No, it is not 1,000 times less it is 1,000,000 less. It is because Coinmarketcap shows Miota. One Miota is 1,000,000 Iotas. Coinmarketcap named it wrong thats the actual mistake. So the number is correct the unit name is not.

Basicaly 1 mi iota = 1 coin
1 Gi iota = 1000 coins
1 ti iota = 1000 000 coins
When compared to traditional coins,not in price though

Anything below Mi iota like Ki iota would be the same thing as satoshis,just fractions

But only because its the Mi thats being traded

If the price was for 1 IOTA only, the price would be much higher

I see ICO's come out of nowhere, but noticed that this thread started in 2015. Coinmarketcap doesn't have any price history so my assumption was wrong.
