I want to bring to your attention this important update from the IoTeX Team: due to the current market condition after a month of discussions with the team members and all of their private investors, the IoTeX team announced they will delay the token unlock schedule by 6 months. This will affect the team members tokens and private sale investors tokens. If someone still had doubts about the IoTeX project, this is the definitive proof of how serious this team and project are. I've never heard of a team developing a blockchain deciding to delay their own tokens release, and even more never heard of a team so commited about their project and the community to be able to openly discuss this with their private investors and all together come to the conclusion of delaying their own tokens unlock event.

Also, professional and on time communication as usual, and as it's expected by a great team aiming to become the IoT blockchain leaders.

mmm.. I don't think this is a matter of one development team which is better than the other - though IoTeX can count on a team extremely well balanced among Research Scientists (so far 10+), top tier engineers from Google, Facebook, Uber, Intel, Bosch, and experienced ecosystem builders (check out the curriculum of Jing Sun, she led 40+ investments in blockchain, security, and IoT!).

Rather, I think it's a matter of design: IOTA may have a huge development team, but if they have to spend all of their energy in trying to overcome the IOTA limitations due to it's DAG design trying to adapt it to IoT, then all that "development power" is just wasted. IoTeX has a very clear design, where each and every aspect required by most IoT applications is taken into accound in advance using proven technologies and innovating those where it's required. Innovations happen thanks a very solid academic background of the Ph.Ds and Research scientists who are part of the team, through the common Academic Paper Publication and Scientific community review process.

I think this is a very solid and promising approach that, according to the roadmap, will give its results very soon. Indeed in August they just launched their partnerships program online and have partners with real-world applications ready to be developed ranging from health-tracking IoT devices to IoT-collected data marketplace, to Smart Home devices. All of them leveraging the unique IoTeX full privacy feature, smart contracts and Instant consensus.

Honestly guys, I think this is really going to revolutionize the IoT industry on next year.

I guess any coin that develop in IoT direction says that it will replace IOTA but even IOTA don't have any clear products for this industry right now.

User zimne above posted the whitepaper and other papers links, I’ve read them (well, I could only understand 10% of the Yellow Paper and DKSAP-IoT Paper as they are all about mathematics and cryptography innovations, but the whitepaper which is still an academic paper itself can be read if you have intermediate  engineering/math education).

Let’s take the full-privacy algorithm which IoTeX provides (and improved over the Monero algorithms by making them lightweight and capable of running on low power devices): I think apart of (legal)e-commerce and few other applications, most IoT uses wil require full privacy. Think even to the basic E-Charger application of IOTA: how hard it would be for people who knows your car id on the Iota network (say the car manufacturer or your husband/wife) to track the places you have been to?

I hear a lot about IOTA and their amazing partnerships -- I don't follow them that closely so is there any partnership they have that they have actually developed deep use cases that are under way? It seems to me that they're extremely strong on their marketing forefront but I am not too sure their technology is following up and is able to have a substantial and functional network yet.

I read recently of IoTeX's partnership announcements and while the team isn't pushing their marketing as hard as IOTA is and IoTeX is only in their testnet phase, their technical features make them very promising to be the blockchain project that can be the ultimate infrastructure for IoT as a whole.

What I like about IoTeX is that they put much emphasis on privacy and security.

IOTA has its issues with that and had to recentralize due to this as far as I know.

Please check out my answer above. Have a look at this project carefully because this is something revolutionary. When I say "revolutionary" I mean the IoTeX innovations are industry-oriented thus absolutely solid and designed to be effective and working just immediately for any IoT manufacturer: no matter the device, no matter the application - IoTeX Blockchain is focused on IoT as a whole, and delivers all the required features (over all, massive scalability, instant finality and full privacy and smart contracts), in one single solution ready to be put at work tomorrow!

From what I know, Streamr DATA is a very solid and long time developed project, but it's focused on a specific application (data streaming), while IoTeX aims to become the infrastructure of the IoT i.e. if you are a IoT device manufacturer, you can start your own subchain off the IoTeX network and immediately get a blockchain for your own devices which is tailored for your devices. Indeed you can decide wether your subchain requires full privacy or not, if it requires its own token or not, and still your devices will be able to interact almost instantly with any other device located into any other subchain thanks to an advanced cross-chain communication capability.

Thanks to their DKSAP-IoT innovation (and many more to come) IoTeX can run caomplicated cryptography to achieve full privacy even on low-powered devices. Very soon it will be very easy for any manufacturer (wheter it is about personal IoT devices, autonomous cars, or home appliances manufacturer) to release its own IoT full fledged blockchain very easily. It's expected thousands of subchains to be started in the beginning by small IoT manufacturers, all of them able to communicate each other very quickcly (see the IoTeX own Roll-DPoS consensus, which allows for instant finality of transactions and massive scalability of the network), allowing for smart contracts, full privacy and much more.
