For sure BTC is real money. I for example try to buy as much as possible with my BTC holdings
Do not spend your bitcoin too much because it will not help you rich but it will help you to become poor. If you want to have a lot of money and also have a power to buy the things that you want then you should hold your bitcoins for long term because that is how you will earn money and also get a power to buy more things than now.

Actually the gov's have very little say, they just don't realize it yet. Its what the people decide it is not the government.  Those govt types need to start looking for new jobs and can I suggestthey look in the Crypto sector ha ha

Don't write the governments off like they don't know what Bitcoin is. They are very well aware of what Bitcoin is and how it works, and that they and their corrupted mafia banks are completely outruled. It's not for nothing that certain countries hold a defensive/aggresive stance against Bitcoin. In case of China, they absolutely hate everything that allows people to move wealth from their country to another. Bitcoin is perfectly suitable for that job, and that's exactly why I don't believe China will ever approach Bitcoin in a friendly manner.

why chian should pose a stance agaionst this when other country in asia are not doing the opposite? i mean in japan with bitcoin you could do the same you can move your wealth outside of japan, but still the government accepted it as a currency

Uh-oh, it kinda looks you are neither from China nor Japan

I know that you are from Italy, so it is forgivable that you might not know the history. Japan and China are likely the worst enemies that nations could ever be. And thus it shouldn't be completely ruled out that Japan accepted Bitcoin as a means of payment specifically to spite China. Apart from that, I don't see a lot of reasons why countries should be helping each other when they are in fact more often than not competing between themselves (and sometimes even fighting and killing their folks)

It's not Money and hopefully never turn into Money. The way it Works is much better compared with Money.
IN some aspect, we can still consider bitcoin as a type of money, an online money. Moreover, many platforms and stores have accepted Bitcoin as a payment method. No matter how you want Bitcoin not to become money, it is now being turned into a real type of money
i think there is no doubt about that bitcoin is money, as we can see that bitcoin is now using for online shopping, and most of the online shops accept bitcon for shopping. even in some places people have the facilities to use bitcoin for shopping in fat shops. therefore we can say that bitcoin is money and we even do not need to convert it in to other fiat currency while using it.

you are forgotting that bitcoin allow also the contrary, to move money from abroad to your country, and i suspect this is the reason why japan decide to allow bitcoin, it can increase the income money

i see bitcoin as a way for country to help each other, by moving funds where are needed
Exactly, the faster the transaction it will grow the economy of a certain country because there will be less boundaries that will hindrance success.
Now that japan has recognized and accepted bitcoin, it will triggered a positive market for the entire crypto currency because this success of bitcoin will benefit the alts also, just recently the XRP is surging and I believe Japan has some big contribution to it.

Essentially the same can be said in respect to Russian government

Some people who are completely unfamiliar with the lay of the land in Russia and who have heard it in Internets that the Russian government is about to start regulating Bitcoin as a sort of "financial product" are going wild with joy as though that meant anything good to Bitcoin. Russia simply can't ban Bitcoin right now since quite a lot of influential countries either openly expressed their support to Bitcoin (Switzerland, Japan, Australia, etc) or show overall friendly attitude toward it (the US and EU, for example), so it is a no-op for them. But this doesn't mean that they won't try to regulate Bitcoin up to a point where it is no longer usable by ordinary people (at least, not in a legal way)

Anything that is being used as a medium of exchange is money. Bitcoin, like gold, is money.

That's right. Because if we are talking about bitcoin, we also talking about money. Bitcoin is another type of currency in which, we can also convert it into philippine money. Similar to the dollar, bitcoin can also buy and sell.
Agree, and this currency gives up opportunity to make more money because of volatility of value. Even we do not have real paper money or coin bitcoin can be used to buy and sell some of the products we have by using online transaction. We should treasure this currency because bitcoin will help us to make rich someday.
yes there no doubt about this that bitcoin is money itself. in fact bitcoin can be use both for online as well as for offline purposes. in fact in present time most of the online shops are accepting bitcoin for online purposes. while in some places bitcoin is also using as fat currency for shopping n our local shops but due to lack of bitcoin users these facilities are available in such places only where the users of bitcoin are more.
yes that  is very right bitcoin can be use for both the purposes, we can use bitcoin both for online as well as can use it in our local shops. but it can be use in local shops only in such areas where the users of bitcoin are too many and therefore they have the facilities to use bitcoin even in their local shops, where the shopkeepers accept bitcoin for shopping. hope that very soon we will also be able to use bitcoin in our local shops.

Its not to say that they dont know about bitcoin or understand it. Is that they can only do so much about the decentralized movement. When decentralization starts to really catch on (exchanges, marketplaces, anonymity) they will have less and less power.

The kicker is sooner or later tax revenues will plummet. Stop for a minute and imagine the consequences of that.

Money and investment, that's bitcoin. For short term bitcoin can be used for buying goods transactions online, or exchange bitcoin to fiat. For future, bitcoin is a good choice in addition to precious metals or properties. Bitcoin can work better ie, trading to altcoins.

The volatility of value is good for traders and we love to see them playing with the price as that would lead to increases of demand if they want to gamble on it. For me, my concern only now is on the future of bitcoin, hence instead of mastering how to trade and make active money, I just focus on investing and hoping my discipline to hold will pay be good dividends in the future.

This post began in 2010. It is interesting to see the changes in attitude over 6 or 7 years. Governments rule on what is is according to what benefits them at the time.

Some say money, some say property. It is what is is!

Well if we considere this, it is what it is then Bitcoin is a currency.  from the whitepaper, and definition, Bitcoin is a peer to peer electronic currency.  And now it is being considered as payment method and money by different countries like Japan, Philippines and soon by Australia.  Another good thing with bitcoin is it can be use as store of value too  Tongue

Since Bitcoin is not really accepted as money by other countries by definition that is more like an asset or commodity. So we can say that Bitcoin functions like money and also known as digital currency that is used as a medium of exchange or transactions especially in online world.

Yes bitcoin is an online money, you can use it to purchase items and get paid through it. many users are investing in btc for the hope to earn because of its flactuating price. it only need to be widely accepted so many people would recognize it.

i agree with you because until now, there is still few place or country that allow bitcoin to used for payment or for buying something in real life and bitcoin is only available in online so if we want to buy something by online, i think we can found store that will accepting bitcoin as the payment. but i realize, in online store, there is still a few store that accepting bitcoin but i am sure that in the future, bitcoin will be accepted in every where.
yes there is no doubt that now there are so many online shops who are giving you option about to use bitcoin for shopping. even there are some ares for example in brazil where people are using bitcoin in real shops, in fact there the users of bitcoin are too more and they have good opportunity to use bitcoin even in ther local shops.
