That is because most of the wins were from one people.
It is like buying lotto. But there are no many ppl involving at it. The chance of wining the jackpot is higher than it. It is sad to hear op close it.

Hey everyone, unfortunately I'm going to shut down pevpot, and make this draw the last one Sad

I'd like to thank everyone (especially Dooglus) for all their feedback, and to everyone who played. But the the site hasn't got the sort of traction I'd like to see in order to continue operating it. I was really hoping to see >100 bitcoin lottos, which would make the draw a lot more fun.  It's more than likely my fault for not actively marketing it, and getting it intuitive enough for casual users. But with bustabit's increase in popularity and volume (right now, >200 people online!) I really have my hands full.

Thanks for playing everyone! And good luck to the final winner of draw #11

Sad Sad I was playing every week. Oh well, glad to hear the success with bustabit's and I look forward to your future projects.

Ryan: you should strip non 0-9A-Za-z characters from the address before attempting to validate it.

Wow, talk about an over reaction!

OK, fine! Don't strip non 0-9A-Za-z characters from the address before attempting to validate it!

Just kidding.

Do you have any interest in me taking over the operation of the site from you? Or would you rather it just go away?

Well, I tested it with a quick address I created on Bitaddress.org and I Got validation error: Invalid value for win_address
Do you first have to send money to a Lottery address and then fill in the fields here? https://www.pevpot.com/play

No. I'm not sure how you got this wrong.

1. Make an address:

2. Fill in form:

3. Submit form, get deposit address:

I'm guessing you copy/pasted the private key from bitaddress instead of the Bitcoin address? Or you didn't copy the whole address?

Actually, I just tried using "15EbrqLqRttTHW2wsebCuRd7ojgCeL9uH3 " (with a space on the end) and got "Got validation error: Invalid value for win_address". So maybe that's what you did wrong. Don't copy/paste any extra spaces around the address.

Does the system check your sender address against the lottery address and then validate that you send money and only then link your Nickname against that? So if you did not send money, it will not validate the Nickname?

The way it is described, it sounds like you have to supply a winning Bitcoin address and a Nickname linked to that address and then type it into those fields and then send BTC to your winning address and by some miracle, Ryan sends that money to the lottery address to join the pot.

I do understand that Ryan needs a address, where he can send the winning after the draw was done, and that you need to confirm that it was you. What happens if you just fill in a Nickname and a random address before you send BTC to the lottery address?

Where do you send the money to buy the tickets? The lottery address or the address you filled in for the winning address?

Forwarding address is like a private deposit address. If you need that, it will be indeed generated on the server and Ryan has control over it. Just like all gambling sites with private deposit addresses.

Explain something to me please. If I choose to play from anywhere, I fill in two fields. The one for a Nickname and the other for a Bitcoin address I have previously created. Right? The explanation then says, " All money sent to your forwarding address, will automatically be forwarded to the lotto address (minus only that to cover mining fee costs).

How do you have access to the private key to forward money from the forwarding address to the lotto address? I think I am missing something here? or is there some script not running on my computer that creates a forwarding address, when you click on the " create forwarding address " option?

Please explain.  Huh

Couple typos/grammer errors I saw on the page:
  • The https://www.pevpot.com/how-it-works has a link to the provably fair page that is incorrect. Using a _ instead of a - .
  • Grammar error under #2 on How it works page: Players buy tickets using bitcoin. For every (non-dust) satoshi sent you gets 1 ticket to win. That should be get instead of gets.

Is it legal? In which jurisdiction the lottery operates?

At the very bottom of the page, you should see a line "Owned and operated by MoneyPot S.L.R. a Costa Rican gaming company (License No. 3-102-700828)" there.

Can i send from bittrex address?
I don't think so. You need to have the control of the private key to sign a message.

Please take a look at the "Play from anywhere" on the right hand side on https://www.pevpot.com/how-to-play. You don't need to sign any message to collect your prize, and hence you don't need to have the control of your bet address nor your prize payment address.

Is there a step by step how to register account?

I'm using blockchain.info

It is easier for you to play the game without registering your address. Take a look at the "Play from anywhere" on the right hand side on https://www.pevpot.com/how-to-play.
