Ripple, nxt, xlm be the solution if looking for coins. coins, this is promising and has a high chance to be great in the next few years.
altcoin like ripple looks like is a suitable option for investing. newbie with a capital that not too much is perfect with a ripple because even though the value of the small but lucrative surprise done sometimes unexpected.
Just take a look about 'Verge' coins vergecurrency.com, the price still cheap but seems it has great future behind.

At first I think you chose good time to invest cause the whole market is dumping because of downward trend so you can be able to collect a lot of good cryptocurrencies with lowest price ever 
). I think if you want to invest in low price crypto, you should take a look at XLM, XRP and ADA, all these cryptocurrencies are being in top 10 on coinmarketcap, IMO they're good enough to invest in and hold until this downward trend come to an end.

Get into coinmarketcap.com. Filter as many cheapest coins you find. If you have time go through their white papers and if not study the growth ratio of each coins you have chosen. Consult your selections with experts in trades. You can still look at the ICOs as well. You might have not thought on it. But this still means a lot. Choose the ICOs which are really gaining values with the unique projects in the market. These ICOs would soon be listed in exchanges.

Maybe you can try investing on ICO's token and hold until the project successful then sold if you think the price is good to sell. But to invest in ICO's, you must selective to choosen best project, read whitepaper and roadmap project before investing.
just buy Bitcoin and hold 
Too expencive and have to wait too long (2+ years) for adequate profit. Better choosing altcoins
Always everyone has their own favourites. I`m holding btc,ripple,litecoin,ethereum and ethereumclassic for now and dont expect 200% gains on these but I do believe they are stable and will increase gradually.

It is not necessary that the crypto currency is cheap. Even if it is expensive you can buy for example 0.00001

All the coins I think are good, it's just that they have different potential. And you can go to invest in ICO, but be careful that some of them have a scam. You need to study it carefully. 
Right now the market is dangerous for newbies since the price are keep on falling and pumping not much, better to invest on great coins so you cannot lose much money. Keep on looking for other opportunities here, don't just depend on any speculation here, better to make your own analysis don't rush things you still need to learn more.
I don't suggest you. you can read the ICO project first in order to know kind of ICO. then you will find the best answer to your question. each type of ICO has a different point of view for others.
ADA, I believe it will go to the moon in 2018. At least it will recover at $ 0.5, if you buy it on this time, you win up to 90%. However, the decision is yours, it's just my own opinion

Their are many different good coins. I only can suggest these coins in which I invested - DIW, dropil, credits, better betting

If you are willing to invest in ICO. You must research first in the project, review their works and aims. You can also make a discussion or thread if you want other people opinions about the ICO that your'e going to invest. Knowledge is the key to success. Goodluck
