I am mostly in it for fun at this point..

That's as good a reason as any, so long as you're not operating under any 'get rich quick' fantasy.

Ha, yup. And hey, when/if my Butterfly Labs ASICs show up and I can recoup the costs in a few months, great! If not, oh well. It was fun Smiley

Rather than the usual "Don't waste your time/power" comment....

Welcome and thanks for adding another Node to the network Smiley

Hope yours and my ASIC devices are on the move soon, Otherwise happy mining mate.

I appreciate that. I know I am a tiny guppy in a giant pond of sharks (or giant blue whale in the case of ASICMiner), but I am having fun..

I plan on buying a little Raspberry pi and making a little mining rig when my ASICs come.. and maybe get ahold of some used GPUs on craigslist or something Smiley

Cool well keep us updated.

Hello yall!

I am pretty new.. Currently just mining from my macbook pro.. Though I orderd some Butterfly labs tech.. I know it wont be here for awhile.. but as long as the Fiancée doenst find out I bought them, I think I will be ok.. Smiley

You're screwed, brother.  And mining on a macbook anything is a waste of effort and energy.

Yeah, Well I am getting around 70-80Mh/s, and I know I am only drawing about 60watts when I am letting it do just mining. Plus half the time I am at work, and I bring my personal laptop with me..

I may not be making a ton.. but if http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ is right.. currently (I know it will get much worse come ASIC time) I should be making about $2 a month.. I know.. fat roller!

I am mostly in it for fun at this point.. But with a Jalapeno and a  'Little' Single SC ordered.. who knows.

I come to bitcoin from the online poker community.  I'm enthused by the concept and am enjoying the learning process and making my first transactions.  Thanks for the wealth of info, I hope to be able to contribute.

How did you link online poker with Bitcoins..? XD

I run poker-related websites that support and promote online poker rooms.  For a couple years we've worked with Switch Poker, that runs games in Euros but accepts Bitcoins for deposits and cashouts.  I think they might have games in bitcoins now too but I'm not certain.  Then recently Micon from Seals with Clubs got in touch with us to do a review on one of our sites.  Instead of doing the review, I've spent a few dozen hours doing the requisite bitcoin reading.  Seals runs only in bitcoins btw - you deposit, play, and cashout with them.
