New Guy checking in, Been lurking for a while and reading up on all the info and tips. Will be posting questions soon.  Wink

Currently running 6970's one machine which is my gaming/day to day machine and the other is just for mining and its running a 6950 flahsed to 6970 with an Arctic Cooler to keep temps down.

I am running 380mhash on each so that puts me at 760mhash total. I can push 420mhash on my 6970 but I throttle it back some just to keep temps down.

Thanks
Jay

Hi all,

been lurking for quite awhile.. finally made an account.

currently mining with about 2.4 Ghash .. more hardware on the way  Smiley  ... This could become an expensive hobby...  Wife has already banished my rigs to the garage..   Just wait till this winter when she's freezing cuz I've re-routed the furnace feed to the garage ...  MUHAHAHAHA !!! she'll be doing some re-thinking then  *evil grin*

Anyways, just dropped in to say Hi.

Regards,
Sigg

Hey guys. 2nd day miner here. I deleted all my COD, BFBC2 and WoW and converting my gaming rig for mining. Grin So far mining on Saphire HD5770 (960/300) with guiminer (215Mhash) on Slush's pool. getting 2nd card in mail in a couple of days. I'm getting my feet wet to see if it's worth for me to spend $$$$ to build faster (4xGPU) rig. really want to learn to mine on Ubuntu with more sophisticated miners.

Got interested on Bitcoins to buy a game  (Portal and Portal 2) ...
... and have both an FPGA board and an ATI Radeon GPU  ...
Could put my greedy hands on a small Nvidia Tesla cluster (16 GPU) but just for small experiments

Hi all,

Sabi here.  I'm new to BitCoin mining, but since I STILL have 2 5850's I figured it was worth trying.  I'm getting about 340 Mh/s from each card, and electricity is cheap here in the Midwest (about 8 cents a kWh).  It's a pretty interesting hobby.  I'm even thinking of heating my garage this winter with my miner rather than powering up a space heater. Smiley

Anyway, it's nice to "meet" you all.

I'm tweakedgeek.... been mining for a few weeks (pool, don't have a huge rig). I'm doing it more for the fun than anything...

I mine with:

My gaming pc, has two radeon 6970s
My kids gaming pc, has one radeon 6830
The wife's pc, has one Radeon 5770

Hopefully at least paying for electricity, but seeing how the market looks over past couple days you never know.

My full time gig is as a High Performance Computing system administrator, which probably explains why this bitcoin idea is so interesting to me. Distributed computing and HPC are similar in some regards. Neat stuff.

Also looking for ideas for BTC related websites... I can write scripts in PERL, PHP and starting to play with Python a little. I was thinking about creating a site to sell web hosting for bitcoins. Anyone think that's a good idea?

Hi im Hashasim, been lurking forum as guest mostly from googling questions about bitcoin. Have known about bitcoin for 2 to 3 months, since Gavin went on ThisWeekInStartups basically. Decentrallized fixed-growth currency is the way out of the worlds financial mess, total advocate here.
