Hi guys,

I'll be reading the entire thread as soon I get the time to, but until then I was hoping someone could answer me on a couple of things.

While many believe in IOTA, I see others who are very critical to it. Things I've heard are the following:

- The developers have written their own hash, which is a big no no when it comes to kryptos

- There is no decentralized product

- The tangle technology isn't new and the big problem with it is to get it decentralized

If someone knowledgeable and a believer in IOTA could meet these arguments, I would truly appreciate it.

I was also wondering if there are any other kryptos in the making that could compete with what the IOTA team is trying to do. Lastly I'm curious to how much you think this currency can grow in value the next 5 years, should it turn out to be successful.

byteball has a similar DAG concept but decentralized from the start. It relies on 12 elected witnesses by wallet majority. It hasn't gotten the marketing attention yet

Byteball's witnesses are all controlled by the main developer Tony at the moment. It is described in the white paper. It is planned to elect 12 trustworthy witnesses in the future which have an interest to maintain and stabilize the network. Thus, Byteball is not really decentralized.

I think it has gotten the marketing attention quite well. Or how does it come market volume is above 187M? It is even listed on more exchanges than IOTA is.

Im totally in love with IOTA, I really like the project. Only problem I see so far is the rare acceptance on exchanges. I'm not a friend of bitfinex, neither their high fees nor their QoS.
I know that since everyone is hopping on crypts there are problems with traffic, that need to be solved. Same with security issues.
Before I get started with IOTA, there hast to be an exchange that I fully trust and I can fully count on. I've made very good experience with bitcoin.de, even though their fees are high too.
I just sold all of my bitcoins the other day, not sure about this hype right now, it confuses me. I read in the news that Bulgaria still keeps over 200k of Coins which they have seized from criminal activities.
Maybe I was too nervous about having these guys satisfying the current demand of Bitcoins  Huh .
I think in the long run, ETH and IOTA are futuristic and promising investments...
I will keep an eye on IOTA and their trading possibilities for the future. Hope to see them soon on more exchanges.

Keep up the interesting and great work guys.

If 1000 miota = 1 iota

That means $4.25 miota = $4,250.00 per IOTA.  is that correct?

If so, that seems like a high valuation for an IOTA.

Is this a coin like XRP where we can expect it to go up in cents and not full dollars?

No, this is not correct, is not miota, is Miota, i.e Million of iota. Price is 4.25$ per million, so 1 Gi (Gigaiota) is 4250$ following your pricing

The Iota price surge is my biggest surprise for the last time. Despite the fact that the coin is no doubt very high-tech.
It's true. IOTA is very interesting project.
But have some problems with code. For example I can not send IOTA from my wallet to exchange now ;-(

PSA: Scammer has created an ERC-20 IOTA/Miota token. Those unfamiliar with IOTA beware, this ERC-20 token is not the real IOTA token.
