On another iDevice I appear to have functionality and it's not jailbroken.  Could this be true?

I installed the app but it appears to be "watch only".  Any ideas on how to add regular functionality?

It's back!!  Cheesy

Last version wasn't working (not jailbreak).

Now I installed and tested. Successful transaction.

Bitcoins are back on iPhone!

Did Apple reverse it's decision, or did this just slip through the cracks?

Wtf. I logged in to an old wallet on blockchain.info and it shows a balance of more than zero yet I was certain I cleared it and blockexplorer.com shows zero too.

Something is definitely broken :/

Has anyone else had a bug with the balance?

Some time over the last week I've had a problem where once all transactions are confirmed I can not send out all the coins shown in the balance, only a little less than 1.4 btc than is shown on the balance "tab"

is the problem fixed in 1.9.9?

Unfortunately, no.

When I click "Send payment" interface locks and stays like this:

Later i found out that transaction was sent anyway! What about manual confirmation? If this is new feature (that you don't have to confirm manually for small values) could you PLEASE make a YES/NO setting in profile page for manual confirmation?

There is no manual confirmation anymore. The idea is as transactions inning usually takes a minute or two you have plenty of time to review and cancel the transaction. If the modal dialog doesn't show then that is a problem, is the problem fixed in 1.9.9?

The bug fix accidentally got reversed in v1.9.7, it should be fixed again in 1.9.8.

I tried sending few BTCs with 1.9.8 (3GS v4.21).
Interface locked up (no window saying "signing inputs 1 of 1" or something like that), after a while there was a beep, and then app froze. After 5 minutes i terminated it manually.

Later i found out that transaction was sent anyway! What about manual confirmation? If this is new feature (that you don't have to confirm manually for small values) could you PLEASE make a YES/NO setting in profile page for manual confirmation?

Few more things:
- going from one page to another is slower again (like it was in 1.9.3)

- going to profile page for the first time does nothing (white screen). You have to go elsewhere and then click again on profile page to activate it (like it was in 1.9.3)

- still can't access first entry in address book:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.900479

- local currency is still resetting to U.S. Dollar constantly. Even if i set it to euro... the app still shows $ for currency value.

- could you please extend "To:" field in send page, so whole address would be visible?

v1.9.8 now on Cydia

- Scan private keys from paper wallet (or mini private key QR Code)
- Faster transaction signing with javascript webworkers (iOS 5 only).
- More reliable web socket support (iOS 4.2+).
- Logout button
- Other bug fixes

v1.9.7 is not working for me (3GS iOS v4.21). When i try to send transaction... it breaks... just like it was the case before v1.9.5.

Paypal has an Iphone app,  and they don't pay Apple a royalty.
I don't see why Bitcoin apps wouldn't be allowed when Paypal is.

I suspect that Apple is preparing for a proprietary NFC payment app and I doubt that the iPhone/PayPal functionality would be extended to include that.

With bitcoin QR code scanning at the point of sale, BTC poses a threat to any planned ApplePayments roll-out, not to mention the fact that BTC is a neutral, nonpolitical currency unit.

Sorry if this has already been asked. I'm running the app (Cydia) where I keep some BTC for smallish transactions. However, there's a tiny discrepancy in my balance between the app and the web browser wallet. I sent two deposits from Virwox in the last couple days, and the difference between the balances is .04. Now, I know Virwox charges .02 per withdrawal, so that makes some sense, but even after all the confirmations, the web-based wallet still tells me I have .04 BTC less than the app wallet... it's weird?

Looks like Apple is getting a little heat for their policy:

Flattr: we’re victims of an ‘app dictatorship’
Quote
It’s like a jury that judges you but doesn’t explain why,” he said. “It’s an app dictatorship, or a monopoly. The problem is that we’re centralizing all of our communications… big corporates say they want a free market, but they really want to lock people up. It’s not just Apple: Google is going this way, Facebook is definitely going this way.”

Duh: Apple doesn’t want Flattr money flowing through its apps if it can’t take a cut
Quote
This has to do with the fact that using the very disruptive service Flattr, apps can process micro-payments without Apple’s involvement. Basically, Apple isn’t getting a cut of the action.

The following point in their App Store Review Guidelines:

There was one clue given, that might be useful as a workaround for this app.

21.2 The collection of donations must be done via a web site in Safari or an SMS

So ya, why not.  Have the app create the script and route that out through using SMS.  (i.e., the app can function with network connectivity turned off, so you prove the app isn't performing the transaction).  Unless that violates the spirit of their policy and they would reject it on that grounds, who knows.

I wonder what the difference is though between an app that uses Flattr  and an app that uses PayPal, as far as being used to transfer funds from one person to another.

Support the bitcoin economy, use BTC merchants
So now that 5.1.1 is jailbreakable untethered for the 4S, I went ahead and updated.  The app store version was working except the profile page didn't have my email or settings in it (only the wallet identifier was shown).  I uninstalled the app store version and installed the Cydia version, but it crashes immediately.  Any ideas?

Same experience here as previously posted.
