I am a strong believer in HODL. I expected bitcoin volatility decreases as time goes by, I totally didn't expect such big price change in the past several days.

Is bitcoin volatility here to stay and not decrease?
Bitcoin volatility is definitely here to stay for a long time to come. It is obviously impossible to perfectly predict when this volatility will end but it will most likely reduce once mass adoption occurs.
This volatility exists because people are still unsure about bitcoin and will not end until everyone is educated about blockchain technology. Currently the user base is also relatively low, meaning that a little amount of people hold all its supply and therefore leads to easier market manipulation. As more and more people purchase bitcoin, its distribution becomes more diverse and less price manipulation can occur.

The volatility of bitcoin is ditermines when a lot of people are buying or selling there bitcoins and in that way volatility is born. That means volatility is not only here in this furom but it depends on all people around the world.
Volatility is best thing I guess but some inexperienced people gets worry about the volatility. Price changes when it rises we can invest our money but when it falls i guess it’s much better to hold. We should sell only at green. So keep holding  never give up just focus on your goal one day price id gona be very high we should just keep patience.

Bitcoin volatility is part of the game so far because there is not so much volume even if we think it is, this is still baby volume compare to other currencies or companies and in time the volatility will slowly decrease.

I know you don't like, I didin't like it either when I first joined Bitcoin in 2013 but without volatility do you think we would have had so many investors ? I think not because this creates a lot of new opportunities for everyone, anytime they join.

Maybe in 10 years at least we will see another type of volatility for bitcoin but you're looking for stable coins maybe wait for Libra ?

the Bitcoin market is growing on an everyday basis. Given this fact, the more money that is in a market, the less volatility there is. However, we have seen under the corrupt and terrible Donald Trump administration numerous stock market crashes of epic proportions. so it can still happen under terrible leadership even to such a large market like the stock market if the leaders are incompetent.

Over the past three months, the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market has decreased by almost 40%, and the largest share falls on Bitcoin.  This indicates, first of all, that cryptocurrency users are afraid for their money and get rid of Bitcoin because they lose confidence in it.  Negative feedback about Bitcoin regarding the scaling and relatively too expensive mining, which is becoming unprofitable and inappropriate, is constantly heard.
In my opinion this sudden price movements are not coincidental - it looks like straight up manipulation from group of big players. Negative thoughts about scaling and inefficiency of mining are presents since begining of BTC so this can't have that big impact on market prices

Excessive Volatility indicates that there are a lot less users who have adopted this technology therefore the market is not evenly spread. Whales with big wallets can easily manipulate the whole market on their side using a big trade. Coming to your question volatility will decrease if lot more traders enter into the market making the market evenly spread with lot of people. In stock markets we have a lot of investors even talking about whales there are a lot of whales in stock market having different opinions at everytime which makes market less volatile as when one whales wants to dump the price down the other tries to keep it up thus making the market less price elastic to every movement.

crypto market volatility will definitely stay and although many people expect this market to be more stable but I am not sure that will happen in this high demand market. so with the rapid rise and fall of prices this is a character of the crypto market itself so it is not easy to predict
Would only say that bitcoin is not stable if I will see it happening, but IMO, its not likely to take place since we cannot control the demand and supply and its been happening in the market that when there's a big demand some people are holding not selling their bitcoins as that's a good strategy to increase the value.

Bitcoin is volatile because its difference from other currency, it can be a currency and as an investment at the same time, and take note, supply is fix and there will be no more printing like money.

The volatility of bitcoins, like other decentralized cryptocurrencies, will always exist. Some believe that the more people get involved in cryptocurrency and use its services, the less cryptocurrency will be volatile. If this circumstance will affect a decrease in volatility, then insignificantly. Negative and positive news will also appear and it is with them that cryptocurrency holders will continue to be guided. So far, I do not see any prospects for reducing the price volatility of the cryptocurrency.
Price volatility attracts good players to ride with the situations, taking advantage from investors who are not ready to compete with big players. Those who are easy being move from certain market sways are the favorite of big whales inside, as long as manipulations are taking the big space of this industry Volatility will continue to take over. It's the investors own point of views to work out from this venue of investment.

Volatility is what makes the Bitcoin market attractive, movements tend to be faster than in the Stock Market. Volatility must know how to take, so as not to affect the integrity of the trader or speculator, it is a market that can be unpredictable, I believe that volatilide will always be present and is here to stay.

It only makes it attractive to speculators/traders. Most people do not want a volatile currency/monetary system.
but most cryptocurrency users do need volatile prices, because they can use that to their advantage. however, there will always be requests, and needs. this will create volatility that will continue to exist. as long as it is decentralized, I think it will be very difficult to maintain the stability of a coin.

The volatility not only for bitcoin but also for other cryptocurrencies are here to stay. Volatility is like a trade mark for the cryptocurrencies because when you say that you are trading a very volatile type of asset then it is easily understood that it is cryptocurrency and with that volatility, you can make a lot of money in a shorter time compare to other type of trading because there is a lot of cryptocurrency to trade and they are always open 24/7.
Yeah, I don't understand why some people hate the crypto's volatility since because of this property of the crypto the trade is never-ending. Moreover, it is the price fluctuations that also interest new traders to the crypto market. So as long as the crypto is surviving, the volatility will remain here to stay...
It is right that because of fluctuations in the price of bitcoin there are a lot of traders who are investing their money in bitcoin and are doing trade which is considered as a fantastic feature by them but there are some other people who are not expert traders but want to invest in bitcoin and want the price to increase continuously or with decreased fluctuations so that they do not worry with the fluctuating price.

The question is rather: is Fiat volatility going to worsen. Remember BTC is the standard (1=1), it's 'volatile' because we still see it as 2nd tier to 'official currencies' (printed paper). Before 2030 I expect a basket of goods to be denoted in BTC - thus making it stable (and this price would perhaps only gradually decrease at whatever the inflation rate of BTC is at that time).

I think the bitcoin volatility could last for the next 10-20 years because of the number of people using bitcoin and other cryptos is relatively small. I think the price volatility depends on the number of people using bitcoin, big or small. There you go Mr. HODLer here is your chance.

Well that's one of the consequences of decentralization and not having any central control. Learn how to live by it and you would make lots of profits trust me. you just have to learn how the market cycles (I bet you would not be right all the time but at least you would make some decent profits) and place your orders. The cryptocurrency market is always going to be volatile unless we choose to give the power back to the government again and settle for fiat corrupt currency.

The volatility of bitcoin will never be gone for your information. The value of bitcoin right now is not that good but if you wish that volatility will be gone well, for sure it will be more decrease.  We should take the volatility as a normal thing on bitcoin.
To survive on volatility make sure you have enough money to invest on other tokens, this is just my opinion.
