in the long term (as it was true up until now) yes Dogecoin is dying and there is a pretty obvious reason for it also. and that is Dogecoin's massive supply which is 106 billion coins, the supply dump alone is going to kill it in the long run.
but nobody can stop a pump as it will happen from time to time. but it becomes risky.

What I can say is that as long as Dogecoin will be on Poloniex, you can say that the coin is still alive and has some sort of community.

The last time this happened I knew it was a good time to buy and it shot up to 60 before settling on around 40 for a very long time. Doge has always been worth 30-45 satoshi. This time though I'm very unsure what is going to happen.
The doge community took a hit when the whole moolah scam thing came out, and they're pretty depressed and are no longer doing things like sponsoring jamaican bob sled teams etc. The price is a reflection of the community.

The problem of DOGE is not its distribution but rather infinite supply. This feature is killing Doge's potential for holding or long time investment with this coin.All we see over the years is slight decline of Doge, this coins is slowly but surely is slipping down from the top.

Merge mining saved doge. It was front loaded in that most of the coins were issued at the start. Very few coins are now added to the supply now, so it is not worth mining it on it's own, but makes sense to merge mine it with ltc, you get some bonus doge coins for your effort.
Doge is very useful now because it is very cheap to send, it has a low value so is easy to work out how many doge to send rather than having to work out decimal places in Bitcoin and it is stable. This makes it very useful and similar to litecoin I think it will stay a popular altcoin.
i hope not, I prefer to send using doge than BTC, doge is more faster and have stable price

Dogecoin was fun and the community was pretty good. But it was a fad. Not much to expect from it in the future IMO.

Is it not that Doge is merge mined with LTC? Maybe all that volume came from the Chinese LTC mining farms selling all their Doge. But agree with that chart. There is a pattern there and another pump is indeed coming if the pattern stays the same.
doge is merge mined with LTC and i know this from ghash.io when i am mining ltc on there. and dogecoin is not dying, this coins is preparing for something surprise for their super fans
and then their super fans can celebrate it. just wait and see and don't forget to make big stock of dogecoin in case there are any increasing rate in future.What surprise? Will it be another sponsorship gimmick? It would be better if they copy Monero's dynamic blocksizes. If Dogecoin can have an advantage in scalability over other coins maybe it can make a comeback.
It is pretty useful when moving between exchanges and has less fee's than LTC so it really does act like copper to LTC's silver in that respect. I've always thought as DOGE as a penny currency and it's never been touted as more than a tipping coin. I find it weird that people hate it for some reason, I think it's because they missed the initial rise or something.
