I also suggested accepting bitcoin. I think having both options would optimize the will to colaborate in the community. Some people may have a small stake( to their regret) from which they cant donate much, and would rather do it with btc.

About the GUI, they ve been transparent all along. Just unlucky or bad choice with who the work was put on, but we were all aware while it happened.

Man, are you serious? You are either trolling or misinformed. There is absolutely no problem with developing the GUI, none what so ever. Like you said: it's easy. But GUI is about the G. We had a GUI ready in December actually, a very rough one that CfB put together in an afternoon or two, but the community (after seeing screenshots) expressed wishes for a beautiful GUI(CfB is a hardcore backend dev, not frontend graphic designer), we agreed with this as first impression is important. So then we hired a well renowned design/UI firm called www.creativeda.sh who started work (albeit a bit slow), then suddenly they inform us that they lost their developer (he quit). So now we had wasted a month and had to start all over again, that's life, so we did, then we hired www.danwarfel.com who also has a very solid portfolio. What happens? He disappears for 3 weeks straight. So of course, had to fire him, find new dev, which is very soon to be done with the UI now.

So as you can see, it has nothing to do with being hard, it was just a series of extremely unfortunate events out of our control. This is usually called Murphy's law.

CIYAM says hardcoding a port <1024 is bad security wise. He is not a Java dev as far as I know. Cfb says it's necessary because it makes testing a lot easier, and it's only for the reference implementation. In the final, non reference client there won't be a hardcoded port.

Thats all there is to the discussion. It has nothing to do with code not written very clean.

Please please do not delegate your ability to gain knowledge to an authority (neither ciaym nor cfb/iotatoken), use your own brain instead.

I use my own brain and I know that CIYAM is very unpleasant. I'm an early adopter of Bitcoin and I know this kind of posts of CIYAM already very long. But I don't think he is stupid.

The technologie and Protocol of IOTA is very complex. I can't say if this technologie is implementable but I hope it. What worries me is why it is so easy to write the complex code and so diffcult to write the easiest part- the GUI. I hope this official statement is true.

You're out of the loop: CIYAM is a troll. He's a chronic alcoholic who stole 50 btc and blamed his wife, he offered me the job to lead his entire CIYAM project in 2014 which I decline when I realized how insane he is, then he tried to get me to 'kill Nxt' with him, when I obviously refused that he had a meltdown that almost made his own paid devs quit his project. Virtually every.single.thing he says is pure lies and pathetic attempts at sabotaging successful projects.

Just ignore him, he doesn't deserve attention.
