Maybe it could be. When it continuously dropped down, but do not lose hope every situation has its own positivity like this, this is one of the biggest chance to buy bitcoin for its lowest price and sell it when its value spike up again to its big value. This situation happens all the time.

The situation now we face in btc price shows that it already happened. To see that price going down and lets base the price to btc supply I think yes 2018 is the downfall of btc price. Maybe someday btc price will back again.
2017 was a great year for bitcoin. See the price chart in 2017. Does price always rise? You shouldn't expect the price to rise all the times. Wait. It's January now. 11 months left until the end of 2018.

People were complaining about the price of Bitcoin when it was around $500 and now they are complaining about it when it's $10,000.The complaining won't end though there should be a higher price next time.

bitcoins fluctuation has always been same with ups and downs and people are afraid of it whenever it falls and become happy when it goes up which is a normal thing also in 2018
When bitcoin had the ATH of almost 20K, everyone was lyrical and we were sure the price would increase to 100K or more. Then a price correction followed and almost everyone believed this was a bubble that was going to burst. And 2018 will be the downfall of bitcoin. But the fact is that all the FUD lately is creating a decline, people are scared to invest with all the rumours of cryptocurrency being banned. But when the price has declined to 8K, the mainstream will start buying massively and bitcoin will rocket again.

I think that by the year 2018 bitcoin can still survive despite the market price decline, it is not easy just to make bitcoin really fall, bitcoin fluctuations now is something reasonable, just as happened in the previous year, I think still normal . until now there has been no convincing signs that bitcoin will fall.
FUD. fluctuations are normal. Just hold your btc or other altcoins (unless it's a shitcoin) and wait for it to normalize.
Bitcoin price like any other fiat currencies depends on the aupply and demand of the market as a whole who are using bitcoins in their daily life trading, working, paying bills, shopping etc. It doesn't mean that the value of bitcoin is low bitcoin itself will fall. Cause as uou can see its not going down forever is has still its highs and lows.

This is natural, after such a high increase will create a deep valley, just need to be patient until the price bounce back. The recent fluctuation in the price has just been due to some FUD related to bitcoin. These include incidents of Indian banks scanning off crypto exchanges accounts, bitcoin futures coming to an end, south korea taxing bitcoin and much more. I don't really think its the end. If all these things contribute to good this might be the new beginning for bitcoin in terms of how governments view it.

Bitcoins today is being used by japan to improve their economy and how they get bitcoins ? , probably they are using mining rigs because it was very profitable to earn money. It only means that there are still a lot of people who believe in bitcoins and maybe in the future it will be fully accepted by the countries as a digital currency.
In my opinion, Bitcoin is here to stay. I believe that we will see many ups and downs during the next couple of years but always in an uptrend. As the transfer fees decrease and more more application/businesses start accepting Bitcoin, we will see a sharper bullish curve

This year may be downfall of bitcoin because of many reasons: high tx fees, long confirmation time and etc. But after segwit and some time passes, it can become great again. It has name - Bitcoin - which is very popular, this name gained trust among people and history says everything, this coin has possibility of intense rise. So with just some modification and improvement and upcoming halving, this coin can rise a lot.
Btw I think BCH is great for this and can consider it as a better alternative of bitcoin which will beat it.

Far from it that bitcoin downfall is 2018.It is from past records and history about bitcoin that reveal that bitcoin was very volatile even than these days. Bitcoin price fluctuates all the time and it has been known by most bitcoiner that it is normal for bitcoin to increase or decrease in value, especially at the end of the year, when most business experience low and downwards patronage and turn out of clients or customers. Speculations as a result of the recent experience dip and lack of adequate knowledge of previous volatility of bitcoin, might have led to this wrong thought of downfall of bitcoin.
With the constantly increasing interest from the public and the spreading of bitcoin the fall where it will not rise might not happen. The inflow of people who know or already know will prevent that from happening.
Everyone wants to earn in some ways and if they have an eye on bitcoins it may take time before they look around.
We, the people who knows bitcoin will prevent that from happening. Surely there will be someone who will buy when its price gets low.
