please do so! and get a post Smiley
don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Hello, my name is Keith. I have been reading up on BTC for a few months now but have slacked off on getting involved and investing. Might as well just jump in though, I see great things for BTC in the long-term and it seems like we're nearing a great buy (or rebuy) period!

See you all around the forum,
Keith

Hi board,

I've been following Bitcoin for a while now, however i'm a newbie to posting here.

Just to introduce myself...

I come from a Computer Science background, i graduated in 2003 and now work as a Developer for one of the big names on the internet (not Google but one of the others that everyone knows Wink).

Although my background is on the technical side it's actually the economics that first got me interested in BTC; however i'm also interested in the P2P and Cryptography aspects.

In terms of the economics, i really see the value of a global currency that isnt 'debt money' at the mercy of the Central Banking system. I'd like to see BTC go head to head with traditional currencies in a free market type situation.

I have a few BTC myself but not as much as i'd assume most ppl on these boards have.
i plan to keep my coins for a rainy day rather than go in for speculating; however i might sell out if the price is right.
I think that speculation at this point in the game is probably quite damaging as it would lead to over-valuation/bubble type situation while we don't have more real infra in place. However, as i said earlier.. i'm not above selling out on these principles if the price is right Smiley

Overall i am here because i'm very interested in the technology and economics of this project and hope to have some interesting discussions on these boards.

Cheers,
Roo

Hey all

I just found out about Bitcoins a couple of days ago, and I'm very excited about it. I've lately experienced an increasing interest in cryptographic hash functions (without which Bitcoin could not be), and now I see what wonderful things they can be used to. I'm very excited to see how this goes.

I just wish I had found out about it 6 months ago Smiley ($313 per month for a 2x5870 setup!!!  Shocked)

Hello people!

I was actively trading BTCs a lot on the IRC channel under this username a few months ago right before the price exploded. Signed up here because I'd like to (in due time, once my newbe status dissolves Smiley) sell stuff on the markets here. I sell Zimbabwean banknotes on various forums throughout the internet and I figured some people here might be interested in trading hyperdeflated currencies for hyperinflated ones.
