Should've just gone with yahoo finance recommendation.

Your list below OP is kind of risky for me.
Bitcoin
Ethereum
Always have that two. Less risk if you ask members here.
But BCH? Be sure to think about it.
I'd rather buy an exchange token like BNB rather than that. Anyway, that is my own humble opinion only.
40% Bitcoin
30% Ethereum
30% Others

Some are coming back to join and invest again in cryptocurrency. The indicators were the growing market of  cryptocurrency may it be bitcoin or altcoins. Bitcoin and other altcoins had positively recover after some time when bitcoin was halving way back feb of 2019. I thought that bitcoin that time will be dead. However I was wrong and seeing now cryptocurrency still alive and kicking made me feel happy again.

I had now coming to a search again on which crypto could be good for investment and lead me to yahoo finance site on their listing of top 5 best crypto to invest with.

yahoo finance noted on the top 5 best crypto for investment. This is their list as follows:

1. bitcoin
2. ethereum
3. neo
4. eos
5. ripple

The basis were market capitalization and liquidity.
More of the stories here is the link

https://finance.yahoo.com/

Basically the choices were good and I guess many could agree with their list. Bitcoin is always good for the newbie in investing crypto so this would be the best choice. With regards to ethereum, I can't say anything about it but ethereum platform is next to bitcoin because its platform has been paired to new projects like ICO projects but most of ICO are scam. Neo is also good but in my case it is not available in exchanges or app that I am using same as neo. Ripple is available and one of the volatile crypto good for starters in trading crypto same as BCH.

Since I only used exchange to which being approved and given licensed from the government to operate and it influence my choice of crypto and come up with a different top list of good crypto to invest with. Here is my choice,

1. bitcoin 40%
2. ripple 30%
3. bch 30%
4. ethereum 10%

What do you think of this list?

I think percent capital that you invest on Ethereum is quite small, while I suppose that ETH is the most potential coin just after Bitcoin. I am investing in the following ratio:
 1. Bitcoin 50%
 2. Ethereum 30%
 3. Ripple 20%

Investment is one of the riskiest things you could to because there is money involved if you just made a mistake there are a lot of changes and loss to your income if I were you it is better to make an investment to safe coins like the bitcoin I don't really trust the altcoins but I have some.
Well there is no problem with that because this is how investment work. It actually risky but we I know that one of these days my money could earn or gain or nothing all or will just made losses. However I am determine that I could be able to gain this time since I have also been investing before the bitcoin crashdown or halving way back feb. of 2018.

If you want to make investment better you go for the bitcoin and just to the basic strategy that most of the people doing which is buying bulk or a lot of bitcoin then sell when the market price reaches its highest market peak.
Yes, I do prefer bitcoin because this is the core of all coins or the altcoins. Everything will follow on bitcoin market. But altcoins could also be put to good use especially in trading because altcoins are more volatile than bitcoin.
But if you want to continue for the altcoins go ahead but it takes a lot of journeys before you make a lot of good profit with the use of this. Right now I have a ripple and I hold this for almost a half of a year and waiting to get back into 0.31 it's your choice to earn. Invest at your own risk.
Well yes, base on the observation altcoins do not really do good in long term hold. As I have read the other replies it seems that most of it is in favor of bitcoin.

What's the point of choosing between different altcoins, since 99% of them have similar price patterns and move in the same direction, when a bullish market occurs?
Just go with Bitcoin Core and Ethereum.I would choose 60% Bitcoin and 40% Ethereum for my investment plan.I'm not a huge ETH fan,but there's some upgrade going on in ETH that will build hype and will pump the ethereum price in the short term.
Do not expect a good hype with any of the crypto. We should not expect something so that it will not be that dissapointed when everything will not going to happen. Yes, I do agree that bitcoin is the core of all altcoins but altcoins too could be profitable and that is when one will be using this crypto just to trade. As I have mention above that the altcoins are volatile and this is why it is good to invest in them and then do the trade.

Bitcoin and ETH are always part of the crypto investment plan all of them are part of the top list crypto so I don't see any problem on it other than how you want to invest on each crypto,
I think you should invest more in BTC and ETH because they are the one's who are dominating the market for so long they have always been on the top 5.
And if you would just hold them then get some crypto that could be staked so you could also earn more.

Better go with the top crypto in the market. Btc and eth is showing a good progress compared to other crypto in the market. If you are after with a better profit you can divide your investment only in these two, but if you think that your portfolio is good enough, then that's it, you just have to wait for the right time where they will show you how high they will increase.

How can just market capitalisation and liquidity determine the best coins to invest in? These two things can only ensure lower amount of volatility and nothing else. I think if you actually want to make a magnitude of wealth in cryptocurrencies you have to buy some alts. It should be like 50% of your portfolio should always be bitcoin while 20% should comprise of these top coins and the remaining 20% should go for lower market cap alts which you can consider have rank of 5-25 on coinmarketcap and 10% or maybe even less for some people should be some coins of even lower market cap which you believe in. So all on all it's best if you keep combination of risky as well safe assets in your portfolio to make sure you are in win-win situation.

I think Bitcoin and Ethereum are the best currencies to invest in after all you need to plan for work without planning often fails there are many who do not value research when it comes to investing. They invest so they invest or invest in the market at the behest of others investors should therefore always give importance to research it carries less risk and we can make more profit with long term investment in Bitcoin.

BTC and ETH needs to be there with everyone or say most of them would already have it. Only thing percentage of this both might differ from every person. Some of them are aggressive investor so might invest in the some of the low-priced altcoins or at very early stage in order to make maximum gains possible. But bitcoin and ETH should have a maximum % weightage in a portfolio as in the end they lead the graphs.

just ignore what others are saying about your portfolio op because to be honest i like your list better than what yahoo and what users here  recomends  . im not a fan of neo and eos but i do like bitcoincash compare to both of them  . you put 30 percent on ripple and bch but your eth is only 10 percent  . why not put more on eth and decrease that two coins  . if you can make bitcoin 50 percent and etherium 30 then bch 20 and last 10 for xrp i would be more happy  . thats basically what my composition goes  , goodluck to both of us .

Go big on bitcoin and ETH, they are the future, Bitcoin will lead the market while ETH will lead the atlcoins. Putting 50% on bitcoin, 30% on ETH, and the remaining 20% is for the coins you love, that's my advise, but always check the liquidity as that matters in the long run.

30% in Bcash does not seem good. There's no demand for it and they have one of the most ridiculed communities.
LOL, it seems like bch having a good market capitalization in the coinmarketcap.com. The good thing is that many do not like this crypto due to the fact that it was been fork to bitcoin and splited another crypto which is the bsv seems like volatile at the moment. Basically, BCH and the likes of this crypto is good for trading. There is a high chances to earn in this crypto.

Just stop looking or even reading the top 10 crypto investments or whatever. Just hodl Bitcoin and you wouldn't even need to read said articles. Ofc, if you're going to daily trade, that requires a bit more skill, but if you're just holding for the long term, I see no need to know much about other coins. Eth is erm, well just saying, it's a lot better than ripple or bch. Might as well switch up the numbers and if you really want to invest in those two, just invest 10% and put the leftovers to Bitcoin and ETH. ETH at least has the news of version 2 coming up, which might help in increasing in price, the rest? Nah.

Also, you might want to move this to Trading Discussion instead or something, the topic is a lot more suitable there than here.

I'll remove BCH and Ripple on the list. And with our experience during the Feb. 2019 as you have mentioned, you thought that it's about to be dead. You probably have learned that bitcoin is truly volatile and you will never know how low and how high it can go.

Increasing the capacity of your emotional take once bitcoin goes sideways again is a must. If you don't, you'll probably thinking again that bitcoin is supposedly to be dead like what you have thought before. Needless to say, we're all happy to see that bitcoin's showing itself as the king of this crypto market.

Couple of coins from that list even I love to acquire during the dips and continue holding it for the time I do not meet my goals. So for short term if I get some profits I can book it, on the longer term I am more optimistic with the prices of those coins in future to be manifolds then the current price so will invest more during the dips.

First things first the amount of % sums upto 110%  Grin Grin

Those are among the top coins in cryptocurrencies and obviously it would be a good choice to invest in the coins to have a diversified portfolio.
Though these are some good coins, I would personally not invest in XRP since I don't like it for my own reasons.
Also, I would invest the majority into bitcoin and ethereum and I am already doing that.
I am planning on to hold it for a long term and I hope it would benefit me for good.

If I have a chance to invest, I would choose BTC and ETH to be part of my major portfolio and aside from that, I would consider doing some research with under the radar projects, mostly low cap, that had been in active development for some time and had shown significant progress and are very promising.

To be fair, I would rather decline to mention any of those projects involved since I believe that with due diligence, anyone should discover those hidden crypto gems. Imho.

Those random shitcoins are fine to have a tiny amount in but not the percentages he was suggesting. They aren't long term holders either, you flush those turds when there's a spike pronto and buy your original amount on a dip or another token/coin.
Yes, usually investment in altcoins are no good for long term hold. It is still better be in a short term to avoid losses in the future especially when most of the whales dump. This is one of the risk in altcoins because many whales can pump and dump the said coins and it can influence you in your investment plan. So might consider other users ideas in regards to altcoins. But when it comes to bitcoin then there is really no problem with that.
