I'm new to mining and am wondering whether BITMAIN is trustworthy or not.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

No. Even today, they're lying about S7 parameters.

The one time I ordered direct from BitMain, the order arrived in 3 business days via DHL.
Very competative on time with most folks I order stuff from in the US (Newegg can beat that if they ship from their Indianapolis facility, but usually takes a day or two longer since I usually use their "saver" option).

My first 2 s-9's arrive in a day.  I will let you all know how they setup in the solar array.

I decided to order 2 more.  So I spent just about 8.3k  for 4 miners and shipping.

as far as a company can be legit in China.

As far as dealing with a company in China;   ....     I'm talking about ethics here, not ethnicity.

you have to deal with their shitty ethics

Thats not racism.

You're suggesting that a company is implicitly unethical because its Chinese, not only is that racist but nearly every example of mining companies has shown the opposite.

"Western" companies
BlackArrow
AMT
HashFast
Technobit
CoinTerra
HashCoins
BitMine
BFL (lol)
SpondooliesTech (unpaid debts etc)
KNCMiner
XBTech (Russian team in CN)
BitCrane
GAWMiners
Bitfury (the exception)

Asian companies
RockMiner
BTCGarden
Canaan Creative
Bitmain
ASICMiner (the exception, and one man)

Buy Directly from bitmain IMO, warranty can become an issue if you get it from someone else.

I have bought 4 S1's and 2 S3's from them , all worked great, no issues.  S1 is still hashing (more so to prove out how much of a beast it is ) about 2 years it's been going.
It depends if you want faster shipping or not. Sometimes I will buy from websites like eBay because they ship from the US, not China, and I'm willing to take the extra cost for saving time. Warranty has never been an issue for me even buying from eBay or Amazon. The only bad thing is, people resell for a higher cost there, and if you're willing to buy it for more, but have a smaller ship time, this is for you.

Bitmain's trustworthy enough that you can safely buy from them, unlike BFL which ended up not sending it's miners at all for many people. For now, it is safe, but watch out , because as Bitmain becomes more of a monopoly this could change.

Shipping time from Bitmain in China is about as fast as anyone in the US. My new S9 shipped later Sunday and it's expected tomorrow. Occasionally it will get held up in customs for a couple of days, but I only had that problem when I bought 35 S5's all at once and the customs folks didn't know what they were.
When I buy 1 or 2 units it takes about 48 hours (West coast).

 You forgot a few.

 Innosilicon
 LKEtc (and BW.COM by extension)
 Gridseed/SFARDS
 Alcheminer

Too early to tell on the X11 miner makers, but all three of them so far seem to have actual legitimate products, abet with some issues here and there.

By Cryptocoin Miner Manufacture INDUSTRY standards, Bitmain is well above average on reliability and trustworthyness on gear sold, so-so on warrentee repair.
By the standards of MOST industries, they could use some improvement across the board.

Innosilicon has done sales to small miners also, especially those "Farm Boy" units that appear to have specifically targeted the small miner.
They also made miners that had a VERY VERY GOOD reliability record - better than anyone else in the industry except LKEtc (then again, there seems to have been some cross-manufacture and/or cross-design on some of that gear given the Dragon and Terminator designs and LKEtc using Innosilicon chips IN the Dragons).

Sadly, most other "direct to small miner" companies have either not done well in the long term even when they had a good product (Spondoolies as the best example) or were outright scammers/liars/incompetant (can YOU say KNC and Butterfly Labs, among other WORSE examples?).

We bought 900 antMiner S7 from them without any problems. Except maybe customs asking WTF.

Wow. 900.
I got customs hassles with just 35 S5's last year. Roll Eyes

I can say my experience with Bitmain has been 99% good since my first S3+ purchases.

The 1% is a set of S7 boards I sent for repair that apparently were lost. I shipped EMS and tracking says 'delivered'. But Bitmain can't find them.

As for price, you can choose to mine or not, based on price. If you choose not to, and so do others, the price will drop. It's sad that only Bitmain seems to care about selling to smaller miners but I'm glad they do.

'The right to privacy matters'
This is a thread about reliability and you didn't expect arguments coming?  Roll Eyes

This topic is about the trustworthiness of BITMAIN.

Should have made it "self moderated" then   Wink

Live & learn  Cool

Op you can lock thread and then do a self modded thread.
The problem with your question is most if not all ASIC  builders have done wrong to some of us.

So people will make pretty nasty remarks about them.

If you buy an s-9 or an s7 or and s-7ln

Pay with btc fast with proper fee to the blockchain

Answer the email they send fast.

You have a 100% chance of getting the gear.

Based on my 50 purchases to New Jersey

You have a 2 in 50 chance for bad or slow gear.

Based on my 50 purchases.

If you get bad gear they are slow to fix it.

Avalon purchases I got 45 Avalon 6s or Avalon 4s

Sent to me in NJ
0 were broken
I broke 1 they were fast to sell me the repair part at a good price.
Note I paid for this since I over clocked and broke the gear.

Long time ago Avalon did a lot of people wrong.

I did not purchase at that time so I do not hold it against them.

But they have no new gear right now and they just cut a deal with a big Chinese power company. So I do not know if they will sell gear to us any more.

I have no problem buying from them and if they want me to run a group buy like I did in jan 2016

I will do so.

This topic is about the trustworthiness of BITMAIN.

Thats exactly what all my comments are about. Personal trifles aside. They deliver, but if you get a bad unit, tough luck. Also i've bought units that were obviously used as they were full with dust. Its not that they are scam. Not at all, its that they have poor ethics. They could have at least cleaned it, but no.

If you get a good unit. Good for you, no problem. If you get bad unit, they will tell you they give you compensation, yet some people have been waiting for months/years for compensation and never got it.

Or what they get is a few months later a shitty worthless coupon.

No, i'm saying they're in China, thats far, it cost more to ship back a controller, than buy a new one. In which BITMAIN refused to honor the warranty unless the defective controller was sent to them.

Stop twisting your version of what i said in favor of you argumenting and harass me on forum, while its purely off topic. If you have an issue with me, kindly take it to PMs.

Please take your arguments to PM because I want this thread to be purely informative, not arguments.

You paid in USD for that transaction, and apparently didn't pay enough and had to send BTC to cover the additional USD value. That is something totally different, they have to manually approve your transaction and will get to it eventually. If you send an email you will probably get it resolved faster, but you should really have sent the proper amount, unless of course you are saying they changed the price or failed to pay the wire transfer fees.

I paid with USD for 5 miners at the same day from 2  different bank with 3 transfers.
All of these were  transfers,  which was missing about 26-40 USD bank fees, which I paid with BTC later.

For two transfers Bitmain open 2xTicket, for third transfer, I wrote them himself and got  the payment adress and   amount of BTC what i have to pay extra. I made three payments and send 3 emails with paiment and order number.

Just someone forgot change from UNPAID to Paid and this is in no way my fault. The remaining two was marked paid one not.
...
Why do I pay less - because if I put -I will pay all expenses - Bitmain is still every time missing about 17 USD. And the transfer will cost me 15-25 euro. (Depending on the Bank.)

When I choose a normal service , I pay only 5 euro for transfer and missing is 26-40USD Depending on the Bank.
Therefore, I will no longer use the service-  Choose "PAY ALL FEES" when you wire payment
Because is still missing 17USD and Bitmain wants this amount in BTC

Verify my Bitcoin Address before EVERY transaction
Sure I'd say Bitmain is legit up to a point. Well all of the companies are legit up to a point. It's your choice who to trust.
