I installed the bitcoin client back in 2011 and then forgot about it. I rediscovered bitcoin earlier this month and got really interested. I managed to get lucky and generate the vanity address 1timANDoUGAzz8f54VdMgThWVLgi9Qx3e. Unfortunately, it's incorrectly capitalised, but I decided it's not worth the extra 2 months to generate a new one.

Smiley  Just signed up to check things out. I also have a review to post once I get past the newbie status. I'm already fairly familiar with Bitcoins.

Cheers!

Hello. I am an ex software developer from Canada, I often drink in the park now.

My hobbies include collecting precious metals and computer security. I find bitcoins both fascinating and profitable.

Looking forward to joining the community. This newbie jail sucks.

new to bitcoin, think it's a captivating idea though pretty skeptical about it's possibilities for large-scale adoption. still, fun to learn about so i'll be around!

Been using Bitcoin for a while now... and yet I just stumbled across the largest Bitcoin forum on the net.  Proponent of BTCjam and the benefits of P2P lending.

Hey, it seems like getting out of the newbie box is going to take awhile.

I'm working on some BitCoin related websites that'll launch as soon as I acquire some more coin and find an area to promote it.

What kind of projects are you working on, or is it secret?

Not secret!

I've ran a 'Free Second Life Linden' site since 2007, and I'm basically going to open one up for BitCoins soon. Where users do things like watch youtube videos/ads, facebook LIKE pages, complete offers, register to sites, etc. and earn BitCoin. In addition to BitCoins users could also withdraw the earned rewards to Second Life, or redeem for amazon gift cards, etc. The site is done, minimum withdrawal is 0.01 BitCoins. I just need to buy/trade for more. Ive traded $L for some, but need more to be on the safe side. On average I'd assume most users would only be able to earn like 0.25 BTC, more only if they put in a lot of effort in 'Tasks'.

Other sites I was thinking about were an online casino where users could compete in skill based games to see who gets the highest amount of points. I'd also like to try my hand at a marketplace.

Those are probably the best three ideas I have. The codes all done from previous projects. Ive had lots of random virtual currency websites over the past few years, so its basically just reworking them for BitCoins and seeing if theres any interest.

Cool idea.  The casino concepts seem to be grabbing hold now.  I imagine once the big players (Top Bet, and Bovada) see the opportunity they will jump in as well.  I imagine that is going to be good for coin in the short term, but long term I don't know how that plays to the credibility.
