I just read through all 606 pages of this thread in 26 minutes, and my eyes are now turned inside out.  Cry

Seriously, I've been perusing this forum and some other bitcoin-related sites for a few hours on and off, trying to figure out the best way to get my feet wet. I don't plan on doing any bit mining, my hardware is old, but I do have things to market - been in woodcrafts for a long time and have been selling on Etsy, so I may try a personal shopping cart with bitcoin. I also create 3D graphics on a serious hobbyist level for occasional cash. Might try some light investing too. Name is Ken, from Wisconsin.
I like cheese, beer, and home brewed wine. I hate football.

Hello everyone!!

First off this board has been full of wonderful information and have helped me begin my research into Bitcoins.
I would like to give a particular thanks to those who posted the information on OpenCL as I had some issues
getting the GUIMiner to detect my video card. This forum is certainly filled with a wealth of information.

I am here because of an academic interest in Bitcoins and many other on-line currencies.
I am currently working on a college paper for my masters in economics and have decided
that the subject will center completely on digital currency's. In several of my past papers
I looked at currencies; such as, Lindens from Second life, WOW gold, FFXI gil, and many
others. I like to try an experience how things work, and try out various areas of the on-line
currencies.

Anyway thought this looked like a good spot to say hello.
I hope that I will be able to ask numerous questions on this board.

Sincerely & Respectfully,
Waveaura

My name is Chris.  How many posts do I need to be able to reply to a post on another board?  I've been a member here since 2011 and now that I have a question, I just realized I'm not able to post.

i am FoBoT
i started doing distributed computing in projects like Folding@Home, RC5 and SETI@Home back in 2001, where we donated processing power to 'solve' things
dropped out of that around 2008
i think i heard of bitcoin around 2010 maybe, but wasn't smart enough to figure out how it could grow

so last week i started mining bitcoin and yesterday i thought i'd see how litecoin works, since i have some computers with decent cpu but onboard graphics video

also interested in crypto currency from a political point of view

Hello, I'm the latest new guy. How's that for stating the obvious. Does anyone read this thread? Lol.

I'm actually not that new, I've been floating around on and off (more off than on) for the last couple years. Figured I should set up an account as I'm actually wanting to open my mouth and contribute. Yay!
