I invest into bitcoin to have more options into spending in the future. In a way it is like real money because you can spend it, save it and earn it. Just like the cash you use everyday.

Yeah the difference is it is online. That is why some people think it is not real. They are telling people to get away from bitcoin because it is bad and is not real. Those who havent experience using it ill stay that way without knowing it is useful.

Yes due to no physical form (not most commonly used), people are lagging on recognizing bitcoin as real money. Even we can have physical bitcoin with private key in it, many people are not accepting it as real money. Without knowing the facts of bitcoin many people are staying away and asking other people to stay away.

The main reasons the average joe stands away from Bitcoin is because of it's high volatility and general misunderstanding of the thing, they still think that it's some weird technology used by terrorists because that's pretty much what mainstream media has said yet and most average people get their news from the mainstream media.

Bitcoin is of course less worthy than my fiat assets but it doesn't means its over fiat or such. It would have been real money to me if i was a bit early to adopt and was able to collect some thousands of coins.

Bitcoin is more than just money! Its Freedom.
yeas it is but is unrelated here.

That's the point how you use bitcoin. If you have thousands of bitcoin, then you can use it as money. Otherwise, you may save them for price appreciations as an investment.
For me, bitcoin is an investment. It may take decades for me to use bitcoin as money.

Good point. With respect to bitcoin ecosystem, we can say bitcoin is in "investment' era. Once bitcoin evolved into main stream adoption and gets a stable price and more importantly all most 99% of total bitcoin get mined out, we can assume bitcoin enters into "money" era.

Yes, the OP must be like this "Is bitcoin real money or investment to you".
But many people here are using bitcoin as real money even they do not hold any big amounts of bitcoin. May be the ease and convenient nature of bitcoin is the reason for them.

For me yes, because I can buy almost everything using BTC. And it is easy to use and earn them on many other ways.

Compare to other earning online resources bitcoin must be easiest and offering multiple types earning opportunity. But earning bitcoin is equivalent to earning USD or simply money. So, bitcoin is also a money for me too.

ya it is real money because you can do what fiat currency can do, we can buy things , recharge mobile, datacard, dth etc., we can buy food in some countrys, and you can change bitcoins to fiat currency and you can expenses it for your needs.

so it is clear that it is real money as what you can do with fiat currency 99% you can do with bitcoins

Yes to me it is realy money. I can do the same thing with fiat as I can do with bitcoin. The difference is that it's not accepted everywhere, which makes it harder to spend.
Plus bitcoin is a digital currency, you can't see or feel it, that's another difference but other than that, it's exactly the same to me.

Yeah right. You need to withdraw it before spending it in other shops. That is one of the problem. But having your own bank is the good side of it. Plus profit when it goes up.

Define 'real money'. If you can buy real things for it then of course it is real. There is no better definition and explanation for this. As long as you can buy food and pay your bills it's real.
On the side note: do you think your thoughts are 'real'?

No, it's the closest thing to idealized currency presently possible.

It doesn't have value as a money to me but I have a clear distinction between the two. Other than my own pedagogy a normal person probably wouldn't recognize the difference between the two.

FWIW I consider a money something tangible with an application that makes it desirable outside of value storage. Currency is superior for trade and exchange, to me.
