Yea,bitcoin is money but it is not like other kinds of money.Bitcoin is crypto currency internet money which you can see only online on internet and not like thing which you can touch. You can buy bitcoin in bitkonan and sell also and you can keep your bitcoins in bitkonan wallet and wait them until they grow.
Bitcoin is not that ordinary money or currency because bitcoin is so powerful and advanced in terms of being a currency. Bitcoin is the new type of currency and a lot of people using it right now and keep buying it from different sites. I didn't hear that name bithokan but i think it is an online site and i don't think it is good to keep your bitcoins there for a long time because it is too risky for you to risk your money and the hackers might steal your bitcoins.

Reality of bitcoin is not as popular as fiat currency money and I do agree that this not just an ordinary money that you can barely see anywhere. Bitcoin money cannot be defined by any individuals directly, because it has a hidden identity that could not be recognized by people immediately. Only those who had proper understanding can appreciate it's use, and by bitcoin money you can have freedom  by using it for different purposes online; just like fiat currency they're both having the same impressions with regards to spending and saving money for profitable investments.

Bitcoin is the digital currency of the new generation and it is more created for entertainment. I do not expect a long-term outlook, because without the Internet, it will simply disappear.
Yes, I agree that the main source of this money is the internet but how come one could say that it is just an entertainment. Are the people buying it are crazy ?

This is something astonished me sorry to say but it is not entertainment dear. It is for real it exists and when you talk about the internet stuff then let me correct you that the whole banking system of the world is now a day working on the internet.

You can’t withdraw, transfer and deposit money to your account when the internet link is down. It doesn’t mean that the bank employees sitting there are jokers to enter entertain someone.

Is bitcoin money? I think better than money. because with bitcoin can avoid inflation, currently save money same with store numbers, just look good but not worth it.

What do you mean by not worth it? Are you trying to say that its not worth to have bitcoins in wallet or it is just a waste of time and money and if you have that feeling then you are totally wrong as bitcoin is a future of money.
yes it is non sense saying, bitcoin is so much important and profitable and specially for those people who have good skill. skillful people can really get good benefit from bitcoin, hope that bitcoin will remain as one of the most import or our life and we will be using bitcoin in future as fiat currency even in our local shops in our area.

For me, bitcoin is not money. It performs the functions of gold, payment of the system and cash. Bitcoin is something in common with what I called.
We have different understanding but for me it's money because it has a value and more valuable than fiat.
When I have a lot of bitcoins, I will think I am rich because it's money that I am holding.

If you have a lot of gold you will think you are rich as well, but gold is not money, right? It is money if you are spending it on your daily expenses. But if you are just holding it, then it just becomes an investment.
One of the qualities of money is that it should also be a store of value and gold is an asset that serves as a good store of value, so we can rightly say that gold is also a form of money which one can easily exchange for cash anytime anywhere across the globe. It is readily acceptable because people see it as a form of money.

You do have a point, but actually i don't agree btc is for entertainment purposes.  I feel that it does have far more reaching potential than the 'powers that be' would like to acknowledge.   To start with, the fact that regular people like ourselves have btc means the establishment may not like it.

I don't think it's more created for entertainment but it is certainly created for avoiding centralized transactions and it is good for investing. Why people are keep on telling about the disappearance of internet. With the current situation of the world today, internet is a necessity and it is not going to disappear, so bitcoin will remain and will be treated as money and investment.

Bitcoin is something radically new. Nothing like Bitcoin has been possible until now. I would go so far as to consider it sui generis; "in its own class".  This makes it important to understand what Bitcoin actually is before we try to describe it to others.

We're getting a good handle on the code, and of course on Bitcoin's function and utility, but what words should we use to describe Bitcoin itself? There has been some debate in other threads [mostly my doing] over how it is like/not like money, cash, dollars, etc. I'd like to start this thread by focusing on the term "money", and play Devil's avocate by asking for your best arguments that Bitcoin IS money.

My legal dictionary states "In usual and ordinary acceptation it [money] means gold, silver, or paper money, used as circulating medium of exchange, and does not embrace notes, bonds, evidences of debt, or other personal or real estate." [cites omitted]

Wikipedia says "Money is any object that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context. The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange; a unit of account; a store of value; and, occasionally, a standard of deferred payment." [cited omitted]

Webster's Online Dictionary defines money as:
    • 1. The most common medium of exchange; functions as legal tender; "we tried to collect the money he owed us".
    • 2. Wealth reckoned in terms of money; "all his money is in real estate".
    • 3. The official currency issued by a government or national bank; "he changed his money into francs".
    • 4. A piece of metal, as gold, silver, copper, etc., coined, or stamped, and issued by the sovereign authority as a medium of exchange in financial transactions between citizens and with government; also, any number of such pieces; coin.
    • 5. Any written or stamped promise, certificate, or order, as a government note, a bank note, a certificate of deposit, etc., which is payable in standard coined money and is lawfully current in lieu of it; in a comprehensive sense, any currency usually and lawfully employed in buying and selling.
    • 6. In general, wealth; property; as, he has much money in land, or in stocks; to make, or lose, money.
    [links omitted]
    [/list]

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

But that is just my point of view. Are there any that can convincingly argue otherwise, that Bitcoin IS money?

I think bitcoin is money because you can but the things that you want in online market.Bitcoins are commonly use in many transaction like business, investing, and trading so I think the bitcoins is money.

Bitcoin is a digital money but its same as real money as we can earn it in different ways and also use it for buying goods like paper money so the features of bitcoin are similar to that of real money.

Hundred of years ago, people don't have coins and paper money with them, what they have are goods to trade to merchants coming from other countries, like furs, herbs and other local products, it functioned like money but its not money. Fast forward today we have coins and bank notes that we use as money to buy things that we want, can we still buy using furs and herbs, no. What about Bitcoin, can we walk in a store and buy using Bitcoin, depends if they accept Bitcoin but if they do then Bitcoin "functions" just like money and besides you buy them using your money or you get paid with Bitcoin for services.

Bitcoin is also a money and also an investment for me so I don't like to treat it as a money as I have fiat money to take care of my expenses so most of my coins I save for the future to get best returns on my investments.
As quoted bitcoin have got multipurpose usage. Each gives preference based on the way they consider it. Probably most consider it an investment for a better future. I too save it as much possible through different sources available as it gives spending as well earning accessibilities.
You should save as many Bitcoin as you can because it is not only a type of money but it also treasure, technology, and potential. I have more than 10 Bitcoin right now and I will try to earn more. Perhaps I will have 20 bitcoin at the end of 2017
When it is said that Bitcoin is the future of money, the real meaning is that Bitcoin should have the capacity to be everything we know of money and much more. That is why we can see Bitcoin as a commodity like old, a currency like the fiats and a stock like Apple. The  money of the future indeed has to be many things in one to be able to fit into the economy of the future.
