Bitcoin is intended to be used as money. The extent to which it differs from the various definitions of money is primarily due to its unpopularity and lack of government sanction, which in my opinion should not matter when speaking about it as "money."
Yes, there is no harm if we consider that bitcoin is the same as the money will be different but the shape is called a digital currency. If the money we can use in the real world and directly but if bitcoin it could only be used in the internet world. but in the end it also endowed a bitcoin can we use to help our real life needs. with bitcoin we can make money is useful in the future.

everyone defines the bitcoin / alcoin differently. and I define bitcoin as a transactional tool that changes form or value, from crypto currency to local currency that can be used by the world community. and it's very easy for bitcoin users in terms of transactions, very useful and very helpful.

I think bitcoin is not money, but bitcoin can be converted into money. bitcoin is not the same as money because bitcoin there is no serial number, bitcoin is also not physical like money.
Bitcoin is qualifies as money, the characteristic is better than fiat. I think serial number of paper money will not make it non counterfeitable. It's also easy to carry and safe. Bitcoin is money, it is virtual global currency.

Bitcoin can be interpreted into two different sides because bitcoin is not real money, Bitcoin isn't money that hands can touch because bitcoin is virtual money that can be converted into real money. So many ways people interpret what is the meaning of bitcoin Wink

Bitcoin is a new kind of money with which you can invest and disintegrate. It differs from ordinary currencies by its anonymity and rapid growth, but it is also money.
the value and the importance of the bitcoin is increasing as it is being use on huge level now bitcoin is using for a lot of purposes it is both a currency and the investment as well it is very safe and secure even more than money. It is safe to keep in wallet and we can buy everything we want for our daily life so bitcoin is useable like money.

So long you can walk into a store and pay with something I see it as a valid money. So do I see Bitcoin as money? Yes. Did you know that the paper money you pay with can be worthless tomorrow just like Bitcoin? Gold is kinda the only safe currency that survived in all the times. The good thing about Bitcoin you can pay everywhere in Bitcoin without having to calculate someone else local currency. But some history lessons about the past can not hurt and it has happened before in history that paper money suddenly became worthless. It can happen again.
Nicely written!
In my opinion more and more cryptocoins will want to have some cover in the background, for example Xaurum, which has a backing with physical investment gold.

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

+1 agreed.  It's a commodity, a digital store of value.

Bitcoin is money, cause you can go to an exchange and sell bitcoin for real cash. There is also alt coin that help to convert bitcoin to cash easier. Like OMG whereby it uses blockchain to remit money eaiser. Tenx enables to use bitcoin and other alt coins that can be used for debit card payment. Ethereum also use smart contract to allows fund raising ICO to gather money so they have their own startups.

Yes bitcoin is money to me as I can easily sell my bitcoins and get fiat money in exchange and can use it in buying anything and it serves the same purpose as fiat money does so for me bitcoin is a money in digital form which can be converted to physical form for making purchases.
to me, bitcoin is even beyond money because it has many things which traditional currency can not have such as the security and the anonimity. Moreover, bitcoin is quite fast for big transaction and there is no limit if you want to send 1000 or 100000 bitcoin in 1 transaction. What make bitcoin even stronger is that you can use bitcoin anonymously without being traced by anyone
yes it is, it is  a money for everyone in this world and it is open for all, thats why i like it very much. i earn my daily earnings thru it, it is a currency that can be gain thru internet thats why it is accessible by everyone who wants it, thats why i am really recognizing it as my money and i am very loving it and treated as my money.

Well I could only say that it is not money but instead it is a currency, another form of currency that is digital. It is true that it has the same purpose as of fiat but the difference is also quite large, you see Bitcoin is in digital form and that is also a means of innovation, but the biggest thing about it is that it is decentralized. While in money/fiat it is decentralized and the government are the one controlling it.

Bitcoin is not in physical form but bitcoin has all those features as fiat money, we can use it to buy things in online shops, we can use it for payment and for investment in any business, and in the money concept dont matter how many peoples really use this as money.
If we ask a common person, what is the meaning of money for him? Definitely he would be saying the paper money we use to buy things. Even in this sense, bitcoins is money. It is used to buy things and pay for services in several countries. By any definition possible, Bitcoin is a currency.

Bitcoin is superior to money itself. Because its value continues to grow with limited supply. While in money, value always decreases from year to year. So, if we still want money then bitcoin is the best tool and place.
How amusing to read, I don't mean to offend you but where are you're proofs of money is decreasing every year and then? I mean there is no such thing. I think you're only describing the Fiat of your country and not all those fiats of other countries.

As far as I know, Bitcoin is not that very good as you describe it would be. I mean money/cash/fiat is still good when it come to utilizing it I mean despite to those countries that have already accepted it still not that good.

Is bitcoin money?

The answer is YES

But bitcoin is money for the Internet. It is a scarce digital commodity used as money by millions around the world. People buy coffee with Bitcoin at local shops. Others get paid in Bitcoin and use it to shop online. Friends use it to settle with whoever paid for dinner. Workers send Bitcoin back home to help family, regardless of where they live.

Since its start in 2009, Bitcoin has provided an alternative to traditional government-issued money. No single government, corporation, or nation controls Bitcoin. There is no need for a Bitcoin bank. People store Bitcoin in software called a wallet, which is available for almost any device.
