Not good at all.

No custom fee

No private keys (A must thing to have in your hands)

If you login from any sanctioned country by mistake, your account will be restricted

IMO, MyCelium wallet is best, android based, simple light weight and has all the features you need, also support trezor and ledger hw wallets.

Has anybody seen this when trying to log into Coinbase lately. An error has occurred. Makes me wonder I've seen this on other sites where I had BTC & LTC and lost it.

Don't worry, we've been notified about the issue and are taking a look. Please try again in a few minutes, or if the problem persists feel free to add a Bug Report. Sorry for the trouble

My only issue with coinbase is the speed of transactions or the time it takes for transactions to get confirmed (bitcoin/litecoin). Other than that, it's all good.

The only way I can see Coinbase be somewhat responsible in this case, is when they don't include appropriate fees according to how congested the network at a specific period of time is. Another factor (when Coinbase isn't responsible) is that miners just blatantly ignore transactions, certain pools have the frequent habit of doing so. It's an aspect that doesn't get much people to complain about honestly. The far majority of the complaints all are verification related, one way or another, which is something a lot services allowing people to buy and sell crypto suffer from due to the long list of regulations they have to abide by.

As per the question is coinbase a safer wallet than blockchain
for me both are working better and do not face any issue  while using them but there is a problem in both of them. Suppose if you lose the password of your blockchian and do not have your other back up then you will lose your BTC and in coinbase there is also some issues like people are claiming that they got their account banned and this is because if they are use gambling site from that wallet. So stay alert while using anyone of them.
Coinbase is somehow safe but the thing here is that you should really not try to violate their ToS because once you have violated it then expect you would really be got blocked and there are instances on where they do block without any users awareness which do really suck but you can anytime complain to their support which i do say that they are somehow attentive on handling issues of its users but choosing between coinbase and blockchain i would use blockchain since i do have the private keys of my wallet.
Yes they do it like that just like the forum if you violated the plagiarism free rule you can be banned with no notice or whatsoever. Specially for coinbase that comply to the government for safety precautions well that cant be helped they are just securing it for a safety environment for their dear user's.

There are risks but it’s a combination of factors. Don’t advertise in twitter that you trade etc as they can do a social hack

How to lose $8k worth of bitcoin in 15 minutes with Verizon and Coinbase.com

As per the question is coinbase a safer wallet than blockchain

Way way back I started bitcoin using Coinbase wallet, then now Im using them for the ETH & Litcoin wallet too, PLUS coinbase' mobile app is a great help and I haven't experience any bad issue or problems using coinbase, very secured too!. Smiley

Quite opposite on what I experienced on their android app as its buggy to the point that it doesn't even let me copy my bitcoin address and yes it also freezes sometimes.
I wouldn't call it "secured" as it doesn't even give you your private key so technically you're not in fully control of your funds and is subjected on their policies where changes will be made in the future regardless of your opinion. There's also a bonus of slow support.
Seconded, I have experienced it too on their mobile app which it do really have some bugs which you can even copy your address or even does show some visual glitch for sometime when you are trying to scroll between other accounts. They do have support but its automated and not all issues and questions can really be precisely be answered by that bot.

coinbase is safe because high security support 2fa
but not full safe, because coinbase not support private key, if coinbase service close or gone, you can do it anyhing and bitcoin balance is gone too
This is the only the thing why I do hesitate to use such site because I don't really have the possession of my own wallet keys which do really suck when theres a problem on the site and you cant really access your bitcoins anymore.Speaking about legitimacy they are indeed legit and been operating for how many years and regarding on account security they do have it too but yet they do have still some issues from its users just like on sudden blocking of the accounts.I haven't experienced it yet so I cant make a word on it but one assumption that they might really violate rules listed on the ToS.

Well, It used to be. I used to see praises towards coinbase
left and right. But now they're a big pile of cow dung.

We migrated there a month ago and it was the worst experience ever.
We shouldn't have left Paxful. JFC

Despite all the security features we activate, there will always be a way for hackers to steal bitcoin. I believe coinbase is a nice wallet because it was listed on the official site bitcoin.org, but we also have to be rational because of the many negative news and experiences from the user coinbase who has ever stolen.

As a user of coinbase personally i love their 2FA security support.I'm using their service over 4 years long still all are going smoothly, never facing any little bit problem but i support you it's not good at all.I mean all online wallet will be failed give you 100% security in long term.Only web wallet will promise security issue.
As a user of bitcoin,I hate to see the fact people are still stuck with exchange wallets. There's a difference, the wallet you carry in your pocket and the wallet your bank gives you.You only have control over only one of them.2Fa and shit is okay but what's the point of all that when they can simply suspend your accounts without your permissions.

As we saw these days with the Central Bank of China, i see this problem with regulated exchanges like coinbase, if the country regulator wants to suspend your account coinbase will block it. This can't happen if you control your bitcoins (with a paper wallet, software wallet or hardware wallet).

Its a safe wallet if you do not plan on conducting any  dubious activities to have your account locked as the company holds your funds other than that great wallet with good security.

Yes agree, I am user of coinbase about 2 years, and until now have never found a problem. Certainly by activating 2FA is the best solution to increase security, but we must be aware that the web wallet is not secure 100%, so coinbase I use to store  bitcoin no more than 10 btc.

I'm not a coinbase user but by the looks of it, it a safe on-line wallet for everyone.
For security purpose, I believe its the individual responsibility to secure whatever
wallet she/he has. If you are storing huge amount of bitcoins in coinbase, its
your responsibility to take security precautions specially when you are using
computer or phones to access once account.

Activating 2FA is an added security measures to protect yourself, although
recently hackers has found a way to bypass it as well.
