Hey, it seems like getting out of the newbie box is going to take awhile.

I'm working on some BitCoin related websites that'll launch as soon as I acquire some more coin and find an area to promote it.

Best of luck with that. Will the site sell merchandise or services?
I don't care, just trying to get my post count up lol
NO I do, what did you have in mind for the sites or is that a trade secret?

Hi, hey, uhhhhmmm, helo?

I've known BTC for about few months know. Mining a bit while i'm at uni and enjoying free electricity. Just for fun, as i'm not gonna get any bucks out of my nvidia card and don't expect it either. And doing some daytrading at mtgox.1 Currently writing mtgox bot framework for automating certain trades. All in the name of fun of course.

Uh, did i mention, i've been lurking these forums for some time now? :-)

1. Spoiler alert: i have too much time. Well had, but still.

Hi All,

I've been mining for a couple of days at BTCGuild and after a windows crash my guiminer wouldn't connect. At first I blamed myself some sort setting i forgot but a quick google search lead me to this forum and I read that they are under a ddos attack.

As a newbie I can't post in the tread about BTCGuild but I want to wish eleuthria best of luck with the attack and a Big

I like the forum so far lots of information to read.
I heard about it Bitcoin on a http://tweakers.net/ trough a news article about the Mt.Gox Hack.

Lol! Interestingly, the Mt. Gox fail may have done more for BTC than if it were smooth sailing.

Hi,

Well I never realised there was a newbie restriction or I would have registered a while ago. I'm currently hacking together a multipool implementation in python that is designed for personnel use.

Hello! I like this forum a lot.

One question / observation:

Why is it so hard to get involved with Bitcoin? It seems this way in general--you have to put in a lot of time and effort just to get going. That goes for funding accounts at the exchanges, mining, trading on #bitcoin-otc, participating in this forum, etc. You have to really want to participate.

Umph... Walk in to a bank, and say "I want to open an account", Does not enormous difficulty begin at that Moment for Many ?

Hello.  Nice to meet you all...

I'm new here.  Just learned of bitcoin a couple days ago on Youtube.  I watched the video on how bitcoin forgoes banks and traditional currency and whatnot, and was intrigued.

Immediately, I went to learning about it and giving a (pathetically weak) attempt at mining with my CPU as my graphics processor does not seem to want to do anything correctly.  (I am not looking for help, really...  I am used to my GPU sucking all the way around.  Wasn't there a time when NVidia was a respected brand??)

I look forward to participating in the forums as much as I can... but don't see myself answering questions right off.  I have a knack for computers, and am not "computer illiterate," but am a welder by trade... doesn't much assist in the production, distribution, or anything else contributing to bitcoins.

I have already been to the bitcoin faucet and got my first 0.001 BC, and have signed up with what apparently used to be called Slush's pool and earned myself an additional .002 in the last two days, so am starting out heavy at .003.

3.0 Mhash/s isn't really good, is it?  Cry

Anyways, I should have split this up to several posts to get to my 50.  Take care, look forward to meeting you all (or some), and will see you around the MB's!
