I missed this news, I just checked the results, and 57.5% support him to resign, if he really follows that poll, then he failed to lead Twitter. While Twitter has struggled since he took over, I think it's normal to have such a big staff change, and it takes time to get things back on track. I don't think he's resigning because he's not a good fit for Twitter, I think he's got too much work to do. I found an article saying he spends much time on Twitter and forgets about the other companies he runs, this could be the reason.

He takes it on the poll because he really needs to get out of Twitter he leaves the decision to the Twitter community he doesn't want people to think that he cannot manage Twitter anymore he wants a way out because of the impact on his other companies his major investors are now asking if there's still a CEO on Tesla they think that Musk has abandoned Tesla, Tesla's stock was hitting 50% down for over 52 weeks last year he is the richest man in the World now he is relegated to the number two spot, because of this, he really needs to go back to Tesla and just hire someone who can effectively manage Twitter.

If Elon Musk no longer be CEO of Twitter, it does not mean he is not the big boss there. By this vote, he will show that he cares about people opinion and resign, people would be happy that they have overthrown "that bad Elon Musk that fires employees", but Elon will simply put in charge someone he trusts and will control Twitter like a puppet master. People are happy, Elon is happy, but in general nothing has changed.

Since the controversial buy of Twitter by Tesla and SpaceX boss, Elon; it was obvious that he moved from one form of "restructuring" to the other. Firstly, he began by shipping off key workers, to reducing workers pay cut and enforcing extra work hours amongst other things.

Things have taken another turn as it looks like the Chief Twit is running low on his initial energy as he has considered stepping down as CEO via a post on his account suggesting that a poll should be taken to that effect.
Elon has never been known to be apologetic for his actions or seek opinions(I stand to be corrected on that), so what's with the new pattern?

Elon musk is a businessman who knows the foundation of business around in anything that is doing I don't think that he can give up until it is since the profit or lost of it before giving off, what it entails it knows how to follow it up and it has enough strategizes who's that the guys for him before moving into any business

Sometimes knowing the business and calling the shots alone doesn't make you a good businessman, ones you carry your workers along getting ideas from them and even sharing your ideas with them can make the business more stronger without you running out of ideas.
You might not see him giving up now but sooner or later the sighs will unveil it self.

Musk has been distracted by twitter too long already. He has other responsibilities, like SpaceX and Tesla.

Now that he has straightened twitter out, he doesn't need to sit around and babysit it. Get somebody else in there, somebody else who has similar ideas, to handle the day to day operations. Musk will always be around to give advice. And he might even have a method for taking it back if the new guy turns into an enemy.

I smell a rat from this action taken by the dude, honestly. He had no problem causing the resignation of top individuals in the company after his takeover just because, they in his opinion, obstructed free speech. So let's assume they did. He wasn't exactly practicing what he preached himself!
I don't think he's lost his drive; probably another way to gather media attention to divert minds from his appalling issue with the Neuralink saga. That's the way I see it.

I think the issue with Elon Musk currently is either he is low on energy from running the company alone or he wants to be seen as an empathetic leader with a high degree of emotional intelligence. All in all I like that he is seeking public opinion. The thing now is who will fit in his shoes?

I think what musk will need is administrative head for Twitter company. He can step behind to guide and direct but not to be there in every aspect because workers can become biase to give the best they have. He sack workers which will get some workers afraid with him being all around. He should handover administrative running of Twitter.

Elon Musk has been very controversial and I doubt his ability to uphold equality and transparency. Although he might still control Twitter but the company needs a neutral professional to run its affairs. Twitter is too important to be handled by a man that is accused or guilty of constantly attack of his perceived rivals or critics. Twitter needs someone that is less controversial and more professional. With less than few minutes to the end of this polls, it is glary that he might step down as Chief Executive Officer because currently 57.5% favors the decision to step down, while 42.5% is opposed to it. It is possible that he wants to step down because he has realized that he lacks the skills and the goodwill to run Twitter. Maybe a new CEO would be announced in few days.
