Bitcoin will develop for sure. I don't see any competitor of Bitcoin. But there is room to grow other crypto's as well. The listed Crypto's has the big chance of growing in the next few months: Altcoin, Ethereum, SciDex, PTC, BTC etc.
I think similar to what spaffin just posted. This year will be important to Bitcoin not really in price terms but in acceptance terms by different countries and for a multitude of purposes not just allowing exchanges. We can see in the US for instance that 2 states have already allowed payment of local taxes by crypto and the IRS has implemented taxes on trading profits. The more countries join in with acceptance the better overall for the status of Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies.

In my opinion, bitcoin will slowly go up, because currently many people are using bitcoin. so the market will also raise the price of bitcoin.
2018 is the most crucial year because it is make or break time. Before no-one cared much for bitcoin, just some underground types and the geek crowd. Now however it is in the media and even celebrities are endorsing it. If it crashes then it will never be trusted, but success now means mass adoption.

I wouldn't say that crucial. I was thinking that bitcoin will reach 40000 dollars yet now im not so sure due to it's price drop yet whi knows maybe the greater the drop the higher the price will rise.

The longer I hold BTC, the longer I fell in love with it. I dont care if this coin would drop to 3k, I believe it would reach 100k in the next few yrs or even months.

The goal of people buying bitcoin is to make a profit by selling it at higher prices. but you need to know that selling or buying bitcoin is very risky because bitcoin itself is not guaranteed by a particular institution. the widespread place receiving bitcoin as a method of payment does not seem to be going fast in the coming year.

Crucial,but "most"? I don't think so. Since btc is already widely known,countries starting to consider the value of btc,would make it less crucial for the bitcoins and other cryptos.

Until recently, even those who knew about bitcoin had no idea that there were other virtual coins. Last year everything changed. bitcoin can make 2018 a special year for altcoyins, not for bitcoins.
Yes i think this is the most crucial year indeed. Many people against bitcoin come together to create fear, distrust and a lot of panic to the new bitcoiners and even the old ones who have weak hands. These panicking has lead to bitcoin's fall a hundred steps down the long stairs. But we all know this is not the end for bitcoin. Strong hands are gonna fight. Bitcoin will recover after this fall just like any other fall it ever encountered.
