why isnt it working for me?

define 'isn't working'? Have you tried flushing your dns?  ipconfig /flushdns  - britcoin.co.uk is resolving to 109.75.183.105 for me.

if i go to that ip all it says is 'its works!' how do i run that flush, i typed it in run bar but nothing happens
For me at least, www.britcoin.co.uk still isn't working. Just plain britcoin.co.uk is, though. You might have to type "http://britcoin.co.uk" into your browser's URL bar to stop it automatically adding the www.

Matched my bid.  Site seems to be fully working again.  Go forth and multiply (...your BTC into GBP)

Many thanks to the admins!

Britcoin is coming back up after a lot of testing. Also, the mininum transaction level will be siginifantly lowered in a matter of minutes. The bids will be matching imminently as well.

We will be daily processing withdaws and deposits from now on.

The one day i decide to take the plunge and buy some BTC and the most reputable looking website is down! I appreciate the service though, it looked the most trustworthy  Smiley There is a worrying amount of attention being brought to bitcoin at the moment, i hope the prices don't go up till i have some Cheesy

That's a lot of manual work (read: high costs) that would need to be re-couped through charges, most likely. People don't come (very) cheap.

I'm also comfortable with proof of ID, and to be honest I think it's the way markets will need to go if they want to ward off being shutdown - although if governments go after Bitcoin in general, then that will be a bit of a moot point.

Then they can set up their own exchange and use that instead. Or convert to dollars and trade on Mt. Gox.

This is, of course, pure speculation.

I wonder if we'll have to provide proof of identity in future? I'm fine with that myself, but I guess not UK people won't be...
