If Gox went public and get insurance and other safety measures it wouldn't happen. When we talk about one kind of firm collapsing, we don't expect every other firm of this kind is going to collapsing. Rising and falling of enterprises is big part of free market.

Right now 70% of speculators believe BTC-e will be out of business during 2014.

BTC-E out of business in 2014

BTC-E will cease to be a going concern before the end of 2014. Yes prevails if there is an official announcement of the end of operations, or if 30-day USD volume drops under 1k BTC.

I have sent a xxxxEUR amount via SEPA yesterday at 16:00. It arrived at my account on Bitstamp today at 12:00, already converted into USD. So its took 20 hours.

One hour after arrival I traded them into Bitcoins and withdrew them again immediately into a privat wallet. Withdrawal was done in 15 minutes.

So still no problem for me. Everything is fast and smooth at least for me.

UPDATE 1200 Thursday. Still no response to support request after 1 day 13 hours. Still nothing in account balance.

If you still have funds whit Bitstamp and you have a IBAN account number, cancel your withdraw in $ or €.
Send your BTC to my website www.koop-bitcoin.nl, and have your funds within 24/u on your bank account.

1 BTC=471 euro

The problem is that after transferring funds to bitstamp. there is nothing in the account balance, though they have had the money since early on monday.
Ow man that sucks, thats not cool at all.

Mt.gox had a partnership with mayzus

....
Any questions?

Yes, a question:

Now that we are working with Mayzus, a leading financial company that is in-tune with the future of Bitcoin, anyone with a verified account will be able to quickly send money to their MtGox account via 126 global currencies.

1) If they are big enough to deal with 126 global currencies, then are are operating in many where Forex is legal.
2) You have shown BTC-e might have problems "in a few countries", but did you actually "prove" anything negative?
3) You made the guy sound hugely successful, and an unlikely person to take the money and run.  Cheesy

Edit... They have obvious issues in Russia, so I hope they are not located there.

Bitstamp's CEO, Nejc Kodrič, claims to have studied Information science and Economics and work experience as a marketing director
MTGox CEO Mark Karpeles has studied nothing, but had work experience in network administration and web development.

Comparing the CEO's, Nejc Kodrič looks far more competent.

Bitstamp is in Slovenia, which is an EU member, MTGox was in Japan.
I trust EU companies more, i've experienced that already with BFL and KNCMiner.

If any major exchange would go down soon, it would be BTC-E.

BTC-e is the next one there will be no more exchanges by the time its all said and done.

A lot of people seem to think that BTC-e is based in Bulgaria. Let me tell you that I have strong reasons to speculate that BTC-e was founded and is (to some extent) controlled by Mayzus. Same guy who owns companies Mayzus FS and Mayzus.com and liteforex.com and has a a share in instaforex.com (and some more retail Forex companies). Please note that most likely Mayzus is not directly running most companies, BTC-e could be a side effect of their operation that unexpectedly became legit revenue generating business.
This guy (Mayzus) has strong background in retail Forex business in Russia and is a minor political figure in some Russian region. His network spreads all over Europe and most of assets are probably concentrated in Cyprus and British Virgin Islands.
He is one of the reasons I don't really trust BTC-e. If you know anything about retail Forex industry you will understand.
But please note that this doesn't mean that if Russia outlaws crypto something will happen to BTC-e, I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that it's not really in Bulgaria. But it's in the hands of a man who operates businesses in many countries where it's illegal (retail Forex businesses in Asia).
EDIT: Please note that it doesn't matter where the company is registered, Bulgaria or not. Mayzus has presence in a lot of countries and jurisdictions due to their "retail Forex" businesses, in many countries those businesses are subject to regulations so they probably have some sort of legal team in many of them.

People are still upset and scared because of Gox.
Both stamp and -e might turn out fine.
BTC-e made huge piles of profit in Dec, so they don't need to steal.

Too big to fail theory just like Gox..
Btc-e admin did some awful thievery to its customers. Example: They announced FTC/TRC would be delisted, so rates plummeted, then changed mind on both announcement..

Do not underestimate Greed.

It ALWAYS takes a few days at least with them and it ALWAYS gets there in the end. There is no problem, it's just slow.

Not being funny with you but that's how it all started for me in Gox.

I was getting Sepa transfers from them days before everything went down (just gutted it was for such a small amount).

I ignored all the signs and trusted in them because while it was slow I did always get my money. Then I went from 73 btc to 0.79 overnight .

The reality is you really have no way of knowing what's really going on in the background.

Believe as much as you like I just hope none of you end up loosing anything.

Why's that?  Free market will weed out the incompetents and replace them.  If Gox has taught anything, it's shady incompetent exchanges shouldn't stick around as long as they have.  I'm not saying BTC-e is or isn't, I don't use them, but keeping them around "just because" makes no sense.

let's face it there will be no competent central exchanges. Each one will have a major flaw that will bring itself down.

Why is this ..... on what your opinion, based upon nothing but your personal negativity that feeds your own self doubt

Go get therapy tard !
