I've been involved with digital currencies in various forms since the late 1990s.  I'm suprised at how few people in that business I see here; maybe they've all changed forum names since the e-gold debacle and days at dgc.chat Smiley

Over the years I started many businesses geared towards inching acceptance of e-gold and other digital gold currencies into the mainstream, and took a sabbatical from the business during the great shakedown of '07.  I am hoping to get involved in Bitcoin-related commerce projects, particularly plug-n-play adaptations for WordPress, FB pages and other common media.

Hello folks. "newbie" here looking to break free of this cage.

 Smiley

I like walks in the park, french movies from the 70's, and bouncing bitcoins off of strippers butt cheeks.

Hello, I am a new excited member of the community, and I can't wait to see how everything works, become a miner, maybe buy some coins, I will see. For now I have to try to get access to the other forums where I have tons of questions.

Nice to meet you!

I am the gardener; I care for the leaves.

The Bitcoin concept seems interesting.  It is the first serious attempt at creating a de-centralized, non-commodity backed electronic currency that I can recall.  I'm excited to play my small part in it.

Hi,

I'm Pletoss. I'm a developer and a miner of the new bitcoin mining pool www.btcmp.com. I wanted to describe it and offer some support here too, but seems i need a couple more posts to do that. Of course it has 0% fee and we're always incorporating the bleeding edge of pool features like native bitcoind longpolling, but more on that in a separate thread, once i'm able to.

Cheers

don't be so negative, the 50-post-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

Howdy everybody.  In addition to gold and silver I decided to diversify into BTC  Cool

Btw:  It is interesting to note exactly WHO is authorized to handle Federal Reserve Notes (so called "USD")

§ 411. Issuance to reserve banks; nature of obligation; redemption

Federal reserve notes, to be issued at the discretion of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the purpose of making advances to Federal reserve banks through the Federal reserve agents as hereinafter set forth and for no other purpose, are authorized. The said notes shall be obligations of the United States and shall be receivable by all national and member banks and Federal reserve banks and for all taxes, customs, and other public dues. They shall be redeemed in lawful money on demand at the Treasury Department of the United States, in the city of Washington, District of Columbia, or at any Federal Reserve bank.
