It is real to me.
It was a little more fun once my mining gear was paid for to buy stuff with it (fluffy Overstock down comforter :-).
Now I buy and spend and save

Mine was used for expenses daily. I just save for now. Christmas bonuses are coming so my bitcoins now wont be moving down it will be all profit for now.

There's a consistent theme that I see popping up on here that I find rather fascinating, and that is the way that many posters perceive BTC.

What do I mean? People doing things with BTC that they'd never, ever dream of doing with their dollars - gambling as an 'investment', or gambling at all, pouring coins into bullshit investment schemes run by totally anonymous showers of shit, lending on here to shambolic morons, asking the question 'where do I get free coins?'

Considering how much of a pain up the arse it can be to obtain coins and keep them safe and their future potential, I find it bizarre that there's such an extreme disconnect. I would've thought it should be at the opposite end of the scale but that's clearly not the case for many.

Why do you think this attitude has developed and where do you stand yourself?
Journalists and academics also dispute what to call bitcoin. Some media outlets do make a distinction between "real" money and bitcoins while others call bitcoin real money this is declared in Wall Street Journal commodity in December 2013. According us its a real money Just move forward with that Don't see them.

YEAHHH, of course it is. When I first heard about it from a friend, I thought he was bsing this, so I thought btc was like a video game cash. But it acts and does the exact same as real dollars.

For me too Its real money But its in a digital form of crypto currency. It has international value more than all fiat currency So Bitcoin is undoubtedly Its a real world money.

BTC is real money.

It is also a unique asset class that has low correlation with other currencies and asset classes.

This makes it more valuable, since it can help diversify a portfolio and thus reduce its variance in returns over time.

I looked up the definition of money

Money

"A medium that can be exchanged for goods and services and is used as a measure of their values on the market, including among its forms a commodity such as gold, an officially issued coin or note, or a deposit in a checking account or other readily liquefiable account.""
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/money

The moment you can use it to buy for goods/services it IS real money so yes it is real money.

Yes Bitcoin is money.
Here is reason why: unit of account, portable, durable, divisible, fungible, store of value
These are the main features "real money" should have and Bitcoin has all of them.

By the way all the USD, Euro, Yen, Yuan etc. is no real money. This is currency!Big difference! Currency never holds it's purchasing power over years and decades. Therefore it lacks the feature as store of value.

Only Bitcoin is real money. As one who loves reason and loathes violence, it seems insane to me now that I ever supported violence-backed fiatscrip bloodnotes.

I was joking about the whole "nuke this and that" thing, by the way. Just having some fun. Not about Donald Trump though. *winks at mods*
