Hello pals,
Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family, they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer. Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins? Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
I really appreciate if you  guys give me some answers

Of course. We all know a lot wallets and differnt places that we can put our bitcoins. We all can sure that it is secure because of full enegaged securities like email address and phone numbers. But of course it would be put in danger if the owner is very careless and do not aware of who is using his device and gadgets.

The only way hackers can get your Bitcoins is by stealing them out of your centralized wallet (when your private keys are kept on the servers of an exchange or online wallet). It is impossible to steal Bitcoins within the blockchain, because it cannot be cheated. Your Bitcoins are totally safe if you keep them in a hardware wallet.

from 2009 to 2017 the development is very good, and so far bitcoin can be said to be very safe or with altcoin, I think it is very safe, except your own carelessness, like showing your private key address in public place.

Yes Bitcoin is really secure.. You can use safely and thy system is also safe and secure. you just save you wallet where you store your bitcoin. you can use blockchain wallet and bitaddress both are save and secure. you just safe you wallet secure information.. Like privet Key, pin code , password, email  or so many Backup Information. You don't need to share your wallet information. if you lost or careless about this that's time you might be loss your bitcoin. Just Keep It safely.

On the other hand the government could not do any think about your bitcoin. Because government don't have any control and they cannot  track bitcoin. So Without any worry you just use bitcoin safely.

Dude the bitcoin block chain is very secure  in order to hack the blockchain. You need to hack the all miners mining rigs to modify the blockchain.
The hackable part is the bitcoin wallets from your phones and pc, so you need to be careful.

Currently the government is not involved in the management of bitcoin. So bitcoin is not legally recognized but your purchase or sale of bitcoin is not illegal. Bitcoin contains many risks, most of which come from your carelessness. If you disclose personal information, you will definitely be hacked, the money you earn will be lost

It is impossible for a blockchain to be hacked, this made bitcoin special. It was perfectly establish with great security that no one can interfere with it even the government. On the other hand, if its about the wealth at the wallet, you have to be extra careful. Your bitcoin depends on how careless you are once someone got access on your wallet you arr no more in control with it. As much as possible do not have an exchange wallet. Bitcoin is secure, it was tested for many years. Many have tried to crash it but they fail.

it is precisely such an assumption, whether or not the bitcoin depends on how careless you are keeping the key or in its use, keep it and keep things that are related to your bitcoin wallet in order to be safe

If we talk about the security issue of our bitcoin wallet, it will depend on each individual. Some people, either because of their ignorance or laziness, will be satisfied with standard security only. If we want to spend a little time to implement the most advanced security system then the possibility of our wallet to be hacked by someone else will be very small.

Bitcoin is secure ,no one will ever hack into your bitcoin wallet and steal your money ,unless and until you give private keys to someone by mistake or your computer gets hacked and your private keys get into the possession of the hacker or god forbid even worse. If you are using your exchange you must be very careful for you never what will happen to your bitcoin. Also it would be better if you enable 2FA(Two-Factor Authentication).

Even in real currencies there is a risk of being stolen, burning with fire or fake Cry
In bitcoin network I can say that it is secured. And when someone's own wallet was stolen, I think it is his problem.

It's either, his exposing too much information on the net and he got the eye of the hackers.

And besides, clicking some malware, click baits and other phishing links, these are causing you to be prone in hacking.

I think the bitcoin itself is secured but your bitcoin account or bitcoin wallet for example is not that secured. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency created by the digital world,  but your account that cotains bitcoin is the target of those hackers.

yes right, and I think it's easier to guess 1000 email passwords than get 1 bitcoin address account, this is because bitcoin is made for very sophisticated and future security.

what does this have anything to do with bitcoin security?

I meant by that feeling safe having Bitcoins,What if someday a governement decide to ban Bitcoins becasue of illegal usage of it?This may lead to a huge loss for people that live in those countries where Bitcoins has been banned.Don't you think that it is a potential risk?I understand that you feel like that it's off-topic BUT it is part security since we need  to be feeling safe when converting our wealth in Bitcoins.

You will probably answer me saying that there will always be a way to have access to our Bitcoins even if it's banned, but don't forget that even if we do have access to it we may probably not be able to convert it back to our local currency or use it in daily basis.

Its secure as long as you don't play any foolish stuff with it.

Online web wallets can be hacked, like CoinBase/BlockChain.info/etc, that's why I always prefer paper wallets though.
What the above mate has mentioned is true, but same time the web wallet hacking happens very rarely. I have been using web wallet since my entry into bitcoin usage. I haven't got into any such hacks, importantly majority of the hack is due to the mistake done by the user themselves.

No doubt, the fact is the level of security of bitcoin is very high, I believe only 1: 1 billion people can steal bitcoin. This is because bitcoin is designed for the security of future transactions.

Yes, bitcoin is really secure. You know why? because of decentralization of bitcoin has, with this features of bitcoin none of the government are not able to control your holding bitcoin, unless you become careless you know what I mean, and your the only one who keep your password and private. So its really safe and secured.

As everything happening with bitcoin is truly dependent on the internet connectivity there are chances of being getting hacked. In the past there are several security concerns regarding the security of the bitcoin holding. Now this has been made more secure with several features and different types of wallet availability and functionalities.

Yes, it also depends on ourselves, so we should not be careless. But I guess the bitcoins are secure because they use blockchain technology that allows us to view transparency of transaction data. Blockchain also has good privacy security, so I guess the bitcoin is secure.
