Hey everybody. I'm new to this idea and think its awesome. Just starting out in slushs pool. Running RPC Miner on a MacBook Pro. (Not worth it to run on GPU for me) anyways just thought I'd introduce myself

What have I gotten myself into this time?  Starting off with a GPU on bitcoin and hoping when the time comes to get into other crypto currencies.  ¡Viva la Revolución!

Hi,
I heard from BTC a few years (?) ago but wasn't interedted. Don't know exactly when. The only thing i remember was the exchange rate of $35/BTC if I'm not mistaken. Then, a few months later I found BTC interesting but the rate was at ~$2/BTC.

So I decided for myself that BTC has no future and didn't care about it. Recently I have bought a HD 7870 for hashcracking (Games + AMD Driver = BSOD). And so I looked in Bitcoin again and was vexed to not have 50x my money ;_;

Atleast I have mined 50€ and I'll observe this because BTC could be soooo big. And I'm too curious with the skyrocking of the prices. Smiley

Hi!  Finally done reading through all 606 pages! j/k

I'm both new and not new to Bitcoin.  I first heard about it a couple years ago and I started to get into it, then I guess I just lost interest or forgot about it, maybe after not finding an easy to set up miner (if I was on Linux)...  I don't remember.  I do remember the huge block chain download that my terrible connection couldn't handle in a decent time.  Maybe I thought, "Eh I'll try this later."  Then my computer got fried in a storm and I had been without a good desktop for almost two years, til a couple months ago when I built a new one finally.

So then I heard Max Keiser talk almost rabidly (he said it _could_ be the second coming of Christ!...) about Bitcoin on the Alex Jones show, and how it was then at $40, and the whole Bitcoin excitement slammed me pretty hard.  I've been obsessed ever since.  I have OCD so that just multiplies the obsession. ;p  Yep, I'm re-reading this to make sure it's "just right", OCD style.  Anyway...

Now I'm in a constant state of excitement, anxiety, and feeling like I started too late.  I've been scrambling to at least get started before Bitcoin really takes off.  I went into debt $800 buying an ebay November pre-order Jalapeno, and another one from BFL a week ago (before the price jump).  Btw, if anyone knows that my purchase/s was/were a big mistake, please let me know before it's too late. ;p  So far it seems good, since BFL is starting to show itself as not a scam and that they're on the edge of shipping, but I'm paranoid that the difficulty will go up 10x by next month before I get my miners... sigh.

So either I got into this too late (though it's still WAY early in the entire lifespan of Bitcoin I'm realizing, if nothing huge happens and kills it somehow) or at just the perfect time.  I hope it's the latter.  I do kick myself all the time now for not mining 2-3 years ago and buying BTC for under $1!!

I'm GPU mining Bitcoin at 84Mh/s, and also Litecoin now at 50-100Kh/s and that's pretty fun.  I set up four computers at the school I intern at, three at work, my laptop, and this box for LTC, bwahaha.  Btw, I'm sure at least some of you feel the same as me when I say that when I'm dealing/playing with BTC, I feel more free and actually motivated to care about money in general!
