to communicate with the project party on the implementation rules while waiting for the bidding results.

Next Step Plan

1. Promoting the sales of blockchain router with Zhejiang Telecom

  • With the approaching of Double 11 Shopping Festival, router, as the first hardware product of INT and Zhejiang Telecom, will be unveiled for the first time. It is expected that pre-sale of the product will begin on Nov 11. INT will continue to follow up related production and publicity work of the product.

2. Continue the cooperation with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • At present, all relevant technical equipment of the project has been put into operation and are being installed and debugged. The testing of equipment operation will then start. INT will adjust the technical implementation plan in regard to the actual test operation, and solve the technical problems.

NT Esurfing Blockchain Router: Pre-sale Coming Soon
INT's Esurfing Blockchain Router, designed and developed in partnership with Zhejiang Telecom will be released soon. The pre-sale will start on Taobao online store on 11th November, also known as “Double Eleven”, the biggest online shopping day of the year in China.

The Esurfing Blockchain Router has been designed as a resource sharing platform for users to share idle bandwidth and storage space, which can act as edge storage and edge computing, and be aggregated into a resource pool. INT’s aim is to optimally call the recourses in the pool and export them to companies in the field of content, video, games, etc. via various capabilities such as CDN and P2P storage. Through a smart contract, the settlement process will be automatically triggered, and the reward of INT tokens will automatically be granted to the users.

INT is focusing on the Chinese market first, so the router is initially only for sale and compatible for use in China due to the difference of mobile operators. The INT Smart Contract
Multi-chain Contracts for IoT Use

Smart contracts have been an idea since 1994 when Nick Szabo first coined the term. Relating to the general idea of digitally facilitating and enforcing a contract, smart contracts have been implemented in a wide range of applications from the simple transferring of bitcoin to more complex trees of contracts that serve as the foundation of decentralized exchanges.

Ethereum is arguably the leader in this space with the ability for anyone to create a smart contract and publish it to the blockchain for the Ethereum Virtual Machine to process whenever called upon.



There is one major handicap in the smart contracts of today, they are only able to act with the data that they are given within the blockchain they reside in. This one-dimensionality limits the capability of the contracts to a small subset of applicability and makes the execution speed of the contract dependent on the congestion in the network at the time. Smart contracts for IoT use would have to be smarter, faster and able to utilize information automatically from multiple sources of differing types.

Data storage in the INT blockchain

INT’s multi-chain architecture allows for the creation of subchains based on IoT device or purpose. The idea is to create a network of blockchains, all specifically designed for each IoT device, separate in their function but connected at their core. It does this by treating each subchain as a partition of the state with the subchain nodes processing transactions separate from other chains in order to segregate congestion and maintain availability. With this splitting up of network traffic between subchains, contract execution on one chain is not dependent on congestion experienced in another.


By using namespace region declaration, all data within all subchains is stored in the Thearchy chain and available to any contract. This gives contracts the ability to act with input from different IoT devices and any transactions within the network.

The INT smart contract

INT’s aim is to create a network suitable for all IoT applications with smart contracts that are as easy to develop as they are to use. INT uses JavaScript, one of the most widely used languages, as the smart contract language paired with the powerful and proven Node.js run-time environment as the execution engine. This pair makes learning and development cost much lower than other proprietary language/VM choices.

Node.js allows developers to easily test smart contracts locally before publishing on the blockchain, further reducing development cost and risk of unknown vulnerabilities. It is specifically designed for throughput and scalability by taking the processing and execution of data and events outside what would be the Virtual Machine and processing it locally on the node. This allows for more network throughput and more complex contracts for cheaper gas consumption.

With Node.js, users can create modules that can handle various core functions of the INT network and all subchains. These use an API that standardizes function calls, greatly reduces the complexity of interacting with the network.


Using INT’s native namespacing and the Node.js API, creating powerful, multi-chain smart contracts will be simple and cheap.

Current Progress

1. Continuous technical perfection of INT main chain

  • After all the standard functions related to the INT token were developed, the R&D team immediately followed up and completed the first round of token related testing, during which the technical members found and fixed several bugs about information flow distribution. The second round of testing will begin next week; (75%)
  • In late September, we successfully implemented new work on several rpc interfaces in the main chain and started related tests on interface performance. At present, the optimization of rpc interface and the return of parameters are gradually being carried out. Considering the test requirements for data security, we will extend the development appropriately; (30%)
  • With regard to the fork issue and performance of the main chain in extreme cases, the R&D team continued to repair and debug the relevant codes repeatedly. At present, the overall improvement is almost complete. Afterwards, we will continue to conduct more intense pressure testing; (70%)
  • The improvement of UI interface is one of the most critical development of the full-node wallet, and its importance is no less than the previous program development. At present, the overall adjustment of the wallet interface has come to an end, and then the special technical team will carry out the second round of testing; (80%)
  • The destructive testing and business testing on all rpc interfaces are moving forward. During the National Day, the R&D team continued the testing and found some new bugs. The current solution has been verified theoretically, and next the team will continue to fix the bugs; (50%)

2. Improvement of INT wallet and explorer

  • The R&D team will conduct the final round of testing on the full-node wallet;
  • The upgrading of the new blockchain explorer (explorer.intchain.io) has been carried out smoothly, the number of bugs is reduced, and the performance is improved compared with the old version. The R&D team has entered the second phase of testing and will continue the improvement.

  • After completing the sampling of the router and starting the stability testing, the development and testing work of the corresponding APP is in progress. In addition, the application for software copyrights is also in progress.

2. Signed the contract with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • After INT finalized the cooperation plan on construction of smart information management system with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang, the two parties reached an agreement after further negotiation on the project cooperation details, and finally finalized the contents of the contract. Currently both parties signed the contract.

3. Bid for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • INT was invited to participate in the bidding of a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang. At present, a series of technical solutions for the bidding have all been completed, and the bidding document has been submitted. 1. Complete the sampling of router – smart gateway hardware

  • The R&D personnel of both INT and Telecom have completed the determination of the model of the router and the self-test and debugging of the function code of the device server. By the end of September, the router sample was officially produced, and the R&D personnel of both parties started the stability test of the sample product, and continued to debug the function of the interface program of the related APP. In terms of product qualification assessment, 3C certification and communication service certification are progressing.

2. Confirm an intelligent information cooperation with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • Intelligent information construction has always been an important area for INT technology research and development and application. Since September, INT and a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang have conducted many informal discussions on the construction of an intelligent information management system. 2. In-depth discussion with Turing Award Winner Silvio Micali

On September 16th, INT Chief Architect Dr. Xiang Ruofei and the technical team attended academic forum event:“Prospects & Challenges of Blockchain and the Algorand Solution” hosted at Zhejiang University. The event gathered more than 200 blockchain enthusiasts including Professor Silvio Micali, founder of Algorand, Turing Award-winning cryptographer, and professor of computer science at MIT to share insights on the existing challenges in the blockchain technology field and the prospect for the blockchain.


During the forum, Dr. Xiang Ruofei discussed with Professor Micali about the possible impact of Shor’s algorithm and quantum computing on Algorand blockchain. Professor Micali believes that before the implementation of quantum computation, what’s to be done is to ensure the steady development of blockchain technology. It is the foundation of all things. He also believes that the development of the Algorand blockchain requires more technological innovations and attempts. Both Dr. Xiang Ruofei and Professor Micali are very optimistic about the development of the blockchain and agreed that only continuous upgrade and evolution of the blockchain technology can fulfil the needs of launching more applications.

On September 19th, the Computing Conference 2018 themed as “Empower Digital China” was held in Hangzhou. The Computing Conference hosted by Alibaba Group gathered the most influential minds of the data technology world, exploring how emerging technologies like AI, IoT, machine learning, and blockchain can be made more inclusive and have profound impacts on our economy and daily life. INT will attempt the cooperation with exhibitors on site from the perspective of INT’s business cooperation, technology development, ecological construction, etc.


4. INT officially entered I-lab Incubator

Recently, INT was selected as a high-quality IoT and blockchain project to enter the I-lab incubator. On September 18th, Yin Xiangyu, head of INT China, and Xiang Ruofei, Chief Architect of INTchain, participated in the four-stage “Orientation Entrepreneurship Training Camp” of I-lab. I-lab Incubator is a high-end entrepreneurial acceleration platform established by Shanghai Yidian Group, District Government of Xuhui, Shanghai and Microsoft (China). Relying on Microsoft’s global eco-chain technology innovation and integrating government science and technology resources and the advantages of Yidian Group, the Incubator provides rich and diversified resources for the incubation project, and provide sufficient development space and growth opportunities for the projects through high-quality platforms such as industry chain, investment and financing, market environment and alumni network. It is believed that INT will gain more rapid and efficient development after entering the Incubator.



5. Submission of design ends on September 20th

Gaia Project has been supported by fans since its launch by joining the developer community or entering the competitions. The submission of design ended on September 20. The INT operations team will then conduct a public evaluation in the next 10 days to finalize the winning outstanding works and give them awards.
