Ethereum is certainly ahead of ripple in terms of capitalization and is now falling again , I think Ethereum will now be very difficult to regain its place as the ico market is falling

Maybe better, but Ethereum market again third position on coinmarketcap. I think Ethereum position will be second again. But we can help to grow Ethereum price. If we trade via Ethereum more, then anytime Ethereum price will be rise.
maybe yes, I see the second marketcap of these coins starting to have the same value. if the market starts to move I'm sure there will be a struggle for second place later. I dont think so, Coinmarketcap ranking is not about the token or coin, it is about their price in the market and total market value.

i think its a effort of eth to secure it value, because nowadays eth value is too deep crush comparing in January last year.
Almost all the cryptocurrencies have lost 85 percentage of its value from January 2018 to now so don't compare it again. I don't think ripple will take the place of ethereum now so you can invest on ethereum more than XRP. 
I also think as you think, because I believe that ethereum won't take long to occupy its number two position, and it won't take long.

I think if ETH keeps trying to increase the marketcap, it could be possible for ETH to take the 2nd position and replace XRP again. But still, ETH needs time before it's happening and we don't know when ETH can beat XRP. Maybe ETH needs more supports from new people so they can buy ETH again while the price is down. It still hard to predict if XRP can stay at the 2nd position or ETH will replace XRP because the battle of those coins continues.
I think that the broadcast will undoubtedly return to the second position and will already take it thoroughly raising its capitalization!

Recently, ethereum and ripple repeatedly knocked each other out of second place in terms of capitalization. This especially does not change anything except the prestige for these coins. However, after the expected improvements in ethereum, this coin, I think, will take its rightful second place in terms of capitalization for a long time, and the centralized ripple will work in its banking sector. 
For now xrp is superior to eth on the coinmarketcap list, but for the long term and after there is an update on the eth platform, it is likely that this year, I am sure eth will be ranked second on the coinmarketcap list.
