First of all, nobody has the time nor effort to invest $1 every day, that's just an unnecessary hassle.

You also forget that the market was very different in the first three of those five years compared to now.

There's actually a tool available that shows how much you would earn if you invested regular amounts in BTC: http://dcabtc.com/

Starting two years ago, and investing $1/daily would only yield around $1064 (compared to a $730 investment). Not that impressive really.

This is all of course very, very cool, only there is one small, very minor problem.
You can invest, see how your capital grows, but waking up in one day, you can see 504 Bad Gateway Timeout and say goodbye to your money.
And this is the worst thing for any person.

Yeah, but 5 years ago,the Bitcoin price was under 1K USD(it was 500-600USD,if I remember correctly) and nobody back in 2014-2015 was expecting Bitcoin to hit a price above 10K USD.
Buying BTC for only $1 every day isn't a very smart choice as well, because of the transaction fees and the simple fact, that no BTC seller will sell you only $1 worth of BTC,because it looks pointless.

Yeah, but I think the point of this post is to get us to see how important is investing in bitcoin. Even though, you are not actually gonna save 1$ per day but any amount of investing will work. Bitcoin price pumping is indeed a very good investment for every individual that want to invest. Bitcoin is continuously going up, although we all know that after a bull run there's gonna be a downtrend and that's normal, But as you can see after those downtrends bitcoin is still going up and the price of it is getting better.

In my case, as a freelance graphic designer that accepts crypto. I do save the every 5% of my salary or every project in my bitcoin paper wallet. This is for my family and for my kid's educational fund in the next decade. I believe this is far better than investing in banks.

Absolutely a good idea. I lost interest in saving from the banks, once I had savings account and became dormant for 6 months. I was surprised when I tried to withdraw my remaining balance and it turns out to be almost empty. Charging you for having a dormant account is just a terrible idea.
So, as of now I'm doing the savings and long term investment to my cold wallet. Since I don't have a plan to have loans in the banks either.
Banks are actually good in terms of finance. They can financially back you in times you need money on hand or in case you need to start some offline business but keeping a dormant account in bank account without fulfilling their minimum criteria for each month might make us charge excess charges which might include maintenance charges, minimum balance not maintained charges, etc. That's why banks are not much preferred if we move onto bitcoins for our regular transactions.

If you have no desire to acquire any loan from the bank than why do you even use bank to store your money? Saving into bitcoins might also make us see a greater amount of the amount we saved in the future once you feel like the maturity date is approaching.

Yeah I agree so invest of directly doing crypto savings, do it weekly or monthly Smiley. You could save $1 everyday, put first in a safe place and when it finally accumulates after a month/week then that's the best time to convert it to btc (at least you made the most out of the transaction fee). Do I have a better plan, what fo you guys think Grin?

HEX: Longer pays better
This is one of the methods of becoming everyone's future financial freedom. For potential asset types like bitcoin, investing in bitcoin every day is a smart choice. instead of depositing our money in bank savings books, it only yields an interest rate of 4-5% per year, which is too little. This is also a lesson that knowledge of investment often brings us wealth if we invest on a regular and regular basis. Not only with bitcoin, some technology stocks in the US will also bring a lot of profits for us.

That's an interesting way to do it, but the article doesn't mention the steps.
In my opinion it was successful because it was done 5 years earlier where we know the price of BTC is now higher, if done now maybe many will doubt it because we do not know the future prices.
In other video he has shown what if people had followed DCA method since the all time high, some thinks it will be loss but in reality, they would be in profit. DCA is always a popular method for investing in less risky investment. If you are following DCA for 2 or more years, most times you will be in profit.

Oh I don't watch the video just think that what is shown on the video will be the same as the one in the article.
My understanding is that the DCA investment strategy is to buy a lots at low prices and buy less at high prices while what the article says is to invest $1 a day in 5 years, and in my opinion the timeliness of starting an investment in $1 a day will also determine profit if it starts when BTC prices at ATH prices will be different.

You own the pen
Oh my goodness made, I went through this article and I am just speechless. I was wondering like what if I could have did the same...that's remarkable see how people are coming with different thinking when it comes to savings, would you believe??? Well this is what crypto returns you while you invest in Bitcoin.

You don't need to say it everyone wants to do the same but it's too late to start because it's been 5 years since that day. I wonder if we could grab this opportunity and do the same thing. Not every day but every month will do, let's just increase the funds I think somewhere 20$ a month starting today. If BTC will continuously increase its price on the market then today is a good way to start.

If your goal is to accumulate bitcoin then for me investing 1$ per day is not a good strategy. I prefer you to invest in monthly basis than daily basis to lessen the risks and the hassle but there are disadvatages in doing that kind of strategy.

The context of the article is not about which strategy is good but shows that investing in Bitcoin even for a small amount might give you great profits.

The '$1 per day' rule can also translate to '$30 a month" or '$360 a year', so it doesn't really matter. Obviously buying $1 a day is inefficient and might cost you extra fees than a single $30 market buy.

That will be a great idea to invest every day in bitcoin and using $1 as the investment will give you a chance to have a bigger profit in the next few years. But if you invest in now, I think you need to wait for more because your profit will not be bigger if you invest in the past few years as we know that bitcoin has started rising since the last year. But that still a great idea as you invest in the right coins in the cryptocurrency because we will see the increase of the bitcoin price this year or the next years.

Perhaps, you can add more money to invest in bitcoin and not just use $1 only because that will need a long time before you can save your money in bitcoin in a big amount of bitcoin. You can use $10-$25 every week to invest in bitcoin, so in a month, you can save at least $40-$100 in bitcoin. And if you can do that for more a few months later, when bitcoin increase so high, you will see your investment value will become bigger.

If I did this strategy few years ago probably I earned by this time, but my mindset and belief now is different from before thats why I didnt give much attention to bitcoin and other alts when the price is still cheap to buy.

Now im trying to save from the earnings I get weekly from the campaign that im currently in and im buying if I have spare money to buy additional coins.

Indeed its way better to invest in crypto rather than saving your money in the bank because of the return even it takes months or years.

For me the best time to accumulate bitcoin is when there is successful breakout that happened. I'm a type of trader that focusing in protecting the capital and that is why I have good risk and management. Investing everyday is kind of strange strategy where the chances of gaining is only small.

1$ is small amount and some people never considering invest at bitcoin with that amount because too low but never cross in my mind if we done it consistently for 5 years or more then people will have over than $20k in bitcoin however i read the article and for the transactions fees people have to spend over than $1000 for transactions purpose and if bitcoin not increase rapidly in the future i'm not sure the profit from long term hold could be covered the fees

If you had been dedicated enough since release, then ROI would surely be high. But if you have invested right before the peak of 2017's bubble, you would have lost more than you could have gained.

Basically, investing regular amounts on regular intervals is what cost-averaging is all about. It does lessen the risk of losses and has high probability of gaining, but it still depends on the time and price trend upon your entry.

I guess this is better saving from your salary every project than investing 1$ every day since you already have the amount you don't need to worry about the transaction fee. But the only downfall is you need to invest it for longterm investment since you don't know when will the market price will go pump and dump in the market better not to use it in emergency since you might lose profit if you need the money and you might withdraw your investment in a low price in the market. Also investing in bitcoin and even saving money is not that easy Grin

You have a point when you are accepting cryptocurrency as payment and save or hold it, there is a tendency that it will go down, just like me I am joining signature and other stuff like creating banner and stickers, etc. here on bitcointalk and I converted it all to fiat. Getting $1 from your daily job is better in this scenario and it is good when we are in a bear market. But when we are in bull market Freelance job that accepts crypto is an advantage they can earn more and grow their money as bitcoin price increases.
