I pretty much agree with this. Although I probably would rank ETH 'better' simply because more developers use it. However from a technical standpoint, Cardano may surpass it (after the 2.0/staking smoke clears). We'll see.

Not a bad idea to hold a small amount of ADA though just because of the development team.

Cardano is actually a decent currency that I wouldn't compare to others, even if I still think ETH is better not because its blockchain only (I am not technologically smart and wise enough to compare two sets of blockchains) but because it is used a lot more and people like it a lot more and there is a bigger community behind it as well.

However, just because I prefer Ethereum this time I won't be saying anything bad about Cardano neither, normally when you compare two things you say one is good and the other is bad, here it is more like one is good the other is better so it does pain me to pick one. I would suggest everyone to buy and hold a bit of cardano just for a long term investment because the team behind it is a very creative and hard working team that may actually build something amazing.

I doubt that cardano is better because results matters here and due to my research many developers prefer to use ETH than cardano and in fact tron is better than eos and cardano not in features but the public's choice

contracts with the Smart prefix on Cardano will offer users more opportunities than similar functionality on Ethereum

Each has got something unique in the development, altogether ethereum heads the competence. Because when one is found better than the other surely more projects will get developed upon the same platform. Here ethereum continues to be in the top with more projects getting developed on the smart contract platform.

Late to the game and a close to dead thread but my two cents anyways.  Cardano and it's communities has been the most consistent throughout my research in the crypto world. There is no speculation to what it is and what it'll offer for those that offer their take on the product. When I started looking into what cryptocurrency was and different facets available, I found there was a lot of people that couldn't quite give a concise answer for companies they supported nor was there much correlation between one person's opinion to the next for the same altcoin.

Then there's Cardano. It's vision for handling smart contracts is the most clear cut, widely agreed upon, and as a result, stable investments out there. With such a volatile market, it's the only company that has investors that seem to all be in it for the long term not jumping ship nor an abundance of day traders preying on skittish investors. My only concern is if there is too much academia involved, that sometimes can hinder a company's business reflexes because it lacks experience from people with proven instincts that result in profits. That's where the balanced team of researchers and business savvy developers, with common end goals reinforces the business model alongside the users who firmly believe in the company reassure any of my doubts.

I think it might be better than neo but its pretty much impossible chance to catch ethereum from now on. It has become bitcoin for smart contracts, you will easily convince people to use ethereum but not ada.

Cardano invented a new POS (Proof-of-Stake) name Ouroboros. It will offer more robust features than Eth.and other protocols. So the Cardano network, purports to offer deeper functionality, while also functioning quicker and more efficiently
All that in one coin 

But who knows what the future will hold. We will just have to wait and see what 2018 will bring us.

Cardano is an amazing project with a great team. I would expect it to go to $10 this year.

Cardano is certainly a promising platform. But I would not be so straightforward about it. In addition to Cardano, many people offer to conduct ISO on their platform. for example the same NEM. And also do not forget about other competitors who want to get their piece of cake.

It's a good project, with potential, but its rise is the product of fomo as opposed to any development updates.  To be clear, it's a new project so I don't expect anything right now.  The project has a lot of pumpers touting its more advanced technology and better smart contracts but its unfounded to conclude Ethereum will be left in the dust.

I hope this project succeeds, and I will follow it, but this valuation is simply nuts in my opinion.  

Has Cardano been able to produce any working product and also has any new contract been deployed on their blockchain yet or its all new on their whitepaper?

ADA has more advance technology and future compared to these old coins.

I'm not sure if it's better than Ethereum or NEO but I think it's has potential.

If they implement their plans it will be the next generation big platform with no scalability problems and more new features (alongside with EOS). I like CARDANO project and trust them.

its not a competition you know... both coins price will keep rising
anyway the Cardano is superior in quality to ethereum, you just cant argue with that..
the people who write it , the code fundamentals, the transperency, the idea of how to make the network more and more scalable as more and more users use the coin..
there are so many complex and good ideas.. you can shill ethereum update all day, it will never have organised code like cardano
