Hey Folks,
I'm in the process of starting up a weekly podcast covering news, discussion topics and interviews in the bitcoin world.

If you're interested in helping, an adult (or at least act like one, I don't babysit), drop me a PM and we can talk in more detail.

Hello I'm new to Bitcoins. A good friend of mine first told me about it and how people are mining for digital "coins" thru their GPU. Ever since I have been lurking around on the forum and wiki pages to learn as much as I can. I have a measly Nvidia 9800GTX and have it OC'ed to the max at 41Mhps. Hopefully I will contribute more often as I get to learn more about the genius of bitcoin and the programming behind it all.

Hello, I am a new miner, I was trying to get in contact with [Tycho] to see if he could help me troubleshoot an issue I am recently having with Deepbit but it seems I can only post here right now.

Hi all,

My name is Jean-Serge, I just want to say hi to all, even though I've been lurking around for a while. My specialty is in Flash action script game design and had a gig as an ASIC design engineer for a while. My main interest in this new currency is mining and I aim to work on create a low cost power efficient ASIC to mine bitcoins. Because it seems that as the network increases processing power as a whole, it becomes cost prohibitive to cram a lot of servers in a small amount of space. I know it is being attempted by several people, but I will try my best.

On my spare time, I write games for fun. Now that bitcoin is out, I plan on implementing this currency into the game.

I am fairly new to bitcoins.  I am currently working on a website to promote the use of bitcoins and to share information.
Bitcoins are the most exciting thing I have found in a while (after sex).   I am trying to dive in and understand all I can and help promote the platform.

I discovered Bitcoins  just before the price doubled, from the Gawker and a couple of other articles. Since then I've been following this forum, including the "mining" threads.

I've researched the costs of building a mining system, not so much because I'd expect to make a lot of bitcoins with the ever increasing difficulty, but because I'd like to have my own desktop supercomputer: I've been researching trading systems for stocks & commodities and while alpha can be quantitatively achieved, it requires enormous number crunching capability. The solutions I was considering before didn't include GPUs, now they do.  Building a bitcoin mining system might be an easy introduction to GPU computing. Right now I am trying to understand the programming resources available for Clear CL vs CUDA, ATI vs. NVIDIA.

As an anarcho-capitalist I love the idea of bitcoins, and a bitcoin economy; but I can see many barriers to widespread adoption. For now, and for a long time I see it as a plaything for hobbyists, a vehicle for speculators, and as a medium of black-marketeers. Perhaps when the US government finishes Zimbabweizing  the economy and the currency people will turn to bitcoins, and it will then be a life-saver for many.

Hello.  I'm a miner, only a few weeks old.

You know, I realize that slapping a GPU into a mobo isn't that tough, but I have to say I'm pretty impressed.  Were you at least weaned off of breast milk before you got started?

And you're not impressed that I can speak and type English?  Smiley  Shit man, I became an astronaut at 10 days, this is easy.

lol, I wish I was that good.
