With the August 1st BTC split still approaching nobody knows what's in store for ETH. There were times when this situation was going to make it skyrocket, as(some) people would be getting money out of BTC and putting it into ETH, but nowadays it's so dumb the way everything goes up and down together. It's almost like you can't even make a good trade this way.

I like to think that there won't gbe another crash of the proportions of the one last week, so maybe(hopefully) Ethereum can regain some lost ground.

Not only eth is struggling but almost all of the coins are dropping, but seems like eth is a bit in trouble, eth supposed to be able to backup Bitcoin and my prediction eth price could go very high, but same like other coin the movement is stagnant and the moving is unstable, I think the news affected on eth growth

Correct, I'm generally against ethereum and find it extremely hyped. But, frankly, there is no reason to blame ethereum right now. The whole market is collapsing like doing a free-fall!

Nobody is blaming ethereum here they just explained a situation simply. No need to get offended. We won't see good days until we get rid of that sewit thing. This is very certain.

Food for thought.

This chart was drawn by an economics professor named Jean-Paul Rodrigue & is widely used in finance/economics to depict stages of a bubble.

This is a six month chart of ethereum.

They look very similar to me. Although I could be wrong on that.

I've been saying ether is a bubble for weeks now & can't claim to be unbiased.

Indeed,
Not only eth, everything's bubbling for weeks now and absolutly went down.just like bitcoin back then in last year 2013ish until early 2014ish something similiar will always happen because it's an economy cycle,
And we can not say it struggling but instead following the flow of the cyle,we may be can see it again in the next 3 years or so from every cycle.even we can see it more than before if nothing goes wrong un the future.
Eth was one of the best cryptos in here and always be like that (i hope it doesnt not be like ltc) bringing discovery and innovation

That's really a steep fall. Guess people can still wait for the desperation stage and make money once it goes back to the "mean"?  Sucks for those that got into it just a few days before it crashed. If the first chart is any accurate, they'd probably won't get their money's worth back.

Its not just ether, it almost every coin in the market is not stable currently and all I can say is this is due to bitcoin dropping in the value. Have you checked the drop of bitcoin in past 24 hours ? Its dramatic and that is how other coins are following too.

Possibly, though in ETH's case it seems people really did panic. Even if you know it's not true, just enough people believing it would affect how they respond and how the price in turn would fall.

ETH ICOS can be partly blamed for this as many ETH ICO owners maybe selling their ETH so I think it's wiser in future for ICO initiators to accept more digital currencies for their ICOS and not just ETHEREUM just because they issued ETH tokens.  They are shooting themselves and everyone else in the back.

This is not specific to ETH. The whole crypto market has taken a nose dive due to Bitcoin's possible split in the last week on July.

Here: Take a look at top 20 crypto assets and look at the 7-day graph. Looks similar to ETH?

Ever since the scandal about the death of Ether owner, I cant exactly see much progress. Can I be wrong?
Theres always hope in the future so dont lost hope..And yes people struggling now about bitcoin because of price going up and down.Especially for the coming august 1"what will happen to btc"But anyway even people are struggling now,but still going on to bitcointalk because it doesnt remain struggling time always. Its like a journey that you will just pass by every station, dont stay and go to another station for time limit given.Thats why many bitcoiners still stay even there are times for struggle.

What happened was that a rumour circulated that the founder of Ether, Vitalik Buterin died in a car accident. All their investors panicked then the value dropped. I still think it was one of their competitors that created this fake news story.

I don't think its a good idea to invest in Ether right now. Perhaps it is more stable now but I would still not suggest it. And plus, there's so many new and exciting ICO's taking place. Some of them have real potential so why no broaden your mind, do some research and invest in those. Who know's what you could get out of it. Just a thought Smiley

Hope that helps.
No, Vitalik Buterin not died, this just is fake news from news on tabloid to attack mind user ETH and people not have knowledge and information to know this is really news or fake!

ETH dropping down just by some ICOs project starting selling ETH from crowd sales and all market at now are bearish trend in summer. Remember in summer not good time to buying, "Sell in may and go away" still exist for remind all people invest in summer can death and loss your funds
I think you misread that bold word in isabella's post. Rumor was mentioned, so meaning the post meant that it was a fake news, right?

Anyways, I think Ether price drop isn't just because of that fake news. It seems to be started with that but now seems that there's a panic selling, not only in Ether but even alts. Some people are securing fiat money maybe because of August event

I find it hard to believe that fake news is responsible for this type of drop.  All cryptos that have been speculated and pumped up hard over the past few months has flipped around and the confidence has decreased.  Ethereum isn't alone in this...they've all taken a bit of a dive lately.

No, Ethereum isn't struggling anymore. Google it

Going up for a minute doesn't mean it isn't struggling.
You need to check the price again.

I heard there was a Darkweb marketplace that went down. They accepted payments in ETH and Bitcoin so a lot of users funds are stuck

Ever since the scandal about the death of Ether owner, I cant exactly see much progress. Can I be wrong?
Actually The down in the price was not the single news of dead of ETH owner , but there was also other reason that was the problem in the network algorithm of the ETH coin , after the problem in the network of the ETH coin , many people who bought ETH sold Thier ETH to remain away from any type of the loss , But with this news the mews of death of the owner also came in the market , this made really the ETH goes much down , but after the official declaration that the owner of the ETH is alive and news was fake , the price get increases.
But even today the people have not much trust with the network of the ETH , that how much time will take to repair and work again .
No doubt that ETH is really a cool coin and also many of the ICO haves tocken for the value of ETH coin only . Which is directly showing what the ETH coin is .
Here in my opinion also the ETH is best coin and after the btc we have the option of the ETH for bulk trade .

I would say irrespective of its price, ETH is still struggling to have witnessed such a sharp drop as a result of a fake news. I wonder what would happen if the news had been real and there is nobody to debunk the death rumour and I still think that's one more advantage bitcoin has over ETH since its not tied around one person and whether he is alive or dead, no one knows. If a news broke that the Satoshi died tomorrow I don't see a lot of effect because a lot have claimed to be Satoshi.

You guys do realise that almost the same "crash" can be seen for Bitcoin in the last 12 hours, don't you? The same can be said for a lot of alts actually. I'm looking just at DOGE and LTC. Just goes to show that BTC still leads the way. You jump, I jump, Bitcoin!

Yes, it has happaned for most cryptos today. Ithink the reason other cryptos go down in price is because that the BTC and ETH and LTC go down in price it affects the trading pairs of BTC/DOGE and others. It likely causes them to go down, but a lot of times it doesn't by much.

Usually for the alt coins if they are on their way down in price it happens over the course of a week then it stabilizes and then rebounds on price again. It seems to be a pattern to be honest. I trade on the downswings and sell on the upswings on a lot of them. Very eas money.

Very nicea analysis. Yes, I also been saying that Ethereum is a bubble and now it has already burst that a lot has been trapped already. I don't know if the Vitalik news really has a negative impact on Ethereum. This is already confirmed as fake news. Maybe it just follow bitcoin path as other have suggested, or their are really good reasons for the price to really dip.

First thing first, Vitalik is still live and that man is hard working behind the ether framework. The price is dropping just because of noise in the world of bitcoin. It is always noticeable that when bitcoin starts moving downward or upward the ethereum price also follows the same way. Ether is struggling the same way bitcoin now a days. Once the august passes I'm sure bitcoin will take the lead and ether will follow the same.

Due to bitcoin hype no one is investing money into either of the coins as well as people have started panic selling and this is what happens when whole community starts panicking at the same time.

Theres also the ICO token holders who can dump anytime they want for BTC. Its a well known fact that none of those crowdsale ventures that they are trying to develop on Ethereum will have real world use cases. If there is one, it wont be as good as their centralized counterparts that are available right now.
