Hi there, new to bitcoins although I've done a lot of reading and got myself quite excited about it. I'm eager to get into the market soon but it's proving difficult to actually buy bitcoins from the UK at all! I've made transfers to Intersango and Mtgox, both of which have been pending for some time now, and lots of websites seem to need prior reputation in order to do anything. I guess something will happen eventually...

It may be there to get rid of trolls but it is still pissing off newcomers.

Hello,

I first started mining using my Mac Pro. It does make an excellent machine for mining due to these qualifications:

- Includes already an ATI Radeon 5770.
- Two more full sized PCIe slots.
- 1 kW power supply.
- Boots Linux and Windows to run the best mining software.

I did build another miner using parts from the thrift shop and a new power supply - but the power supply burn out! So I have to use the Mac Pro again because I can not afford another power supply.

Gidday,

My name is Ian Knowles and I am the director of an Australian software company CIYAM Pty. Ltd. (www.ciyam.com).

I am planning to set up an open source project in which bitcoin payments will be made available for completing tasks that I (or other willing payers) wish to sponsor in order to further the project's development.

Details about opportunities to earn bitcoin working on my open source project will be posted to this forum (where applicable) in the following months.

Cheers,

Ian Knowles.

Hi, I just got started on Bitcoin. Not sure if the electricity is costing more han I'm earning, currently.
I tried to get a NameCoin address but no luck so far, maybe it's being on a Mac that makes it complicated.
I do graphics and make 3D stuff for Virtual Worlds, SL, InWorldz, Open Sim, etc mainly trees and plants... happy to do so for Bitcoin.

Hi, I'm very new to bitcoins but am loving almost every minute of it.

I like to support the bitcoinomy by buying and selling goods with BTC, avoiding exchange.

I'm currently looking for more ways to pay bills and invoices using bitcoins. Can anyone recommend some people or exchanges I can go to to spend my bitcoins, and have the recipient of my bitcoins send a nearly equivalent amount as a bank transfer, or bank ACH from their bank to the bank of the entity I wish to pay (Pacific Gas & Electric, my landlord, Endicia, vendors, etc.) (I don't have a bank account.)

I'm also looking for convenient bitcoin to cash in mail exchanges usually.

If you want to buy bitcoins and you can send a bank transfer or bank ACH for me, or USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation $USD cash to the address of my choosing, PM me.

Hi,

I'm kind of new to Bitcoin. I'm from northern Greece, and I've understood that Bitcoin uses digital signatures (cryptography) and proof of work to create blocks. Very interesting technology. I've been mining some only so I can learn more about Bitcoin. Very interested in the upcoming P2P decentralized mining pool. To people who are my friends or curious people I sometimes explain the technologies behind Bitcoin. I don't want people to use Bitcoin if they do not understand exactly how it works. I've had the luck to understand it, and I've talked to many others who also do.
