Hi, Can anybody point me somewhere I can get help with retrieving my IOTA from a spent address in the Trinity wallet? Thanks....

Best place is IOTA's Discord. At any time many helpful members are online, also from the Foundation etc.

Your wallets are buggy as hell.

Desktop wallet:
Entering my password and getting a message:
Error fetching account information. Trying again with a different node.
Node returned error while fetching your account information

It's a node problem, not a wallet problem. Change node to a healthy one and everything works fine.

Version 2.5.7 works but was showing less balance than it is. While wallet is open balance can increase for some time (and few more transfers appear in history) and then it decreases again with disappearing transactions. I clicked attach to tangle several times without result. Then balance was correct during few minutes and became less again, then it became correct again, then lower again. I am afraid to do any transfers while my balance jumps up and down like this.

Version 2.5.7? Which IOTA wallet do you use? Trinity wallet  is version 1.0 (both the desktop and the Android version).  Could it be that you used the very old IOTA Wallet which has been completely outdated for a long time? Do not touch it, also it does not work properly anymore because it has not been adapted to recent changes. Use Trinity with a working node (use one of this list with high health and milestone) and you won't have problems Wink

Sorry I was not specific enough. By desktop wallet I mean the current version of Trinity 1.0. And mobile version is Trinity too which is currently available on Play market. Trinity 1.0 is set to "Automatic node management", but why it cannot select a good node itself? When I try to add any node from this site https://iota.dance/ - I tried to add this node https://nodes.iota.cafe:443, I get a message "Custom node is already listed". However the wallet cannot start and says: "Error fetching account information. Trying again with a different node. Node returned error while fetching your account information", what other node can I add if it does not allow to add any node (because they all already added to the program). When I select "Primary node autoswitching" - "Primaty node:" whatever node I select it always says "Node out of sync". I just thought... does this wallet require correct time on computer? Time on my computer is incorrect (not local time) set. Can this be the reason? Because of incorrect time I have a problem connecting to Binance API, maybe your wallet requires correct time too. If yes, then you need to fix this and allow any time.

Yes wallet version 2.5.7 is old but still works for me unlike new Trinity. It shows correct balance now.

Is there a list of good known nodes to use or would this vary by nation as to the best.

See my post right before yours Wink

@CFB,what's  your next project since leaving IF ?

As cfb stated, he will continue working on IOTA and side projects based on IOTA (e.g. gaming). He left the foundation to keep it out of the line of fire, especially as his special opinions have always led to attacks on the foundation from outside. Therefore, the right step as I think, since he can talk again "free" and still remains an important part of the project. You should not make a big deal on it.

By the way, Telekom Labs ( among other things parent company of T-Mobile US ) works on a Blockchain Scooter based on Ethereum and IOTA technology.

Here's an official teaser on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMO28WSXJNY and a flyer where IOTA is mentioned https://laboratories.telekom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/BlockchainScooter_Flyer.pdf

There is a new free web app that allows everyone to tamper-proof timestamping data by storing fingerprints in the tangle, ensuring that data in the form of texts, websites, documents and images cannot be altered without being noticed.

Or use the app to write your fingerpints of ideas and concepts in the tangle to prove later that you had the idea first.

Need some help to access my wallet.

For quite some time I was not active because the market was down. I left all my coins untouched.

I'm still using IOTA light wallet 2.5.4. Today when I try to open the wallet, it says no connection.

What should I need to do to access my coins? Thank for your help.

Try changing the used node to
Code:
https://nodes.thetangle.org:443
. Once you login you will likely need to generate several addresses to see the balance.
Also had this problem. It was scary that he lost all balance. Shocked Thank you, you helped a lot  Wink

Thanks for the node address. I can login now but as you said I can't see my balance.

Do I need to generate new addresses in the receive section? I did a few of them but still not able to see my balance. May I know how many I may need to generate a new addresses?

Edit - Now, I got my coins back into my account. Thank you very much.

The most interesting thing about this market today is that IOTA has practically no competition. So when it is warm, all euphoria will be in this coin.
