I understand that a lot is going on right now and commend you for taking the initiative to switch to a new server BEFORE shit hits the fan, I would just like to know if we can expect much of a delay with transfers and support tickets as a result of what's happened tonight?

Regards.

We're going to do our best to keep our goal (but not always reality) of processing transactions daily.

Due to the recent events at MTGox.com, we at Britcoin have decided to
move our servers to a new location. MTGox suffered an SQL injection
which means access to the site's funds were in the hands of the
malicious hacker. As such, until we see evidence to the contrary, for
security reasons we are assuming that MTGox has none of it's client's
bitcoins. For this reason, we have withdrawn their access to our servers
and the sensitive information on those servers.

While our servers were separate, we were purchasing server space from
MagicalTux, the owner/operator of MTGox. We have already moved all our
customer bitcoins to a wallet which has newly been created and has the
highest measure of security possible. The GBP deposits of course are
still safe in our business bank account as well.

We will put Britcoin up again as soon as possible, but only once we are
confident we have the highest level of security our users deserve.

Thanks for the update. I personally have a lot more faith in an exchange like britcoin which has open sourced its currency exchange platform and accepts openid. I wish you all the best in your investigation.

Will

The money that I withdrew now has the status "finished", but how long is it until I see it in my online bank account?
I suppose I wait "3-5 working days for payments to pass through clearing"?
Sorry for being so ignorant, but I hardly ever do stuff online  Huh

Depends, but my payments have usually been within a day, which I am assuming is via the Faster Payments Service.

If your bank is not signed up to this then I am guessing it could be 3+ business days.

Thanks for the reply... patience is much needed with this sort of thing Smiley

can see in the orderbook trades that should be happening, but everything seems to have stopped.

Has britcoin worked continuously for a day since they migrated server?

Hello everyone... I'm new to Britcoin and the forums.
On Monday, I withdrew some money for the first time using Britcoin, I must say the site is great, very easy to use.
But today, it's still "Verifying", and I'm wondering if it's taking longer than it should?
(probably not, but I'm just a bit cautious seeing as this is my first time using the site)

Sorry everybody this one is my fault, I moved the server over to suExec and suPHP.  I thought everything was working, but apparently not, ... then i added csrf protection and things got interesting.

Everything is functioning correctly now.

So sorry about this. I had to leave 2 of our developers in charge of the site because these few days I'm in London speaking to the banks.

Everything should be fixed now.

Thanks for keeping us updated genjix.

Everything should be fixed now.
Looks like there are still a few problems genjix (this is generated when viewing a request)
Code:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare enable_errors() (previously declared in /var/www/britcoin.co.uk/errors.php:4) in /var/www/britcoin.co.uk/errors.php on line 6

and http://support.britcoin.co.uk/ is still showing the internal error.
