Question, would there be a differentiation between a Full Set with all denominations and a Playable Set of say $1 to $500 chips.  Would that be something chosen at the time of ordering?

***DISREGARD***

You just posted the order thread which answers my question: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sold-custom-poker-chip-bitcoin-beats-fiat-final-design-5444799

Thanks and great job!

You can select whatever quantities you would like.  I want to make this as customizable as you like.

Let me do this.  I can make a new post with an order form to make it cleaner.   I will do this once the EXACT design is complete and allow 6 full sets to be ordered (I will order 2 sets myself to make the quantity needed, we need 6 total, which would be 1,800 chips, and then I will just order the rest to make 2k total).

I want 2 full sets

though I need some clarification - above in one post you said a full set was $156 - later in the same post you said a full set was $10

please clarify.

I also agree that the denoms should be centered including the $ sign with just the numbers centered it looks off a bit with the $ sign

I will likely create a new thread once ready for sales.   There will be 2 categories:

A full set - a playable set of chips, anywhere between 200-500 chips.  This can be in any quantity per chip requested.   This is 52 cents a chip (the exact price without markup from the supplier), as I am really doing this just to make a complete playable set for myself, and wanted to pass on the opportunity for anyone else.  To get the 52 cents a chip, I need to order 2,000 chips, otherwise the price is higher.

The commemorative set would be a single chip of each, 12 total.  I was thinking $10 a set, as there would be a limited number and I was only trying to recoup the $50 I had to pay for the samples I got so far, etc.   Again, this is not designed as a money making venture, simply a cool way to commemorate the prices and dates Bitcoin Beat Fiat. Smiley

I am really only concerned about people wanting the full playable sets, as I want to allow people to order the exact mix of chips they would like for their collection.

Again, no need to pay anything up front, it's only about $1k for all the chips, so I will front that and then people can pay once I receive the order and I will send out with confirmation I have chips in hand.  (Bitcoin preferred!)

Finally, I got them to center the $ amount and make the text more legible; however, they made the $ amount black as well, but I like the white lettering for the $ better.  I have asked them to make that change, then I think it is done!

Thanks!

Ya, I'd be down for a full set and commemorative set.

I agree with your change to solid font.  That would definitely make them pop more.

And maybe this is just me, but all of the denomination markings look to be a bit off-center.  The larger numbers, like $25,000, are more noticeable.  It looks like the type-setter has the number portion centered, but then adds the $ sign in front.  I think it would look better if the whole number with the $ sign was centered, with equal spacing on both sides.  What do you think?

Samples arrived!  They look good overall, but I might see if they can do the Bitcoin Beats Fiat and the dates in a solid text to make it easier to read.

I am going to order 6 low denomination sets:

100 - $1
60 - $5
50 - $10
50 - $25
33 - $100  (my favorite looking one!)
1 each of the remainder ($500 - $50,000) 7 chips total.

Please let me know any feedback if you want a custom set, this was just my thoughts on a playable mix.

Also, I need to get an idea how many people want a full set.  Please DM me if you want to order a full set. Price for a full set if we get 5 other people besides me is $156, plus your choice of shipping.  If I am under the 2,000 chip count, the price might be a bit higher (I will confirm before I order).

And 17 commemorative (one of each).  I should have enough, I have had a few people reach out for a set.  Price will be $10 plus shipping if I can get enough people to order a full set:

Thanks Geo!

Here are some pics of the finished samples, they are sending them out Monday:

Also, Slumberjack might be interested in designing something for a case.  I have not really looked too far into this yet, but contemplating making a custom case.  This would likely be limited to 6 sets total.  More to come!

Thanks!

look nice. I would be in for some commemorative sets, maybe even up to 5 depending on the price. I do not need a full playing set.

OK, the proof is complete, here is what I am having them make.    They are going to create a proof set and send them next week.

Now is the time to get serious, as I have to place the final order.   They allow me to order a a minimum of 25 per design.  I am thinking of ordering enough to make a few complete set of playing chips, along with a commemorative set (one chip of each).

If anyone wants to provide feedback, please DM me the following:

Value   Quantity
$1
$5
$10
$25
$100
$500
$1,000
$2,500
$5,000
$10,000
$25,000
$50,000

I commit to the following - Full sets get the price at cost ( 52 cents a chip), I think a full set should be 300 chips.  Again, as suggested, we could do a high dollar and low dollar set if people want, but any order that is 300 chips or more gets the 52 cent price.   Small sets, say 1 of each, etc will be calculated after all expenses  (costs of proofs, etc.) is calculated.  Again, I am thinking no more than $20. Anyone who DM's me gets a reserved set, again no commitment, just trying to figure out how many to order and the best price I can get for all.

BTC will be gladly accepted and no payment needed until I have the chips in person.

I will share pics after the proof arrives and will post a short video comparing to a Satori, etc.

Thanks!
Mark

One thing too...  I know this is limited with only 3 complete sets..  I could break them up into a low and high denomination set of 350 each, as the complete set would be 700 chips (massive).  Or if most people just want a low denomination set for playing and prefer a complete denomination set of singles for display, this might make the most sense, then we would have more low denomination complete sets and more single sets.

Thoughts?

I like where this is going and I will definitely commit to ordering the 100k, 250k and others as this journey progresses.

I have asked them if we a limited to any set of design limitations at that price, I will find out.   The more the merrier, and we can always change up the inside/outside colors for variations.

I am going to order a proof set first and I will post pics once it arrives, it's $50 for a sample, but I think that is worth it.

If we go with the maximum denominations suggested, here is the breakdown that I see possible:

Quanity per set   Quantity   Value   Back label                   Color
90                   295          $1              February 9th, 2011         White
80                   265         $5               May 11th, 2011              Red
55                   190         $10              June 3rd, 2011               Blue
50                   175         $25               June 9th, 2011               Green
50                   175        $100             April 2nd, 2013               Black
25                   100        $500             November 17th, 2013      Purple
90                   295        $1,000          November 27th, 2013      Yellow
80                   265        $2,500          May 24th, 2017               Blue
55                   190        $5,000          September 1st, 2017       Orange
50                  175        $10,000        November 28th, 2017      Brown
50                  175        $25,000        December 25th, 2020      Dark Green
25                  100        $50,000        February 16th, 2021        Pink

This would allow for 3 complete sets of 350 poker chips (odd quantities, but trying to keep the price reasonable), and 25 single chip sets. 2,400 total.

I will definitely commit to no markup on a complete set, but there might be a small mark up on the single chip sets to pay for time and effort (I am thinking  $20 for members here, as the cost is roughly $13 for a set, but I would like to recoup my $50 for the sample).  Plus shipping costs.  I also can ship to someone as an escrow if they agree, especially for the complete sets.

I will offer any sets not taken on ebay or Twitter for a markup.

More to come, as I asked them about the possibilities.

Thanks!

Mark

Great idea for Bitcoin Poker Chips.  I did a bit of digging around and came up with a list of dates going back to the first time Bitcoin broke $1.  Dates are open for debate as I might have missed a candle wick that hit a target price earlier, so very open to corrections.  Maybe there could be a Low Roller's set of $1-$1000 and High Roller's set of $1000-$50,000 or $100,000 w/??? date or Jan 27th, 2009 (the day the 100,000th bitcoin was mined) if you wanted to keep the date theme. idk?

I was also curious about poker chip values and colors.  Chip colors are pretty consistent through Yellow $1000, but boy, do the colors vary in the bigger chips.  That said, I think I found a general consensus after researching many different poker sites and casinos.  Again, open to corrections.  Just thought I'd throw it out there.

BTW...did I say I love this idea!  Kudos Markzellers!

I am thinking of these denominations:

$50000   Tue, Feb 16 2021
$25000   Fri, Dec 25, 2020
$10000   Tue, Nov 28 2017
$5000   Fri, Sep 1.2017
$2500   Wed, May 24 2017   Or we could do $1,000 Wed, Nov 27, 2013  (this is my preference)

again, feedback appreciated, no commitment necessary.  However, I will likely limit to 6 sets of 300 and will give options to people who say they interested.

OK, some updates:

Yes, I can ask my designer to make a design proof with your required colors and denominations.
We're only able to offer ceramic chips for your project.
My current price for 2000pcs custom ceramic chips 39mm is USD0.52 per chip and USD0.49 per chip for a production and shipping of 5000chips or more.
The prices have included shipping to the USA by FedEx.
Pls check and let me know.
Kind regards,
Mandy
MandyChips

I think MandyChips is the company I will order from.  The cost for a 300 chip set $156 shipped to my address.   Not sure on shipping if you want a set, but I do NOT want to make any money off people buying a set (gets me a better price if we order in bulk).

I am thinking of 6 complete set of 300 chips.  Plus another 40 sets of 5, if anyone would be interested in a set of 5 chips (I am thinking of listing these on ebay for like $20 shipped, would offer it here cheaper).   I do plan on creating additional chips for 100k, 250, etc.

I am ordering a sample chip, and will post pics once it arrives.  I will also front the $ to order these, if you are interested in a set, please reserve them and once I receive the sets we can do an escrow if you like.

Please let me know any feedback on the design, I am curious what you think.   Also, can anyone offer help verifying the dates that Bitcoin reached these Fiat values for the first time?  I want to make sure I get that right!

Thanks!

Mark
