We suppose the question, raised in this thread, have not lost relevance to this day. Law enforcement agencies (in case they have any reason to suspect anybody of illegal activities), researchers engaged in the analysis of blockchain, cyber criminals and several other categories of people may be interested in a detailed study of the cryptocurrency activities of any person. Only you can decide whether you need any protection from such attacks on your privacy or not. A bitcoin mixer BestMixer.IO is able to anonymise your coins completely. But first you need to pay attention to elementary notions to feel secure in the Internet. You can find more information about it in the Wiki section on the website https://bestmixer.io/en/wiki.

Almost everyone making online transactions thinks that using bitcoins would be a good way to stay anonymous. But the truth is bitcoin transactions are not really anonymous at all. All transactions are recorded and can be seen publicly through the blockchain. When you use your bitcoin to pay for goods and services online, you will need to provide some private information in some cases. This means that your transactions can be traced by a third party to find information. In order to avoid this from happening, bitcoin mixers provide services where your bitcoins are mixed with others to make it harder to be traced back from the original owner.

Do you think that it is a must for everyone to use a bitcoin mixer? Why and for what purposes?

Using bitcoin mixers depends on a person on how much they care for their anonymity. There are people that even knowing it's quite difficult and will takes lots of time to search for traces on linked address still will use a mixer. There are also people that needs anonymity even with just a simple buying of cigarette online via bitcoin payment (just a sarcastic example).

A simple question; "I want to hide my transaction but Im using exchange on which I provide verification" , then use bitcoin mixer.  Another one; "Im sure it's difficult to trace my identity. I don't need any mixer then".

Anonymity provided by bitcoin is fine as it and if you are buying your coins with cash(in person), I believe it provides sufficient anonymity. The problem starts when you buy them online with a credit card or on exchanges with your ID details. Since the addresses can be tracked it will come back to you somehow.

I don't know how well mixers work, you place your life at their mercy. If you are going to do some illegal stuff, I advice you to use a totally anonymous crypto.

a bitcoin mixer is not the only way of mixing your coins and it is not even the best way of doing it. there are many different methods you can use to mix coins and each give you a different level of privacy.
in the end it will all come down to what you want out of this privacy. some people want to keep their affairs private. like for example you posted your bitcoin address on the forum but don't want anyone knowing how much bitcoin in total you own, or where you spend them.
but for some others they want to hide their illegal activities. and that is the tricky part.

i can't say it is a must or not but it is certainly good to have good services around.

What is the best way of mixing coins, if you don't mind me asking?

Using a service like ChipMixer https://chipmixer.com/ As you use their resources, technology. They do all the work for you. You can read their FAQ to see how exactly they work behind the scene. Pretty easy to understand and to use. After Bitmixer closing the shop, ChipMixer is the new flower. Others may suggest to you, to spend your coins to an exchange platform and then send it to a new wallet, but it can create a fingerprint in the long run I guess. Better safe than sorry, better to use a pro service

Bitcoin is not completely anonymous, exchanges will have all the details regarding you. Local exchanges will not allow deposit/withdrawal without your authenticity. So if you transact in a higher volume then you need Mixers. Bitmixer was one of the trusted one and they closed because of some pressure. It is not must but may be used if necessary.

I really don't think if I need a new address  or wallet which is bitcoin mixer.  Honestly, I am satisfied with the old bitcoin because it keeps my  transactions private, especially when dealing with large or small amounts and anonymity.  Can you please tell me what are the benefits of this bitcoin mixer?

Bro, bitcoin mixers work is not belongs to wallet provider side. If you wish to mix the huge number of bitcoins to split it into multiple address, in that case you can bitcoin mixers. Already Bitmixer has close the service few days before. Still some of the sites like Chipmixer and cryptomixer are doing the mixing service.

Mixer will have your information, usually these services are very shady with unknown operators.

Privacy has to come from the technology itself, not a third party service, miners are blocking bitcoin's upgrade but eventually we will win and progress can happen again and we can have privacy implemented as a core feature.

Bitcoin mixing isn't a must in my opinion.

If you are conducting trades i.e buying and selling on the deep web, you might as well mix your coins if you feel that security is a concern.

If you're using Bitcoin to trade around legal stuff, mixing might not be necessary unless you're dealing in a very high volume of Bitcoin and then again, mixing becomes necessary.

Not really a necessity since you can do a simple mix by yourself. Yes, they have far more complicated methods of mixing your coins but you need to pay them 1% or 2% of the total amount you'll mix which is not good plus the fees when you send them the coins. You can do a simple mix by sending your coins to an exchange then move it to a new address that you own. That is way more economical and faster IMO.

i've never used a mixer or felt the need to use one.

i'm not bothered about disguising my coin movements, but if i did want to break the link i'd stick it in an exchange and pull it out again. that might not be enough. i don't really care.

No. Its not a must to use a mixer for daily to daily transactions but if you want to be anonymous and your transaction wants to be hidden for reason e.g. buying drugs in deepweb or senstive things, use mixer to hide your tracks but there are other ways to anonymous without paying a mixer service.
yes that is right that it is not must but we use it only to remain as anonymous. in fact it mix the addresses and then it become difficult for people to find out that from which wallet the amount has be sent and received.

When we use bitcoin for purposes that do not violate the law, it is not necessary to use bitcoin mixer. But when we use it for something that potentially to cause problems later on, gambling as an example, then bitcoin mixer is a must. As we know, gambling isn't a legal thing in many countries.
I agree why would you use bitcoin mixer when you are only doing simple transactions. Bitcoin mixing is the process of using a third party service to break the connection between a Bitcoin address sending coins and the address(s) they are sent to. Bitcoin mixer is only used by people who doesn’t want the entire world to know where they send and store their BTC, or from where they receive it. For some people bitcoin mixer is a necessity, people who work in Darknet Markets in particular. People who only do simple transactions don't need it however, if you feel unsafe about your transactions you are free to use bitcoin mixer.

Bitcoin is pseudonymous. All transactions are permanently stored on blockchain and visible to everyone. It is possible to identify a person through their transaction history and this is where bitcoin mixers are useful, complete anonymity.

Now without any ulterior motive people use mixers to protect their anonymity. But mixers also serve illegal purposes like financial crimes including tax evasion, money laundering, fraud and then darknet crimes. Stolen bitcoins, ransomware, hackers use mixers to get rid of tainted coins.

And even using mixers isn't risk free, you have no idea who are behind centralized mixers, do they keep logs? If being anonymous is the purpose then it can be done even without mixers and if other purposes are involved then I think you need mixers.

I think not everyone should use a bitcoin mixer service. It depends on the person if he wants to make their bitcoin do not want to be known to others or personal reasons. Maybe some of those who use bitcoin mixers are criminals who do not want to make the bitcoin they stole is unknown where the address he sent.

Its not a must since not everyone needs it if its just a simple transaction where you just transfer coins from one address to another
Its a choice, since there are other ways to clean your coins like you can transfer your coins to exchangers but expect more fees than the fees mixers are charging you.
Its an option to those who live in a country where a local exchanger does not allow deposits coming from known HYIPs and Gambling sites.
I have some friends of mine and their account was canceled because they received BTCs from HYIPs and gambling sites.

A bitcoin mixer becomes necessary only when you have lots of bitcoins wit you and you don't want to be traced by any one to avoid threats. Also,it is needed if you are sending huge amounts of bitcoins and you don't want your transactions to be traced by governments to avoid being taxed.

No one is definitely not needed many hardware wallets have many addresses and it sends from multiple and you can request with a new one

That hardly protects your privacy. Bitcoin mixers are a must especially if you deal with sensitive and often illegal activities online. But for your general Bitcoin usage, it is not really needed.

But if somebody knows our bitcoin address, then he can watch us as long as we use the same wallet. This is really bothering for me. I couldn' find a solution rather than btc mixer.

That is the reason why we have HD wallets. Bitcoin addresses should not be used more than once if you want some protection on your privacy. But you really want to make sure, yes use a mixer or use an anonymous coin like Monero.
well mixer serve its purpose when we don't want to risk our own wallet address as we knew that there's really still some risk from the eyes of
hackers and mixer are the best ways  to avoid them to notice our big transactions if we are doing it from time to time.

But who are running the mixers? Can they be trusted? What if it was the hackers themselves who are running the mixers? Buyers and sellers of the dark markers should also be careful in trusting them because the people who are running them might be the government enforcers.

If I put my freedom at risk, I will not use a mixer.

There was some news earlier this year that mixers are now useless as the chainanalysis companies can see past them. So don't waste your time and bitcoin with them. If you need to anonymize bitcoin you should use an altcoin with an opaque blockchain.

I think it should be done by everyone. Because your data are private and belong to you and to you only.
It's a measure of security to your data and a great deal for your privacy, so what's against it? It's fairly simple to mix coins, so go for it!
