Yes, as bitcoin cash can be considered as an altcoin as it is a subset of bitcoin. Most likely it was just created as an investment opportunity to create fast money, but that can't really be said.

I believe it is just alternative coin and it will stay as alt in future. We can pay BTC for Steam services and games, not BTC Cash. I think it will never have bitcoin's marketcap in future. But it will be one of the safest altcoins ever created.

For me Bitcoin Cash is just an altcoin created effortlessly by those greedy whales. They just want to double their money and earn more for free by creating Bitcoin Cash. I don't think it can surpass Bitcoin in any area. Bitcoin is still the original and the best.
This is what I believe and observed  about btc cash it just an altcoin. They create to attract more traders on this btc cash . Yes, I think it will not surpass bitcoin and still bitcoin will be the best amongst all cyrptocurrency.

Yes because it is a divergence from the current bitcoin so would mean it is an alternative version of bitcoin so altcoin it is, regardless if more people support it and it becomes the leader it is still an altcoin, in my eyes anyway.
Yes it is just an altcoin because it just alternative coin for the bitcoin. I think they just made it to double their money. still this coin cant never surpass bitcoin. It will still remain as an altcoin no matter what happen.

Hello to all.

I have one question about Bitcoin cash and this fork which in my logic I really can't understand.

Before for BTC got about 44.000.000.000 $ market capital, then become fork-split and about 15% of owners get Bitcoin cash for free, ok. Now how is possible that that Bitcoin cash have 7.000.000.000 $ market capital and BTC didn't lose anything. People receive free coin, but who give that 7.000.000.000$? is that imaginary with pomped value (no real value)?

Or people receive Bitcoin cash with value 0$ and one some put into that 7.000.000.000$ and make value of 350$ for one coin.

Please explain me.

I think there is no way that bitcoin cash can surpass the Bitcoin SegWit. First, people just look at this new altcoin as a free money or profit.

Dont be so quick. Bitcoin has achilles heel, potential for very high transaction fees. Its going to be interesting what happens when Bitcoin very high transaction fees returns, and how big Bitcoin Cash transaction fees become in comparsion.

Practically everyone here is saying that BCC is an altcoin because it is in the minority. So if BCC surpasses BTC, does that mean that BTC becomes the altcoin?

Lol... if that happens (and I think that there is a small chance), then the original Bitcoin will be known as "Bitcoin Classic" or "Bitcoin Core" and the Bitcoin Cash will be regarded as the "Bitcoin proper". But things are not clear yet. In less than a year's time, it will be clear about who is going to win this race.

I think there is no way that bitcoin cash can surpass the Bitcoin SegWit. First, people just look at this new altcoin as a free money or profit. But I don't think it will be reaching less than a year, because we will be walking in the month of November which will decide another decision.

It's the fact that there is no relationship with bitcoin, it was not created by splitting from bitcoin on August 1st, 2017. It remained before that time. Some people tried to make it as to be splitted from bitcoin to get benefit when they promoting and make it raised the price then they sold them out. Bitcoin cash is an altcoin and have no relationship with bitcoin. Please look at the reality and don't be fantastic any more! The Segwit is to improve blockchain in the speed of money transfer not relevant to bitcoin cash. If someone said it was splitted from bitcoin why our bitcoin did not loose its volume. I have some bitcoin and after August 1st, I still have them without changing volume (reduce volume). Bitcoin cash is cheap coin and will fall the price down quickly when people know the truth about its origin.  Grin Grin Grin

bitcoin cash i think is an upgraded version of old btc because of some improved modification. For me any other coins aside from bitcoin is called alt coins. So if bitcoin cash value will pass the bitcoin it will only be a clone or copy version.

Yes,BCC is just an other altcoin and it is in no way a substitute to bitcoin. It was just created by chinese miners who were not happy with segwit implementation. With most exchanges being announced that they would not support BCC.It would just remain for few days till it is pumped by its chinese supporters.

Even if BCC is claiming to be the substitute for BTC, it is still an altcoin. A substitute means it is not the original one. BTC is the original and if BCC is to replace BTC then it is not the true one but an alternate. Another point, BTC is still alive and is gaining much more value as we speak, it means to say the substitute does not have any real place.

Yes, I think BTH is an altcoin. It belongs to such a category. Anything other than BTC is an altcoin basically. And since it is just a copycat of BTC then it is safe to generalize that BCH is also an alternate cryptocurrency. It is as simple as that.

This too gets listed to the altcoin, but this gets the added value than the litecoin and other few coins that has the base aas bitcoin. Here the majority of the process happens along with the bitcoin and only the functioning takes place in a different chain. Now itself several exchanges have listed trading pairs with several altcoins as well bitcoin.

Yes Bitcoin Cash is an altcoin, you can understand if a cryptocurrency created and not is Bitcoin, we will call it's altcoin when listed on exchange, call token when still crowdsale or mining first but not listed on any exchange on crypto world.

Altcoins is a derogatory term. Bitcoin Cash has 0.1% to do with things like EOS or IOTA or AntShares, and 99.9% to do with what Satoshi named Bitcoin. Also, it inherits the same "history", bit by bit, and any coin in this new coin belongs to a person that also owned a bitcoin. Unlike Ethereum, where the dev reserved over 16,000,000 coins for themselves, the developers here reserved 0 for them. Anything out there belongs to the same people that owned bitcoin.

ETC(ETH classic) and ETH(real ETH)

Don't mean to offend but I don't quite agree with that -- dubbing real eth and the other unreal? Etc maintained the original chain while Eth was the edited chain but was supported by the majority - hence carried the original ETH ticker and name.

As with bitcoin (BTC), the majority supported segwit activation to upgrade bitcoin and so, the name and ticker of bitcoin is applied to the chain that the majority supports. For me, BTC and BCH are both real - coming from the same chain. The other has been labeled an alt because it's the minority chain. Question is, would it thrive? It's trading at BitTrex and the price is moving up fast. Earlier it was at $400 now up $524.51 https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/bch/markets/USD

Sorry about that if I was able to give a wrong definition. I'll change it to original instead of real ETH. I was about to describe the "real" ones as the original coin that we used to see and transact before this fork. I'm still not selling my BCH and I'm not yet claiming it coming from my desktop wallet but it's pretty to see the price is increasing.
